8.9 is pretty good mileage for Pajero and I hope these are the full fuel tank reading and not just random straight road couple of kms reading. I do have Pajero and being very old tech my best is 9.4 kmpl on total highway (full tank) Worst is 4 kmpl on total offroad (full tank) Average is 7 kmpl - Mix use(full tank)

Keeping theory aside, I'm driving this Pajero since 7 years with the working clutch and have been getting loud and audible cues whenever I push hard and the temperature drops back in no time.

Oh please, let me not start. Atif Bhai is very modest in calling his mere refusal or one stuck in 5 hours a trouble. And yours is not a bag full buddy, they are car full of troublesssss

After removing the new fake / non-working clutch, based on my mechanic advise I have gone with making old clutch as a direct clutch that is engaged all the time and results in slightly louder noise but offers the required cooling. On last Friday, 6 Oct I got a chance to test my Pajero overheating actual cause and instead of 3-4 hours drive we drove for 13 hours from 7 AM - 8 PM and Pajero didn't overheat or went above idle temperature gauge like before. In a couple of occassions, it went up very slightly (5% - 6%) and come back to normal temp within 1-2 mins after stopping. This all was tested with AC on, on all the time and in Sweihan super soft sand including the rigorous towing and dragging a super stuck car from 11 AM - 12 PM extreme heat. So hence this is proved now that it was just a faulty clutch and NOTHING ELSE was mal-functioning as doubted earlier.

Too sad to hear that Toyota quality has gone down so much, as people swear by Toyota reliability and utmost quality. Maybe it could be the just one-off case so don't give up and lose hope. In my eyes as a first response report a formal written complaint to the dealer, and if the response is not favorable or satisfactory then report to consumer rights.

Good initiative @baselsm83, well done for posting a newbie drive as it's time to share the desert too Please count me and Rahim Bhai, with full support for humous and kebab drive (that's my favorite). 34/26 degrees temperature looks nice too if everyone wishes to sit or bbq after the drive.

Big thanks to Asif Bhai for posting his first drive in such an interesting area that for first 3-4 hours we all had ear-to-ear smile on some most amazing set of dunes. This area needs to be explored lot more in the future. Asif bhai lead was so nice and tight that I almost felt that he has been leading desert drive since many years. With the precision of path and confident dunes crossing he demonstrated a true example of very responsible and confident leader. However, World's best start turned into World's challenging ending when we couldn't repair the bent rack-end without proper tools and spare parts.This gave us enough time to bond with each other and demonstrate excellent teamwork, trust, and coordination while dealing with any problem. This also resulted in bonus Saturday drive that we all loved so much, by calling a recovery drive to fool our mind and families to get a second chance of going to desert in a row. lol. Last but not least, we finally found out that those Pac-Man in google earth are grass growing commercial farm from Elite Agro farm and requires formal permission to enter into the private property. Maybe next drive we can plan the route around Pac-Man to enjoy lush green grass circles in the middle of a desert.

To be honest, I been to this few years back and all I have seen is next year release model from all brands in one place. So if anyone eyeing a zero km car purchase next year and confuse between few car model choices, then this is the best place. However, promoters there has zero knowledge about the cars and only good to hand over you the spec sheet or sales advisor business card.
