  1. I love the way those cars look, probably because i am a fan of Dexter series. But definitely not for off road.
  2. I am missing my Jeeps too bad. Nissan definitely not giving the same feeling. Not even close. When i was driving my XJ i was feeling pride to have it. Now Xterra like another Japanese crap on the road.
  3. Man please don't show me Jeep project cars. You are pushing me to start another one I might not be able to resist if i see a 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9.
  4. Big no. If you are crazy about these cars and can spend on them blindly over their own worth. Then you can buy. But if you are not Jeep fan stay away these are not good for you. I am seeing in your profile you are owning a 2011 Xterra. Thats perfect car for the purpose you are looking for. Dont look any further.
  5. Problem with Xterra when i adjust my seating position(I am driving near to the steering wheel) my left mirror is not turning out as much as i need it to turn. I am always having blind spot issue with Xterra. My Jeeps was ok for that.
  6. Jeep Grand Cherokee heating issues can be solved easily but Jeep Grand cherokee and ''i want to spend weekend in dessert not in workshop'' is not matching Cheap Jeep means being best friend of your mechanic. In your case you can look for 2008-2010 Xterra or 2007-2011 Pajero with that budget.
  7. %99 of Xterras you will find will be 4x4 some of the American imports might be 4x2 anyway get a GCC car for piece of mind. Off road version is full option package. It has better suspension and diff lock. Most of the Xterra owners here doesn't have Off Road package including me. It is not necessary. Try to get low mileage nice example it will serve you well. If you find a clean, low mileage Off Road package that will be the best deal. Try to get above 2011 model. Before 2011 models there is an issue called SMOD(you can google SMOD Xterra). Which means gear oil and coolant getting mixed in the radiator. But some says GCC versions are not effected. Personally i tried to avoid that and bought 2012 model.
  8. In this list i would go for Y61 Patrol. It is all in one kind of very capable beast. Also i believe you will love to drive that on road as well. In this country Patrol means getting Respect on the road. Y62 or Land Cruiser will be very heavy unless you need that big of space. Prado V6 can be a good choice if you are sure you not goin to go for higher level drives. Fortuner basically Hilux truck with closed bed. It is very capable but i don't think it will be much comfortable. Pathfinder new models are useless. Pre 2015 models are also not very capable unless you trim the bumpers and lift it. But you can look for Xterra. Xterra as well closed bed Nissan Frontier Truck. It has minimal comfort, but very high off road capability.
  9. @Nivin you really deserved it. Also congrats for everyone who got promotion lately. It is really hard for me to write every topic one by one but i am writing from here. Many congrats to everyone.
  10. I have added skid plate and proper tow hook. For kill switch, i haven't felt any difficulty with abs for traction control so far so haven't done it yet. I will see later. About skid plate i was very obsessed to keep the original look. I haven't found the older type of skid plate but i used uncoated aluminum and glued the plate to the original location. With this it doesn't look that odd to me. https://ibb.co/X86M2s0
  11. I am having a small car and SUV both. I am hardly getting any tailgating. Key is i am always driving on the speed limit, which makes me most of the time fastest one on the road and i am leaving the left line empty as much as possible. Cars i am seeing tailgated are driving on the 2th lane 90km at 120km road. Or on the left lane 100-110km on 120km road. They are thinking they are fast enough. There are freaking 6-7 lanes on the road they are acting like there is only 2 lane available. Most of these people are not moving right unless you get really close to them, even right lane is totally empty!. If you keep distance with them they are thinking you are alright behind them.
  12. Now I am getting the car washed after 1 leaders lead drive I saw the original radiator protection of the car is bend. It can't be more clear why skid plate is a must for Xterras. https://ibb.co/zHpdD8P Below as well my rear tow hook. https://ibb.co/KbWS57n
  13. We have a lot of Xterra users in our team. We don`t have a thread putting together all the must modifications for Xterra. Lets discuss them here to have these documented all together under one thread. - Skid plate Since the radiator is sitting too low at Xterra this is one of the must to do modification to protect your car. What to be careful is to have one with radiator brackets. - Towing Points Many people are mentioning original towing points are not strong enough. Is anyone done this modification can explain what to do what to be careful? Is front and back both needs to be changed? Last leaders lead my back towing point bent a bit and touched to the bumper. I am willing to change it with something heavy duty. - Kill Switch I personally don't have one. I am just closing the traction control button when i start off roading and i haven`t had any issues so far. Many says this is essential, why? I haven`t had any difficulties so far.
  14. I am following the whatsapp group but these days no one is selling one. I will be on hunt.
  15. I am as well looking for a skid plate. I don't like the ones turning front and having xterra logo on them. I want something shorter to keep my plate on original place but I don't know where to get those. I like keeping the look as original as possible.
  16. As a Jeep guy i am driving a Xterra just because it is logical. One day i am sure i will go back to Jeep. 2012 Wrangler is not new. Surely you will face some issues. On the other hand Xterra very reliable. It is your choice between a car with a soul but need some maintenance time to time or car is not fun but reliable.
