I personally got stuck this time in a very challenging position, however with the guidance of @Asif Hussain and @J-P L and the help of all the other guys on the convoy, managed to get out safely. In just love those complex stuck situations, you get to always learn new ways of recovering. thaks again for the great ride and see you all next time

This was indeed a challenging morning, with fog reducing the visibility to less than 10m on the way to the meeting point. Once we finished the briefing, both convoys headed out for a spin in the foggy dunes. Due to the low visibility and the very compact sand, we had very little trouble and kept it easy by making nice loops in the beautiful dunes of Faya. We reached the foxes' den around 1hr and 15mins into the drive and took a break while trying to spot some foxes. My original plan of exiting at the Tilal Sweihan racetrack ADNOC worked out in the end as everyone drove like a champ and we were able to keep a good flow. I was kinda happy seeing @bruno.sousa getting crested and at least we could get some cardio in Thanks to the great support for @ChrisW and @Andrew John Melvill, and with @JC_E polishing my tracks, it was an extremely smooth drive and i actually loved the radio silence and scenic views. Even more so when some camels came to say hello during the drive. Thanks again to @Asif Hussain for taking a second convoy, which resulted in an empty waitlist and everyone having at least a drive this weekend. Much appreciated my friend. Hey @Frederic, I'm a fewbie plus but I've just changed my car this week to a Bronco and it's totally new to me, that's why I signed up to the newbie.

Hats off @DG707 for driving all the way to Abu Dhabi for your first club drive! Stay tuned for more drives coming up soon, i love driving in Sharjah and RAK during the winter. That will be at least much closer to your doorstep.

DRIVE DESCRIPTION The run from Al Khaznah toward Sayh Al Tuwaissah begins with wide‑open sabkha plains that ease you into the rhythm of the desert. The terrain starts gentle—hard‑packed sand with scattered ghaf trees—before rolling into long, sweeping dunes that rise gradually toward the horizon. It’s the kind of stretch where you can settle into a steady pace, reading the contours ahead and letting the landscape open up around you. The dunes here are broad and forgiving, perfect for carving smooth lines and feeling the transition from flat desert to true dune country. As you push closer to Sayh Al Tuwaissah, the terrain shifts into taller, more technical ridges that demand sharper attention. The dunes tighten, forming bowls and slipfaces that reward precise throttle control and clean cresting. The views widen dramatically from the higher ridgelines—endless waves of sand rolling toward the west—and the approach into Tuwaissah feels like arriving at a natural amphitheater of dunes. It’s a route that blends flow and challenge, offering a satisfying progression from open desert cruising to confident, high‑dune driving. The goal is to keep an average speed of 30 Km/h, to cover 60 Kms in the 2 hours allocated for the drive. We'll drive to the sound of a rock soundtrack (Spotify playlist to follow😁). Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Mandatory off-road gears: Fewbie and above, Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, Intermediate and above, Kinetic Tow Rope and 2 soft Shackles.
