After 3 seasons of driving with us in Carnity, @Aser will unfortunately be leaving us as he is relocating to Canada. We want to thank Aser for his help and support he has provided to so many of us in the club and wish him well on his future adventures! Perhaps not in the sand but maybe with an F150 in the Canadian woods! Let's all say THANKS and wish him all the best!15 points

Hi @Zsolt @Menon Arun @Aringga @Nikki1007 @Dodi Syahdar @Lazy Frog @Hartzel @Riyad @Mahesh_ @Shary @Glenn W Thank you for joining this drive, and for being on time so we could start moving at 6.40 π«‘. After crossing the farm track, we had small refusal but @Lazy Frog quickly get back on track. I got trapped after following@Dodi Syahdar half track and ended up in a small nasty pocket π€£. Maybe Dodi was feeling guilty so he pulled me out of it π. Thanks to our 2nd lead @Zsolt for polishing my track and adjusting it whenever needed. @Menon Arun good to hear that you were not afraid of heights during the drive. You need to join more drive and you will get addicted to climbing... maybe π . @Aringga it seems like the new tires are way better than before, but it is not only the tires, the driver also getting better ππ. @Nikki1007 well done on your first Fb drive! you drove very well, I thought you might have many refusal but I was wrong π«‘. Thanks to our support team @Dodi Syahdar and @Mahesh_ for their support during recoveries. With the clear and gentle instructions, keeping everyone calm and building confidence. @Lazy Frog welcome back to the sand after couple of weeks away. Please join more Fb drive to better understand the Frog's behavior π€£. Overall you did a great. @Hartzel it seems like you and the Fortuner have relly clicked. She will be sad when you drive the wrangler on Sunday π€£ @Riyad looking forward to driving with you on higher level with the beast. You will enjoy tomorrow's training with @Mark B at the garden @Shary the last climb was challenging as the track was already churned up, Even I had a refusal with 14 psi, if we lower the pressure it would be just fine. Other than that you drove very well. Thanks to our "no man left behind" @Glenn W for making sure everyone stayed on the track and thanks for the rerouting. Having you at the back gives me peace of mind. We ended the drive on high note by exiting the bowl and everyone got out from the bowl without any refusals, well done πππ. See you on the next drive8 points

Thank you to the BIG Carnity family, all the leads, support, members and specially to @Luke K P for introducing me to this club where I found everything I was looking for, a way to learn and explore with a focus on safety. If I ever was too "direct" to any of you in my "support" role please keep in mind safety is integral part of my daily job. π Don't stop learning on every drive and enjoy the desert freedom! I will keep an eye on the gallery and deeply miss sharing the desert with all with you. For the newbies, keep that convoy and radio discipline, "Enforcer out"! π€£7 points

Upon arrival you can deflate to 14psi if you have highway terrain tires, and to 12psi if you have all terrain tires. @florent sierens your Jimny can be deflated to 10-11psi to achieve good flotation See you all in the morning!5 points

Newbie Drive Report β Faqa to Bab Al Shams Thank you to everyone who arrived early and were ready for the 7:00 AM briefingβgreat discipline and much appreciated. This was a newbie-heavy drive, including @Esteban Ayala's first Carnity driveβwelcome! I hope you had an enjoyable introduction to desert driving. Welcome back @Rajath Shetty and @Ghaithh after a break. Hope you had some fun while getting used to things again. We supported a few of you during setup with tips to improve performance, including guidance for Pajero drivers on managing ABS/traction systems. @Mariem and @Pramod Sathyaseelan, please take time to learn your Prado and Fortuner offroad features (especially 4L and diff locks if you have them) to build confidence. We started with a gentle warm-up through Faqa, heading west through slightly bushy terrain. Some drivers also practiced hill climbs with Aserβs guidanceβgreat effort refining control and cresting technique. Followed by a break on the sabkha. Entering a different dune patch, we encountered very soft, technical sand, where you all handled stucks and refusals well as a team. I also needed a hand with some shoveling to get me moving again. We exited and continued along the sabkha edge dipping in and out of the dunes here. We saw plenty of camels and gazelles here too. The final dunes were again challenging, but you managed well, with good teamwork and learning throughout. After a Prado transmission overheating stop, JP and I ventured forward and found a nearby track ~400m north, giving us a quicker exit as we were running late. From there, we overlanded smoothly to Bab Al Shams. Thank you @nitesh for a good Second Lead and for @Aser Support in the back as Sweep. You were pretty busy yesterday. Overall, a high-learning driveβwell done for your progress, teamwork, and perseverance. Looking forward to the next one! Here is the track we made together yesterday. You all should be proud of yourselves. That was some drive yesterday. We covered an amazing 70kms and saw some nice parts of the desert here.5 points

Hi Guys, very keen to join you tomorrow. I'm from Argentina, 12 years here in Dubai I used to ride in the desert with a motocross, but I changed now to the cars... Less aggressive and allows me to still be in the dunes. I drove a few times in the sand, but I have a lot to learn. Hope I can improve by joining the community. My car is a black SWB Pajero 2011 stock with bash plate only. I have the equipment mentioned above and watched the video. See you tomorrow.5 points

Thank you @Ishak for the great drive last Friday morning, it really was enjoyable. The sun was hot, the sand was soft but a fantastic morning overall. Thank you for the second lead @Zsolt and support from @Dodi Syahdar & @Mahesh_. Everybody drove really really well, very few refusals and some great patience shown by @Shary on one of the final climbs to enter the double bowl. have a great week. See you all again soon.4 points

Dear Desertnauts. A quick briefing for tomorrow's drive. The goal and drive plan are simple: drive as fast as possible (terrain permitting) between the star dunes along the Pink Rock to Super Bowl route, and climb as much as possible once we reach each star dune formation. We plan to stop and enjoy the sunset at Super Bowl, hoping to find it with as few people as possible. The convoy order will see @Giacomo and @Glenn W share the Second Lead.and Sweep duties, with @Hartzel and @Jeromestarting at #3 and #4, and switching positions as well throughout the drive. See you all.tomorrow for a timely start around 3 PM.3 points

Hi @Aser it has been a real pleasure learning the desert together over the last almost 3 years. From the Newbie days through to tackling the RDC together earlier this year. Getting to know you as a person and not just another club driver, as well as your lovely family (including the dogs!) You will be missed by many, including those who have been on the end of your enforcer radio voice! Many NB's and FB's have leant a lot from your no-nonsense approach to safety and radio discipline. Will miss seeing you master the big bowls and dunes of Sweihan, Al Salamat and Liwa! All the very best for your new adventures in Canada!3 points

I've just opened up the RSVP I've just opened up the RSVP @Zsolt if you have a digital camera (DSLR or mirrorless) with a tripod you would be fine with a wide angle lens that you have. For night photography it would ideally have to be a fast lens (f/2.8 or lower). Even with Iphone you might get decent results, but you would definitely need a tripod as well.2 points

We will be driving on Channel 4. There is a good section at the start which can sometimes quite interesting depending on how the wind has sculptured the dunes. after that we move towards Little Qudra and take a break before we cross a Sabhka which will be 1 of 2 that day. Next we will some technical dunes and play in the dunes across little Sweihan. After we cross over the second sabkha we will reach what we call little Sweihan. We will enter at the start of the triangle and end near the military area. After that we will drive to exit either at the Science Center or at Bab Al Shams.2 points
