@Barry apologies if I came too strongly on this issue. Just that I have seen the dirty side of it.
-
@Barry i didn't mention additives, I mentioned adulteration. If you ever go to Ajman / Sharjah Industrial Area you will find plenty of diesel tankers and one of the biggest business for the testing laboratories in that area is to check the sulphur content, flash point and distillation range of each tankers. Bigger companies that buy huge quantities of diesel setup their own in house lab to do the testing. I have personally worked in the Diesel business and I can assure you it's a complete mafia. Fuel distribution by private sector is not regulated by the govt. Also, just say I subscribe to CAFU monthly service and need a refulling 5-6 times a month, how is it that they would be viable by charging only AED 45 for this service ? For me the peace of mind of buying petrol at the gas station far outweighs the risk of buying petrol from a private party. That's what i mentioned when Carnity had posted the news. This was a very smart way to ensure that the rich don't have to wait in a line to fuel their cars. If they really wanted to implement the proper way there should be no separate line for self serving customers. Both lines can be combined like before. Anyone who needs the attendant to fill the petrol can be charged at that particular point. This would eliminate the line at Self Serving Station

If this is a private sector service I would not touch it, especially with the convenience of easily available petrol stations. You never know what kind of adulteration is done. During the heydays (pre 2014) when oil prices were above USD 100 per barrel, diesel used to be sold mixed with Iranian import diesel which had a very high sulphur content. Needless to say, what the high sulphur content would do to your engine. In the hands of private business and especially in fuel business, one needs to do only a little bit of adulteration (even 5%) to become a millionaire overnight.

" Error DC" on Pajero Sound system display
Srikumar replied to Srikumar's topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Forum in UAE
An update, this morning again when I started the car I got a Error DC message. After driving for about 20 mins, I stopped and turned on the car, that time the radio was again working fine. Is it a case of some moisture ingress which disappears after some time? -

Try to stay away from the car dealers...most likely you will get scammed...and they will definitely not let you take it to a garage as all the secrets would come out -

" Error DC" on Pajero Sound system display
Srikumar posted a topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Forum in UAE
Hi, I drive a Pajero 3.8l 2010 model with Rockford sound system. Today while starting the car, i heard a pop sound from my speakers and then noticed a message "Error DC" on the display of the sound system. There was no sound coming from the speakers and all the buttons on the radio where not functioning. After a couple of minutes some of the buttons started functioning but there was no sound. I turned off the vehicle for a minute and restarted. The same issue. However the bluetooth microphone was working all the while. At the gas station I turned off my vehicle for a few minutes and then restarted the car, and things were working back as normal. Since then I restarted the car a couple of times and have had no issues. But I was wondering if this "Error DC" is a warning sign that something in the audio system might break down very soon and should I be taking some precaution? Anyone experienced this issue before? -

Pajero is quite a capable Offroader. You only need to take care of the rear bumper aluminium lip which would most definitely come out. It's best to remove it so that it doesn't get damaged. There are only 4 bolts holding it in place. 10 min job. If you are unable to do it, we can help out at the meeting point. -

A long anticipated drive is finally around the corner. Ever since we set sights on Wagan in the beginning of the year I am sure in everyone’s heart, we were wondering when we would be returning back. Now, with the weather cooling off and on the occasion of National Day Celebration, Carntiy Offroad Club is celebrating it in its own unique version of having a drive through the absolutely amazing Wagan Dunes. And hopefully with a little bit of luck we would have found a nice set of dunes without hitting any fences. Plan is to have a full day drive starting from Al Wagan and ending on the other side near Umm Al Oush. Meeting Time: 8:00 am on 2nd Dec Location : ADNOC Gas Station : https://goo.gl/maps/89AN54b7tsA2 End Point : Umm Al Oush https://goo.gl/maps/ufdCxScTL4T2 End Timing : Around 7:00 pm on 2nd Dec Checklist: Your 4x4 should be well serviced and all lubes and fluid should be topped up 20 Liter fuel jerry can 20 Liter water can or equivalent water bottles Air compressor, tow rope, 2 rated shackles, proper shovel, flag, jack and wooden plank Please ensure that your car is in the best possible condition as this is an area that would definitely test your vehicle. Also, please carry the bare essentials for the drive so as to reduce the load in your vehicle. Please RSVP in the below Calendar Event

My dad's GMC ran on the original AC Delco battery for close to 8 years. Guess the AC Delco batteries that come with car are different from what is available locally. Local ones are produced in Saudi Arabia.

I have driven a 2009 camry and the mileage in stop and go traffic is about 8 km per litre. In a mix of city and highway you can get about 11 km per litre and in highway with cruise control you will get about 14-15 km per litre. Like stig mentioned a lot has to do based on your driving style. I started driving like an old granny with very light acceleration and cruising around highways at 90 km per hour, and I have been able to increase the mileage by about 25% compared with an earlier slightly aggressive driving style.

Hi Wilfred, welcome to Carnity. You can join the offroad club, link provided below and would receive the updates on the drives. We have a Newbie Drive every alternative week, and you could join those drives. Look forward to seeing you on the sand.
