  1. Hi @redonettii welcome to Carnity and I hope to explain a bit about your shortlisted cars, so you can choose whatever fits the best based on my explanations. V6 Prado: Best combination of all the things that you expect from her, but minus the intermediate level off-roading in case you wish to do. It will be good for newbie to fewbie level, unless you trim or modify the front bumper. But it's adequately capable to reach to any decent level of off-roading (not extreme off course) in terms of power. For road it comes with comfy ride and features to check almost all the essential boxes. Y61 Patrol: Tiny bit lesser comfy for road, but super ready for off-road for any level in stock shape. And like Heisem mention super thirsty. I had older one 4.5 and on highway at 140 speed I could feel the fuel tank needle movement. Being 4.8 must be more of a fuel guzzler. Y62 Patrol: Best of all in terms of comfort and power but with limited off-road capabilities and unless you do serious bumper trimming, bash plates, lift kit etc. In stock state it's OK for newbie levels only if you drive it sensibly, the day miss the "sensibly" part front bumper will take a nasty hit. For fewbie level - I haven't seen any Y62 reaching there yet without breaking the bumpers, but recently seen 2020 Y62 model with very good clearance and they might survive better than the older shape. Land Cruiser: Same if not better than Y62 in terms of road comfort but with good off-road stance that can easily get you till fewbie drives without much headache. But again LC200 and Y62 are inherently heavy beast that require special skills to learn to offroad with such heavy cars. If you are buying this 4x4 purely for off-roading then I would highly vote for Prado or Y61 Patrol, because no matter which type of offroading you will "eventually" like after few months (sand mostly), these two vehicles will scale to those needs perfectly. Last but not least, if you don't have big family or big plans for visitors than SWB (short wheel base) Prado or Patrol will be more fun for off-roading in the long run. Short and nimble to go anywhere, light and powerful to scale to any off-road needs plus slightly lesser of fuel guzzler than LWB.

  14. Thanks @Lorenzo Candelpergher for bringing such great details and educating everyone on this new journey/challenge. After going through your above detailed post (super impressed) now I think I know nothing about filming, especially about drone shooting. But I'm happy to put my views as per my limited knowledge and experience. Feel free to tweak, suggest or optimize as you find it useful. My corporate experience was to manage the video shoot to highlight companies progress and focus on new stuff/achievements done by different departments. My main role was to liaise with all internal departments and video production company to develop a detailed script and then screenplay to lock it with CEO sign off to start filming and production. Learning from such straight story telling technique which always work to impress and share the progress, I think we can develop this video challenge in 3 different bits to form a fully constructed story telling of an off-road drive. This video will cover and highlight the scenic beauty, fun, thrilling and adventurous side that motivate all of us to be awake so early on Friday morning and coming back for our sand dose every week. If we can power pack this final video within 3 minutes (approx) without the boring details and highlighting the drone filming, angles, cinematic shots and offroad adventure, it will be nice introduction to our off-roading lifestyle with Carnity spirit. Preparation (20%) - 30 - 40 Seconds Cars arriving at meeting point Drivers start deflating and fixing flag Trip lead meeting everyone to check cars Comms check, radio briefing Convoy numbering and move Driving (70%) - 2 Minutes Convoy on the move Start slow - enjoy the beautiful view, serene desert, sunrise, desert track, wildlife, bushes, plants, tree, exotic birds, camels, oryx, gazelles, etc. Build the pace - focus on convoy moving at good speed and everyone enjoying the trail and challenges Doing the swings/rainbow Ridge riding Criss crossing Above story board idea + few more hundreds (lol) Stucks and refusal - show the struggle, challenge and teamwork with safety aspects Play area - Side sloping, hill climb - track and follow cars, aerial view, fly low and overtake shots - This is where we need drone shooting creativity and retakes for A and B roll footage. Ending (10%) - 15 - 20 Seconds Debriefing Feedback Inflation and flag removal Back to tarmac till next Friday

  16. Fantastic teamwork and God's miracle that no one got hurt. Risking so many people lives was insane for piece of metal. Standing on winch line was the most dangerous stuff. Anchoring 20 people on left is another daring act. Safest option: Push the vehicle in ravine and claim the insurance (if possible). Drag all the way uphil without course correction as under body damage is much cheaper than anyone life. Use the power of stuck Jeep as much as possible, which I don't see it in video. Many thanks to @Junaid Sayeed and his friend from Jeepers letting us recover Sheri's Pajero by safely anchoring.
