@Srikumar it was a 5 speed manual till 2004, they changed it to 6 speed manual from 2005 onwards, but that is only for manual, if auto than its probably the same. Plus 1999 - 2004 they came with Dana 44 axles which were amazing and bullet proof as is the 4.0 engine. But i have driven a a stock 3.8 Unlimited fully loaded Jeep Wrangler up Iftar Bowl. Later on i noticed that it had already done 200k kilometres, so I really like the 3.8 litre version also.

I was tempted to say go for that one. On a serious note can you please share more details. Whether they are stock or have any mods on them, are they automatic or manual and how many kilometres on them. Have you test driven either one, what si the asking price for these. Most importantly which colour they are. We all know that depending on the colour of the vehicle you can get extra power locked in.

@Zed I would be worried looking at that. Why would you like to drive into a wall after buying a brand new Jeep. The only thing I feel comfortable with is the dummy who drove the Jeep into the wall was safe and the cabin did not deform, the airbags went off at the right time which means the dummy only lost some paint on the airbag.

@J J unfortunately the present circumstances do not allow us to be ourselves, slowly but surely some restrictions are being lifted. After we have fought this battle to come out of Covid19 we will celebrate with Aloo Parathas and chai.

I am wondering how much they charge? If there is a different price as compared to the normal saloon versus an SUV or 4x4? How many people allowed in a car? Besides the first 2 people in the car, none of the rear seat passengers will enjoy the movie anyways. If engine switched off and there is some window left open from Ski Dubai for some coll air, but I heard you have to tune in your car to FM Radio for the audio, for one you will loose your car battery with 2 hours FM radio and car switched off. Do they have cable boosters to get you started if your battery fails? Secondly, you better have a good car audio to enjoy the movie. Another thought that comes to mind is buildings close by can tune in to FM radio at home and enjoy the movie for free.

My question is regarding Electric cars can they charge themselves while watching the movies, If not what will happen if they run out of battery while keeping the AC running.

@J J just not the right time for me. Every time I want to join something goes wrong. Unfortunately i am dealing with a family emergency and will be back to the sands as soon as all is in place for me.

@Denizzalbayrak would recommend that you join 1 trip so that someone else may have a chance to join one of the drives. We would recommend to join one drive only. But keep following the drive thread you are aiming for, if until Thursday close time there are still spots available, you can join the second drive also as a one of case.

As repeatedly said by all X-Terra has to be the number 1 choice by default, however 200K is too much and I would like to get something in that price range and model, but with max 120k or 140k kms and not more. First thing i will do is get it completely checked, cleaned, change all oils, filters, plugs wire sets, hoses that are hardened over time or even cracked. All rubber parts and bushes that need to be changed. Slap on Yokohama Geolandar AT-S and drive like a boss. Wrangler is for full unadulterated fun, but where the vehicle is very capable, it is not as comfortable. My only concern is that if you learn driving in a Jeep it is very difficult for you to get used to lesser vehicles. The Jeep has many mods available in the market, someone once told me just like a Harley Davidson a Jeep is built and not bought. The 4.0 litre engine on it is bullet proof and has a very good gearing as well. I would prefer a Jeep Wrangler from 2001 model to 2004, rather than 2005. Seems they were the best built ever. But condition would be paramount as it can be very difficult to maintain and rather expensive to maintain as well. If I really wanted to learn off-roading by challenging myself and yet having something very capable, i would go for the Pathfinder, 3.5 litre is strong enough. As I love challenging myself mine is a 3.3 litre version. You will have a lot of choices to make some cheap choice for mods or proper ones that will not cost you an arm and a leg. I find my Pathy pretty comfortable and it gives me enough torque to get me out of situations and get to to most places without breaking a sweat. As for diff-lock with E-Terra you will find the rear diff-lock on the Off-road version. it is not a deal breaker, but if you can keep watching out for the ads and prepared to negotiate and bagain you will find a sweeter deal than the ones listed.

Does look coll and well done, but 2 wheelers' were never for me.

The Toyota Tercel, I still see a few around and the Toyata Cresida, i have 2 near my house, one in white and the other is Maroon.

I always have had a love/hate relationship with the Supra. I fall in love with the 1985 Celica Supra I laid my eyes on the first time, but as time went on the shape of the Supra really impressed me in every way. Not being a rich kid, I could only afford one on a Playstation game and build it to my hearts content, but really hated the handling on both the Toyota Supra and the Mazda RX7. Plus with AWD the Nissan Skyline R34 was my favourite with a special corner for the Mitsubishi Evos. With all the negative banter around how Toyota and BMW got together to build this I was really put off by it. Never even bothered to read about it so I was surprised to hear that people felt it was slow. But really good to know and a few things cleared in this video for me. Love the fact that the forged parts in the engine means that it can support 1000 hp. Maybe I can afford one in about 20 years time if there are still any left. My retirement gift to myself.

@Arsalan Ehsan regarding the FJ Cruiser, I am not too happy with the view from the cabin and the suicide door is horrible for malls and tight parking spots. However if you test drive one and fall in love with it, go for it. I would recommend post 2010 models even if you have to pay a little bit more. I do not like the balance and softness of the stock suspensions, so first thing to do is change them to Fox suspensions, somehow that 2 inch lift you get has a much better balance. I have seen FJ Cruisers flipping on a plain surface. Toyota Land Cruiser 1998 - 2003 - Both V6 and V8 are really good, however the V6 is slightly better due to the power to weight ratio. Also the 5.7 V8 gives you the torque on high rev bands rather the the 4.7 V8 which gives you torque at the lower revs as required. Mind the fact that it is a heavy car and it will take some getting used to the boat in the desert. Nissan Xterra is also best after 2010 models, I had also heard about the coolant and oil mixing due to some wrong setup by Nissan in pre 2010 models, but for the Pathfinder models and not Xterra, however post 2010 models would be perfect. If you can find a clean off-road model it would be amazing. Nissan Patrol 2003 - 2005 models are very steady, I would recommend the 4.8 litre V6 version solely due to the power which is required for the heavy vehicle, and the gear ratio which is better than the 4.5 litre version. As for the maintenance costs, it does not make that much of a difference, all these cars are easy and not so expensive to maintain. Remember the general rule is the more expensive the car, the lesser the cost of maintenance and vice versa. the expense is not a particular part cost for one vehicle versus another. For instance for my Pathfinder a tire rod end is AED 100/-, but for a Land Cruiser the same part costs AED 400/-. But if you see the quality the Land Cruiser is 4 times thicker and stronger. So eventually the Land Cruiser tire rod end would last 4 times longer, in that case with the labour cost I will end up paying for that part 4 times as compared to a Land Cruiser owner who will pay for the labour only once. That being said does not mean I have paid for it 4 times already. over time you learn to adjust your drive style to your car and a good driver not only knows how to drive, but also the best way to drive the car to save it from heavy repair costs. Thus my model of Pathfinder is available under AED 10k, but a Land Cruiser will cost you over AED 20k for the similar model. You need to be mindful for the age of the car as well and how well it was driven and maintained. We have a few grandpa in our club, @Srikumar has an XJ '97 model, @Gaurav bhai has a Pajero 1999 model and I have a Pathy 2001 model. As long as you maintain it well it will run well. Being an older model get everything checked and changed from all oils, to wire sets, to rubber hoses to all filters so you have a peace of mind. Being machine it will give trouble at times, but learn to be more attentive to the details and you will be able to save a lot of cost by replacing the parts at the right time. Hope this helps.
