  1. Almost 50k price difference and not to mention looks a million times better. Reliability wise its also good. We had two Tahoes in the company we used for daily safaris and for the two years we had them. They really had no issues. Arabian Adventures whole Safari fleet was Tahoes before until a new bean counter manager came in sometime back and switched back to LCs But what really did it for me was my Land Lord in rad Al Khaimah had a 1995 with 470k ish kms on it and he literally raped it on a daily basis in the Desert. Since he really didn't know how to drive off road properly he would be just abusing it. But even after all that it drove like a dream on road engine smooth and no creaks and rattles. And he was and probably still is a big cheapskate and spent only the very necessary money that needed to be spent on it to keep it on the road.
  2. For what? Making the ugliest cars know to man in the shape of the Nissan Juke i.e puke and the current Sunny
  3. Started of as a hobby and turned semi professional at it. Music production and sound engineering. Realistic Flight Simulator. Current weapon of choice. Flight Simulator X steam edition and favourite bird to fly the PMDG Boeing 777. Semi professional at video editing also but ever since I started getting paid work for it I stopped enjoying it so I stopped. Mostly because clients want a Hollywood blockbuster at late night cable infomercial budget. Wrenching on my and buddies ride is obvious of course. I would love to learn electronics as in where I can design my own PCB or maybe even start off with simple troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs on things like lcd tvs, mobile phones and motherboards etc etc. Also really really really interested in astronomy nowadays ever since seeing the Hubble deep space image and first images of a black hole. Still looking for that right type of telescope at the right price to come along
  4. You guys do realize this thread is over 9 months old
  5. Oh yeah totally forgot about factoring in the cvt issue as well. Might be better but by how much?. So these Toyota hybrids are nothing more than to keep the tree huggers happy. A polo or golf diesel probably gives better mileage too..
  6. A regular one starts at around 70 so no not missing the point. Toyotas are severely overpriced fact! How many years does one have to drive to cover the extra almost 30k spent in fuel savings? I've seen the latest hybrid Camrys as taxis. For them it makes sense since they rack up around half a million kms in a year or so there are fuel savings to be had there. My previous rental car was a Yaris. Pretty nifty car, very fuel efficient and pretty well equipped even for a base model but then I looked up the price and no way I would ever buy one new at 60k. Never! So yeah Toyotas might be getting snazzy in the sedan category but the prices are a huge turn off. Hence Corollas are being seen less and less on the road. The god awful Nissan Sunny is the flavour of the month for fleet and company cars now seems like. They are everywhere. They are cheaper at around 50k but they suck so hard it's not even funny! I've been stuck with one for the last 7 months!
  7. The last thing I would do if I had 92k to spare would be to buy a Corolla. Or any overpriced Toyota. I remember buying a Land Cruiser GXR for that much money. A fully loaded VXR was 112k. Now you get a Camry for that money.
  8. First order of business, do a full and complete service. Change all fluids and filters. Engine oil and filter Transmission oil Coolant Flush and refill new Brake and Clutch oil Transfer case oil Front and rear diff oil Check and test engine cooling system. Hoses and belts Plugs and wires Grease all joints and shafts where applicable So you have a good worry and problem free season
  9. That's why I love the old Land Rover V8 massive torque at very low rpms and a pretty flat curve across the entire room band. Having said that there is nothing in this world tougher than the LC pickup. P.S : Those are water and mud proof easy slide covers to protect the actual seats underneath. There are supposed to be loose fitting
  10. Best is to go to the desk of the RTA official and get it cleared out and he will explain who needs to pay what. Been twice in that situation recently and both times had to get the RTA official to adjudicate the matter
  11. Not only Mercs but BMWs Caddilacs Jeeps VWs GMC Chevy can all be found LHD. My Dad bought a jap import Caddilac STS with only 30k on the clock. And it was like it just rolled off the factory floor. Had to change the cluster language from jap to English was simple enough. Also came with a Mini Floppy Disc drive in the audio headunit. Also you will find LHD made in USA accord coupes which were exported to Japan and now here
  12. Unfortunately they make it only in RHD and don't export it.
  13. The E65 was ugly as fek in the first place, this just made it go overboard

  15. Japanese and kids instantly sleep in a moving car
  16. Because it's drive line related and what ever component is under stress get released when you let go. And the XJ is a whole different setup than the Honda you can't compare the two
  17. Yeah thats like what flat earthers says we see the world is plane and level so it must be flat and not a globe. Try a simple experiment, drive at 40 or 50 and then put your hand out of the window, with your palm facing the the wind and then flatten it out parallel to the ground. Now how much more effort was required to keep your palm open into the wind compared to when you leveled it out. That my friend is called drag and it takes a lot of power to move a brick through the air even at low speeds than something slick and slippery. You think car manufacturers are stupid to have let go nice sharp lines and edges and turned everything into a curvy egg to meet MPG and emission regulations !!! But don't stop your theories are always good entertainment here on the forum
  18. Just when you thought you've seen every gimmick
  19. More symptoms of Ajmanitus! Lol Dude you come up with some serious crock pot quack scientific theories!
