Not really totally devoid of truth. Usually you need to install a steel bumper in most cars to install a winch as they don't have any place to for them. The weight if winch. Even if your car does not droop with all this. It does make some difference when driving off-road as your front suspension is loaded and will bottom out faster. If you already have a place to install a winch on your ride the difference is negligeble

Quick way to check if your shocks have gone the way of the dodo is push the trunk down and try to bounce the car like a basketball. If it bounces easily that means shocks are toast. Vice versa to check fronts

Yes for people who have complete access.

Told you so! Moral of story always listen to the wise old sage of Carnity.

That's what our first world mentality says sitting in sanctimonious high horses. But ask the people who are actually using it and benefited a great deal from it. Millions are earning some kind of income from it which they were not able to before. They are able to stay in touch with friends and family through messenger. I know many such artists who are promoting their art and gaining a name for themselves through this free access in their respective countries and communities. Small online service oriented bussiness have cropped up. Of course there are people who will waste it on stupid shit. But those can be found everywhere. Just like everything including the internet and Facebook it's up to you how you use it. Just today I was having a discussion with the Mrs about this that literally the collective knowledge of the human race is at your disposal at your finger tips but what do most people do with this ennourmous blessing? Waste it on bullshit like tiktok and Instagram

Nothing in life is free, but I'm talking about taking it for face value right now. Like many people are making noise about free access to Facebook across many poor African nations. Around 655 million people who previously had no access to Internet or very expensive internet now can access Facebook. Now tell me what is better no access or some free access even if it is through Facebook?

But they sure are curious about we are up to. As for the rest, it's just more sky is falling sensationalism. Most of it is small debris. An astronaut loses a screw during a spacewalk that also becomes part of the record. The Earth is huge and it's sky even huge-er take the UAE and spread 5000 cars ( avg size of a satellite ) around it or throw 128 million basketballs ( avg size of space debris ) all over it. You think it will get crowded? Now spread this all over the Earth and see it's really not as big a deal as some are making it out to be. Most of this will eventually burn up in the atmosphere anyways And majority of it not all is not because some careless person went in vacation and left his chocolate wrappers and juice boxes behind. Unnecessarily littering space is another thing like testing missiles to blow up satellites and creating a big debri field for no real good reason. If a few sats get damaged due to collisions with space junk then that's just the price to pay. But right now it's pretty rare. The ISS space station has been in orbit for 20 plus years now and very rarely does this happen. Last time it did. They literally plugged the hole with there finger and later some duct tape. No I'm not joking you can look this up So we should deprive the world from free internet because a few astrophotographers might get some sat trails in their pics? But they sure are curious about we are up to. As for the rest, it's just more sky is falling sensationalism

Lift the car up. then first hold the tyre at the 3 and 6 o'clock positions and jiggle it then the 12 and 6 and do the same 5o check for play. Then Take a tie rod and jam in between all the bushes and give it push and pull and see which bush has excessive play or is visibly cracked or squished

Getting bored of these G vs Zuk videos from wowcar -
Sounds like a wheel balancing issue Possibly amplified by some worn bushing or bearing

What it would like to be a multi billionaire. You buy a few houses you like, all the cars you like l, clothes watches phones etc etc and then buy your family the same then your friends. But then what do you do. You don't really have to work anymore and you don't have to worry about money anymore. Then what do you do? You've all the toys you wanted to and played with them as much as you wanted to. I would get bored of being so rich. And then I understand why people like bill gates live so simply and donate so much money because if you hear anyone rich and who is a decent person they say the biggest satisfaction comes from giving back to the community and the people. At the same time I also understand all the crazy shit some people do. Simply because they are bored and do pretty much anything they like. We think what if I could xyz. They think it but also have the ability to do it. So they do

The first time I actually saw a BMW X5 was in the sand behind big red accompanied by a similarly new for that time G wagon. In another defunct club one of the members ride was a G and he went every with it and no I'm not talking about Big T although he also had one. -
Hummer coming back as GMC Electric Pickup Truck
desertdude replied to Gaurav's topic in Hummer Forum in UAE
The H1 was never officially offered for sale here hence the dearth of parts. But in all reality the H1 is one of the hero cars which looks goods but when you drive it, it's real shit. Cramped interior because the entire transmission and drivetrain is up in the cabin. Slow as fuck and pretty hard to drive in the dunes -

This carwow dude is going to squeeze as much YouTube content out of the G wagon as he can to pay for it from YouTube videos. -
AFAIK and this is all theoretical knowledge as I've never been in the pilots chair even on one of those full fledged simulators ( would love to though) some aircraft will almost rotate on their own and have a hard time keeping their nose down one they reach V1. Some even have to keep the yoke pushed forward a bit while on take off roll to keep it planted until the right time.

Yeah, I try to be as reaslitic in my armchair piloting as I can while flying my 777-800ER ( in my flight sim of course ) Another thing I failed to mention is wake turbulence specially of the heavies so speration is critical. btw any good (free) source of latest airport charts with SIDS and STARS specially for OMDB and also a detailed tutorial of how to program the 777 FMC I think I've got the grasp of pretty much 80% of it. I can program the route, set performance, Vref speeds, Des forecast, takeoff performance etc etc but there are still many thing I don't understand and the manual that came with it isn't detailed enough.
-
Been hearing and seeing about this for a couple of years now and yet it has failed to take off.
-
Mid air collisions among planes have happened but now they are equipped with TCAS Traffic Collision Avoidence System. Rules state a minimum distance of speration horizontally and vertically between planes and ATC does a good job of doing that. Between ATC ( air traffic control ) and TCAS it's pretty hard for planes to bump into each other but there still close calls do happen as in minimum distance which is if I remember correctly is 1 mile vertically and 5 miles horizontally is breached. Not tail gating with feet to spare Just a few days back I read minimum distance between two commerical liners was breached Although ships sometimes do end up honking at each other

Well I'm going to put out an anecdotal experience out here. A friend has a company car which is a Touareg and they bought it new. Now it's has around 250k kms on it. And in all that time nothing serious has gone wrong with the car. Regular repairs have been expensive because since the company pays for it he gives it one of those flashy German cars specialists garages in Al Qouz. The engine and tranny have never conked out on it or needed anything really AFAIK he is still on all original ancillaries even like water pump, alternators, steering pump etc etc. The interior has had some minor issues like the dashboard won't stay closed anymore and cloth from the door cars is coming out. Someone dinged him in the back once and ever since his reversing sensors have worked properly. Once his driveshaft coupling gave way and that's about the biggest thing that has gone wrong on it I can think off

Strangest things you have seen on the road in UAE
desertdude replied to Barry's topic in General Discussions
I dunno if this counts but I once saw a guy in a Nissan Capsula doing rounds of what you guys call Iftar bowl with a fully grown Lion in the back. And we crossed him many times during the drive and even later at inflation where he let the lion out to stretch it's legs -
That's not "timed" that's just the life expectancy of xyz. Everything has one. Cars arnt built to last forever either. Specially to keep production costs down and profits up in an era where most car manufacturers are struggling to stay afloat. Unless if you are douche like Nissan who know their CVTs are faulty and yet keep producing and selling it to the public. That's a different story. Heard a major lawsuit is on the Horizon regarding this very issue

Actually if you look at it only Western Europe is the odd one out. Honking is a regular feature in the rest of the world
