  1. I have to be out from this drive also. Everything goes against me going off road these days.
  2. For a Wrangler best engine is 3.6 than 4.0 than the last is 3.8. So engine wise i would blindly go for a TJ. But if you going to use this car as daily also, you may prefer JK which is much comfortable than a TJ. But if it is going to be only weekend fun car 4.0 TJ will give you a smile. If you can afford 2012 above model which comes with a 3.6 than i will say go for it.
  3. Seems like a nice Jeep but 30.000 is a lot of money for that if you ask me. Now we are end of the season, you should be able to get much better price for a TJ. I can say a TJ should be around 15.000-22.000AED price range. If it is in immaculate condition than you can consider giving 25.000AED. Of course this is just my idea.
  4. As an old Jeep driver i`ll tell you why i am driving one. In my off road experience i witnessed some wild situations. I know our marshals will say i am making people afraid but thats my experience. There is good chance while dune bashing you may flip your car, you may hit another car, you may fly over the dune with your car. I even saw while trying to tow other car you may brake your car`s chassis. All of these things are what i experienced over last few years. I personally flied over a dune and smashed the front of my Jeep. In such case my car is worth nothing to me, when you compare the car value over my income it is nothing. Today if i total my Jeep tomorrow i will go buy another one, simple. Think like this how would you feel if someone T boned your Patrol while off roading or how would you feel if you fly over a dune a smash the from end. There you will find your answer. People might say old cars need lots of maintenance, indeed they need lots of maintenance. Also when you calculate the depreciation of new car will cost more than a maintaining an old car. Basically my Jeep wont lose more value than it already lost.
  5. I wont be able to be there. Anyone interested can take my place. I am exiting the RSVP.
  6. Personally using 20w50(mineral oil) for new generation engine is not logical. But since they already used 20w50 before you should follow that. Otherwise you may notice your car will burn oil.
  7. No this is new. I got bored and i remember the days i was going all around the country for off road drives. On the way i was enjoying the scenery. I wanted to see what is in there. This time i drove that direction. Next time i will drive to Ras Al Kaimah, i will drive around village areas. My wife likes seeing camels walking around.
  8. I was driving on this famous 160km Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia road. For one moment I tried what this old boy can do.
  9. Fred there are lots of scrap yards full of these cars, you can fins the ECM second hand also.
  10. Why you not considering getting almost new second hand one. You can negotiate more and your resale loss will be lesser. There are many low km almost new Volvo`s around.
  11. I decide to change it anyway. My wife is driving it mostly. If it fall on the road she might have unpleasant time.
  12. Hi guys; Today i noticed deep cuts on my front right side tyre at my SLK200. Any idea why this will happen? Also is this look safe to drive or should i change immediately. If i am goingto change i am thinking about Continental Contisport5. Where i can get a good deal at Continental tyres?
  13. @Salarios Great story, thanks for sharing. When this Covid thing over we should get together all petrol heads and makr something like cars and coffe. We can show our cars to each other and have conversation about them.
  14. Can you share more photos and tell us the all story about the car? I believe there are a lot of E36 fans here.
  15. If that car wont tick 400.000km with original engine, i dont know anything about cars. Also the car i said i am thinking to change with this one is 227.500km now.
  16. https://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/volvo/v-class/2020/4/29/volvo-v70-2015-gcc-2/?back=L21vdG9ycy91c2VkLWNhcnMvdm9sdm8v&pos=12 Seeing a T5 Volvo V70 in this price made me think of selling my car and getting one These are amazing cars, for this price it is like free. Only 5 years old luxury, comfortable and quite fast car for that price is not possible.
  17. If we were living another location i wouldnt even consider Infinity over a Volvo. My Grand dad used to had a S60 2.0T, bought at 120.000km sold at 230.000km it was just amazing. In UAE, it is sad but dont even consider having a Volvo. Just move with Infinity it will be great for here. If price is not high consider also Lexus it will be even better than Infinity.
  18. If you think you will start offroading by October-November better to wait for summer. In summer you will get better deals on off road vehicles.
  19. I find chance to try FJ`s crawl control and A-Trac few times. It is actually doing what you need to do for you, when get stuck. For newbies it is good for self recovery. Few times when i said ok now we need to air down, maybe even need to pull the car, car saved it self with minimal struggle.
  20. I want to move on of small Greek island. Maybe Lesvos, very close to Turkey.
  21. Hi Mike; Personally i am thinking you can do a Youtube channel about it showing people how you are flipping cars with success. If you do it with quality you will have good amount of followers, you will earn from Youtube and from Sponsors.
