  1. That's cool. Welcome Shrini. Most welcome to bring friends. I have a comprehensive guide to items for off road use, but I will recommend you to come with your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We will show you the equipment and even guide you where you can buy. Enjoy your first drive with us, you can equip yourself in the coming drives. Looking forward to meeting you and your friend on Friday.
  2. @emvarlet will be able to help you best, but normally Nissan Xterra is not known for problems.
  3. Total respect @Ren13 thank you for understanding and your pledge. Hope you enjoy sharing your upgrade with all. Looking forward to it.
  4. I second @Barry. Hateful remarks is not poking fun or cheerful banter. This is a car community for people who love cars. As Barry pointed out your interest must be some other type of vehicle so why don't you post something helpful there rather than hurting peoples sentiments by using hateful remarks in their passionate thread. Forum decorum must be followed at all times.
  5. Very good question @Jeh. Exterra is a very goid choice when it comes to off-road and on road drive combined, I feel maybe just a little uncomfortable for on road use only. It comes with only the 4.0 litre V6 option, with the petrol prices rising and for on road only I would prefer something like a Toyota Prado 2.7 litre 4 cylinder engine. More comfort and a bit of an advantage with fuel saving. If buying a second hand Exterra I would go for a 2010 model or newer with less than 150k on the clock preferable off road version if I want to take it off road. Simple car with not many problems and tons of fun to be had. First thing I would do on purchase is do a major service changing all fluids, oils, filters, plugs, belts, etc. Better safe than sorry. Just my 2 cents.
  6. Awesome @Barry you are an amazing person. Kudos to you for reaching a 1000 likes.
  7. Exactly what we need at the start of a season. An absolute newbie drive that will allow anyone and everyone to join and find their feet in the sand. Good choice of area also, just what the new comers would feel comfortable in.
  8. Thanks@Gaurav. I have tried and tested many maps for off road use on android but none of them come any close to Motion X. Unfortunately this app does not exist on Android and is for IOS only. Finally the other day I stumbled on ViewRanger and this allowed me to save the track you send me in KMZ format. I was able to change it as route and it allowed me to follow the track while on the drive. I still am not sure how to read the terrain on ViewRanger and my other thing is the screen keeps timing out. Other then that it's been a relief to have a half good app as it can only develop for the better. Hope this helps.
  9. Most welcome to join us Barry. I really enjoy your company.
  10. With a long time off from the one thing I am passionate about, it was the perfect time out. Thank you to Gaurav bhai, Sreekumar bhai, Shafeeq bhai for providing the excellent company. A very important decision was to be made even before starting the drive and an educated decision meant I had Shafeeq bhai as my companion and co-driver. He took it very sportingly. The terrain is amazing and challenging at the same time. With a very able bunch we were able to manage the terrain with no stucks. After finishing the expected route with everybodies consent we continued towards the Qudra Lakes. Half way through we stopped for some snacks and some cold refreshments. During the break we had some very interesting discussions which engaged us and opened pur eyes to new possibilities. After a very good session we continued to Qudra Lakes, exited, inflated and back to our humble abodes. But not before 1 major stuck to make sure nobody complained about the drive being a boring one. Until next time stay safe and enjoy every moment in life.

  15. I don't know how I survived 3 weeks without a single drive. It wad tough, but I'm back. Excellent lead by @Gaurav bhai, excellent second lead by @Shafiq bhai, @shadow79 followed most of the instructions, while watching @Asif Hussain was like my whale watching trip in Boston. The Ford floated through the sands as a whale swims through the sea. Excellent trip with loads to do as sweep, but mind was still half asleep with just 2 hours sleep after a 14 hours flight. Well done everyone.
  16. I would live to come, but due to having a holiday already, not sure if my work place will allow. Will need a couple of weeks to firm up my participation.
  17. Hearty congrats to @sertac and @EmVarlet for being recognized as stars which they already are. Well deserved.
  18. Does look like a shopping cart.
  19. A must visit at least once, you can decide if you would like to visit it again. It is deserted place so make sure you go with at least 3 4x4s hopefully with at least one person aware of driving in the sands.
  20. Just an idea at @Atif, why don't you use an air compressor fro Dragon Mart for under AED 200. It will help you to blow all the dust away and will be useful in case you loose tyre pressure for any reason.
