@Wrangeld you really paint a picture with your kind words. When I'm reading your material I wish it would go on forever. No wonder @Jeepie fall for you, because it's only words and words are all you need to take our hearts away. This time the pics posted by @Ale Vallecchi are the only competition to your words. Both go hand in hand to let the people know what a brilliant time we all had. Special mention to @Srikumar who went to all extremes to balance the 3 convoys perfectly. To @Frederic for taking up the challenge of leading his first newbie drive and succeeding in doing so with flying colours. To @Shamil, @Ale Vallecchi, @Tbone, @sertac, @Jeepie, @tjsingh, @Roshan Abraham and @luwaimn for taking on the extra responsibilities like second lead, in the middle and sweep duties. As the people keep getting added so do the pressures on how to keep all safe, but with excellent team work and understanding from the new entries we are able to carry on with no incidents. Very proud to be a part of such a team with one huge heart. Thank you all.

I had bent rims on my Jeep and Al Mansoor Tires behind Gold and Diamond Park repaired it for me.

Who me, I only bother myself during passing to wash my car. It's that time of the year. I pay AED 105 at Enoc near Marriott Jadaf. Once in a while I pay AED 37 to any car service station in Sharjah if I can't see where I'm going due to the dirt on my car.

@Pickey Singh you are a lovely person with a pure heart. I tried my level best to save you by using scare techniques. But you had set your mind and ignored all my warnings. Check with your doctor I'm sure he'll confirm that the sand bug has bitten you. You're officially addicted to sand driving.

Trip report - woke up to a beautiful Friday morning full of anticipation and nervous energy. The only thing to calm my nerves was that either @Frederic or @Srikumar will be by my side. Reached the meeting point to see the petrol station full. After a few minutes we were asked by the attendant to move out which we did. Within a few minutes we had reached the deflation point and filled in place. Everybody was patient during the briefing and seems like they picked up all points as we hardly had any refusals and no stucks. After the deflation @Srikumar had the convoy numbering ready. As we took off with some easy track and slowly build up the difficulty level. It was easy for me to up the level as everyone was applying what was discussed during the briefing. There was a little drizzle which refreshed everyone. We came across Our play area and decided to stop for 10 - 15 minutes, but having fun didn't realize how quickly time flew. Our break towards the end was blessed with so many good food, drinks and refreshment we were spoilt for choice. We also reviewed and tried to recap and understand how we applied the briefing to pur advantage during the drive. With prayer time close we had to pack up and headed to the petrol station. A lovely drive with lovely people, looking forward to many more with you all.

I like the looks too, looks like a muscle car gone off-roading. Totally agree with @Wrangeld though.

@Xaf coming from Dubai to Sharjah keeping Sahara Centre on your right cross the first signal and Walla you will see a lot of tire shops with used rims and tires. They are all Iranians so just be careful and inspect a few tire shops and prices to go ahead with your purchase.

Last year I was coming from Dubai to Sharjah on E311 in the third lane. Unfortunately for me there was a car stopped in the 3rd lane and with moving traffic I could not shift lanes and had to stop behind him. I was surprised when I saw him come out of his car in the middle of the road, as he approached me I opened the window and all he could say was Petrol. He was smelling drunk and I tried to maneuver myself around but with the heavy traffic moving quickly around me I couldn't. This guy walked back to his car and let the handbrake go in neutral, with the angle on the road his car gently but firmly hit mine creating a dent. At this point I called the police and informed them they had to come as this guy was drunk and walking on the road without understanding the dangers. A good Samaritan stopped to get both our cars onto the hard shoulder, but all this guy could do was say Petrol. Once the police came in they issued the accident report, and recently asked us to drive off and they would handle this guy as per the rule of Dubai. Unfortunately people get drunk and still feel they can drive without any incidents, unfortunately for this guy, he forgot to fill in his car tank before he filled in himself.

Back in the 70s UAE had one lane going into Dubai from Sharjah and one lane on the return. Sheikh Zayed Road was similar. Sharjah and Ajman have always had cheap housing and Dubai always offered jobs for all. The traffic in those days used to be just as bad. Come the 80s they made 2 lane roads Dubai to Sharjah, with Garhood bridge added to the 2 lanes on Maktoum bridge. Traffic has always been somewhat tough and honking has always been the first language spoken on the UAE roads. A sample of it is UAE residents are too lazy and even for a can of Pepsi would honk at a grocery store to get it for them.

I loved the Suzuki Pikes Peak. I did some research and it turns out it's a souped up Vitara. I remember beating my brother at the game against all the cars in his garage. My second most favorite car was the Mitsubishi GTO or the 3000 GT twin turbo. The Mitsubishi FTO was smaller but fun in the game too.

@Xaf I was in bed sleeping. Seriously I just returned from Karachi and had an issue getting myself and my car started. All sorted out on Saturday and back in action from this week. @Wrangeld amazing write up. Usually I enjoy reading through your write up recalling each moment of the drive. Sharjah industrial area is full of them, but I don't think you'll get what you're looking for. You need to check with scrap yards dealing with Pajero parts. Gaurav bhai can help you with the best scrappies for Pajero.

I thought the German rules were very strict with mods that all their mods to be certified by TUV or something.

You can try cheaper second hand tires from the second-hand tire market in Sharjah and get a feel before investing in more expensive options. Metal bumpers and winch will weigh your car down from front end. I too was thinking about putting in a custom box but it too will weigh extra plus will restrict you for space for other things. I opted for a web tie down and keeps everything securely in place. Go for the supercharge.

@desertdude I've never let these things bog me down either. Just being very honest to the cost of owning my cars. Coming to think about it I missed out on my Japan imported Mitsubishi Eclipse 1991 GSR4 turbo tuned by AMG. I bought it at AED 13500, only a one time clutch plate, pressure plate and thrust bearing replacement, used it for 3 years and sold for AED 5k. Total cost for 3 years was about AED 10k. But it was the most enjoyable drive once the turbo kicked in.
