  1. Welcome back Jeh, very good choice of topic and suggested links. Never knew some apps are dedicatedly made to deter such behavior, impressive.
  2. I hope everyone is getting excited and getting ready for one of the most unique experience. Below current progress of digital work will make you even more excited. Car sticker Certificate of Achievement More to come in next few days
  3. I have already given my comment for anyone to take it or leave it, for just over 50 dhs difference i'll choose Mitsu Diamond ATF any day.
  4. Current: 1999 SWB, 3.5 liter Pajero Next: 2012 upward SWB Land Cruiser, whenever I retire my current Pajero.
  5. @waqaszohair drive one prado in offroad with us, and hope he must be able to help you.
  6. Imaan this list I extracted from 3 pages article of car connection magazine subscription, if you google it you will find their link. Treks, I totally agree with Merc B class comment, some car models are simply forced in the market and pushed down the consumer throat due to their parent brand value without much of class and substance. Vivian, it's good time to burn some petrol now as our next gen must be listening to petrol tales from us only or seeing it in the movies.
  7. Can you believe that all these below cars are out of production for 2018.....? Really strange but it looks like only extremely competent models will be available and others will be called off slowly. Chevrolet SS Dodge Viper (Seriously......!) Honda Accord Coupe Hyundai Azera Hyundai Accent Infiniti QX70 Jeep Patriot Mercedes B Class Mitsubishi Lancer Volkswagen CC
  8. Neither you nor me knows 100% what actually goes inside AC Delco or Mitsu ATF, so why take chance for 50 dhs. Like API certification, is just a baseline standard that every oil producer supposed to meet and that's why crappy brand of engine oil fails before 5k KMS and turn jet black, as oppose to good brands. You know what I am referring to "higher standards" and quality of additives or chemicals used to produce them.
  9. Yes it's same, but better buy the Mitsubishi ATF than AC Delco it's just a brand compromise I wouldn't advise if you love your Pajero. Of course cost will be double or triple, but you top-up or change ATF once in 3 years, so big deal....!
  10. I was in similar dilemma last year and went for same color paint, due to the need for an extra clear and shiny finish I was after. Btw, for repainting you need a police paper even if it's a same color. I wasted lot of time for that paper, search here and you will find the thread explaining all the details and it's one and only location to get it.
  11. No need to apologies Ren, as you were just helping me with best of your knowledge and experience. Later, I just explain my side to clarify and hope to get an appropriate help needed.
  12. @Ren13 people who know me well, they also know how big car fanatic and attention detail seeker I am. After spending half of my life in Dubai, I always double check everything when it comes to my cars, no matter whoever (technician / mechanic) touches my car. I check oil level every week in all my cars and same I have done in this scenario too, oil level was much between two lines just a tad shy than upper mark (great). Yesterday it was little below the lower mark. And gap between two lines is over an inch to let you understand the engine oil maths going around. I topped up with Mobil1 around 800ml and now waiting to observe further now. I have only topped up engine oil in my Cayenne turbo every 1500 kms, as advised in manual and as alerted by car in dash reminder "Low oil" other than that I never topped up engine oil until the next service - be it 5k, or 10k. This was indeed weird and that's what making me little paranoid that how why engine can reduce 800 ml in about 3000 kms in 3 months......?
  13. After so many years, stop driving in desert is oxymoron. May be you can join too as RAK and UAQ is not too far......!
  14. Thanks Treks for detailed explanation. I'm using 10w40 as it is recommended in owners manual and im using same since 7 years. This is the first time I used Shell or else I stick to Mobil 1, if not very occasionally castrol edge or magnum something. May be this blend is not suiting or due to excessive heat this blend is getting burnt.....! Will see what happen after next oil change. Thanks Barry, ill have a look at that crankshaft oil seal. Last it was still stuck at mild fever leak and not fully soiled about 3 months back.
  15. Wondering to know what all reasons exists for engine oil level to go down by 10-15% in 4 months? Last time for first time I changed engine oil to Shell 10W40 (semi synthetic) rather than Mobil 1 10W40 and continuously noticing that engine oil level dipstick was showing consistent drop week by week. It's approximately 3000 kms run out of its claimed life of 7000, whereas I change at 5000 due to extreme off-road use. There was no known leak spotted anywhere in and around engine bay. No oil spotting found on parking (solid concrete and tarmac) No coolant turned milky with presence of engine oil Engine color still shows half life (goldenish - brown) Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated, thanks in advance.
  16. My Pajero sunroof was having issues in closing and leaking. So barry opened it once and run the water through drain channel to open it so it wont leak anymore. After that I bought silicone spray to spray generously on all moving parts, cleaned rigorously tons of dirt, sand and grim and sprayed again. After 2-3 times, it becomes smooth and opening, closing without any issues. Try opening once with little hand push while pressing the button simultaneously and let it slide all the way back with hand push help and do the same detail cleaning. Silicon spray costed me 18 aed and an hour of elbow grease.
