  1. Is that Nissan, really....? They improved so much from those Pathan pickup types....lol. Or is this some other league that I have never seen on road.
  2. Nissan is not all good in Dubai, and some bad as well that you need to know before you buy. Just like every super successful brand it comes with little taken for granted attitude and slow in service from the nissan dealers in dubai. I had a nissan and just sold it as every service is a tedious task of loooong waiting to just give the car and come home. On the other hand toyota service center in dubai is like a breeze, where you can actually get the minor oil and filter service in 30-45 mins while you sip free coffee and read newspaper in their first floor lounge and keep an eye on your car from top. Total A+ service standard from Toyota in dubai. Nissan still has to catch up to that standard, as selling car only is not enough. Slight correction on Taqir estimate that Nissan and Mitsubishi parts are most expensive and Toyota and mazda are the cheapest and honda is in between. Overall Nissan is a good brand to drive in heat or cold here with extreme reliability and durability of Japanese brand off course. Go for it man.
  3. Recently came across below car decorating guidelines in few news site so thought of sharing it here with other car drivers in emirates who might be interested in decorating their car on this National day. Don't install the flag or block front windshield or front window's view.Don't change the car color or stick obscene phrases on car body.Don't carry more passenger than allowed, and don't let passenger come out of window or sunroof while car is moving.Don't block the traffic by wrongly parked car in traffic hub.Don't install any noise polluting engine or exhaust modifications.Allowed days are from Nov 22 - Dec 6, 2015.
  4. Tire change is due as per the kms they have driven. Every tire has a treadware count like 200 or 300 written on sidewall that tells how much kms certain tires can drive safely. Translation of this treadware is also depends on company to company manufcaturing it so if its michelin 300 = 40k - 50k easily. Check your treadware and then google what it translate for your tire brand.
  5. Japanese have best resale, then korean, then Germans, then UK, then american, just so you know before buying used car here.
  6. This indeed is the way to future modern car fuel economy man. Good stuff and nice looking style created by Audi. Who give a %$%^& about old guy vs girl (@kasim) I was drooling with the car looks, and ultra shiny metallic blue paint. I can look at those detailings for hours and hours in reality.
  7. For fastest growing pickup brand may be in US and not in UAE. I don't spot these many in Dubai at least. I would say I see Ford F150, Raptors and Tundra more here than chevy, but seems a good crack on getting bit of gzmos to boost the sale.
  8. Everything looks and sound awesome, except so much scary and ferocious looks. Audi clean design use to look much better than this toooooooo american looks wannabe transformers looks. My two cents. btw, thanks for sharing habibi.
  9. I think the title for world toughest car is rightly earned by Nissan Patrol 2 door (aka: capsula), as it is really indestructible by the centuries of bashing in sand, wadi's, rock climbing and all. Second comes Land Cruiser old model pickup (aka: bushanab). For military grade toughest means the explosion and guns proof which we really don't care to add up 4 times the body weight for armored protection, which is not used by general public.
  10. This might get caused by electric leak in the car system and any good electrician can trace the leak or faulty electrical component in the car that might need new wiring or change the faulty circuit. Too bad if this has happen in 2012 model, as such leak develop much after 5-10 years age when wiring get brittle and worn-out. If car is still in warranty considering 3 years of age, worth showing this to dealer and ask them to fix it.
  11. I usually keep car for 2-3 years - 90% of the time, and 3-4 years - 10% of the time if car is too good and Im facing difficulty in buying my next car.
  12. Acura is owned by Honda, wow what a new stuff I hear today. Above design and style is awesome, and plus kudos to the photographer for amazing angles, sharpness and highlights.
  13. Mr.gupta, what he meant is this is not any new concept Nissan is bragging and just strip down the 370Z roof with few bells and whistles of nismo to give more racing stance.
  14. Just got a one speeding fine last week after 9-10 months. May be I get two violation in a year, not bad huh.
  15. I was thinking of something else after seeing the title of this thread that it is gonna make fun of new swollen chinese eyes syndrome that almost all car manufacturers have adopted lately since 2012. Looks like all car brand designers meet in one place and pledge together to make it as fugly as possible.
  16. Ok guys, that expansion doesn't effect anything beyond 2% (moderate) -5% (extreme). So technically speaking you might be spending 2-5 dirham extra per 100 dirham tank. baah. HOWEVER, do you know that all petrol station have their storage tanks atleast 6-10 feet below the ground, that keeps them lot cooler even in the hottest day and I have personally touch the petrol while filling up the quad and it was so hot to burn my finger, it was reasonably slightly more than a room temperature in 30's. Go check by yourself and touch few drops before believing anyone around with theoretical knowledge.
  17. Honda indeed makes the best car in the world and it tells from the long history and legacy of past years. Thanks for sharing man, really nice stuff and good find.
  18. Honda Accord 2012 Model and so far very happy and no plan to ditch it. Bought it new and plan to drive at least for 10 years (if it last, that long).
  19. Well in that case, you can definitely get any aftermarket companies alloy as far as they are rated with JWL stamp it's a Japanese light alloy wheel standard stamp that is present in all stock japanese cars and many aftermarket brands like lenso, prestige, carline etc. You get these on plenty shops in Sharjah near Sahara Mall and Troy university area. That's a cheaper alternative without compromise on safety and quality from another continent
  20. It's also advisable to get the air and fuel system inspect before on jumping on the conclusion that engine is gone bad. As Air intake things possibly could go wrong the first like: Air flow meter, air flow sensor, etc to mess up engine combustion and resulting in smoke and stall. Second to doubt, though unlikely is fuel supply as if fuel is lean or rich then car will stall but without any smoke. Giving you some food for thought, hope you sort it out soon inshallah.
  21. All above advises are very good and useful. My only two cents is whatever you need to do it, do it soon as in gearbox issue if you leave small jerk now then in next few months you have to change the whole gear. Stitch in time, saves nine.
  22. If you don't mind spending money, go with Michelin Latitude Pilot Xtra, slightly expensive but worth every penny. It's awesome on road comfort, super quiet, very soft rubber that makes bumps absorb better. In offroad use in sand while deflated also perform very well. Only not so good in Wadi and if you get too adventurous in wadi's you might hit sidewall. Rest all is amazing.
  23. I heard that there are fully synthetic oils in market that goes for 15,000 kms, how good it will be to have service once every year than every 3-4 months. One of my friend drive Porsche Cayenne in Dubai and he get 15k oil once every year. May be it's for German or hi-end car (I am not sure).....!
  24. It's started kicking in now 42 degree already, once again time to read all of above as a refresher course. lol.
  25. Swapping is always advisable than rebuilding it, as it will cost lesser. You should only rebuild engine if you dont find good swap donor engine or it's a super special car on which you know the full history of engine. Rebuilding rule is always applied second, as after rebuilding no one get 100% same performance, unless you are rebuilding engine for performance gains with performance parts. Lot of people claim that they rebuild good, but ask them if they can get 80-90% performance of factory sealed engine.....?
