Please withdraw your RSVP, if you find you are unable to join, so your spot can be taken by others in the waitlist. I’ve heard lots of complaints about the Coopers, mostly with premature wear and even slices of tyre coming off. Not sure if that was just a bad batch or not. Could be biased as well as the Coopers are usually used by heavy dune bashers and beadlock users, so that might explain early issues

When driving in sand only, hardcore AT tires have very little benefits because you want to have maximum flotation and footprint which is actually being achieved with tyres that have less thick patches/grooves. Mud terrain is even much worse and are a no-go for dune bashing unless you have a re-geared Jeep 392 During self a recovery situation however, a more hardcore AT tyre can perform better, as it "grips" the sand better so your chances of self-recovery increases. A second disadvantage of a hardcore AT tyre is the weight. The more mass your axle has to rotate, the more power you are losing on the wheels. Even a few kilograms will be noticeable if you are aiming to have a 4x4 that climbs the high dunes. Hence for that main reason if your 4x4 is slightly underpowered you are much better off with a lighter tyre, not a hardcore AT tyre. Take into account that on a SWB JLU Wranger like @Looper drives for example, the difference will be much lower, as he has 280hp and the car is very light. BF Goodrich KO2 which is quite heavy will not be an issue for his car. I've driven with Rydanz Raptor tyres for a while, and loved them in the sand. But the road noise and comfort was an issue, and i could not cope on long road drives.

Hi @JBojini we cannot advertise workshops here, so hence there will be little to no replies. I would recommend visiting some workshops that are not too far from where you live and have a chat with them, and look at the cars they are working on. You will generally find the following types of shops: 1. The squeeky clean (almost like a dealership) workshop. Could be great and you should get appointed to a capable service advisor and free cappuccino, but labor rates will be on the higher side, and you might be getting overcharged. Positive side is that your car can probably stay inside the shop while they are working on it, instead of being moved to a dusty parking somewhere. 2. Mid-level workshop, usually being run by 4-6 techs and one owner/supervisor. Can get very busy and you might have to chase them to get your car done. Could be however a good shop to bring a classic vehicle. 3. Workshop on a dusty sand floor. Could be either fantastic if the guy can focus solely on your vehicle and will fix it cheaply. But it could be an absolute nightmare as well. That reveals itself after using the shop for a while In the end, everything falls or stands for what you are willing to pay for. I have found and used workshops that were cheap but failed to notice or recognize issues that could have been fixed while the car was in their shop. I would have preferred in that case to use a shop that does a deep professional inspection and gets it over with, on a higher cost and more parts perhaps, but not having to visit that shop every week for ongoing problems.

If you want to retain a good balance of on-road manners and off-road performance, the Yokohama G015 Geolander is the most popular option amongst off-roaders. An All Terrain (AT) tyre will allow you to deflate a bit more and should also reduce the risk for a pop-out due to a more rigid side-wall. Other options which are great for both on-road and off-road: 1. Michelin LTX force. perhaps even slightly better than the Yoko's. A bit more expensive. Smooth as butter on road. 2. Bridgestone Dueler HT840 (is in reality a light AT tyre) Other options which are great for off-road and rocky terrain but not very comfy on-road (loud and heavy): 1. BF Goodrich KO2 2. Cooper Discoverer 3. Rydanz Raptor Above options are the first to come to mind

Your psi readings should not be affected, there is a TPMS sensor (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) in each of the wheels which the tyre shop will need to transfer from the old rims to the new ones. Be careful with counterfeit brand wheels (many of the so called Lenzo, OZ, and other famous brands) are knockoffs and are of very poor quality. We've seen members with rims that fell apart during offroading.

With too many cars in the driveway, and the plans to eventually start saving up to buy some property (unless i live in my car), we decided to sell our trusty Nissan Patrol Safari. I purchased it only last year, from a colleague who had it for 7 months and never took it off-roading. The owner before him was registered as a commercial owner and had it for 8 months only, this commercial owner sold it to Al Futtaim Auto Mall and that's where my colleague bought it from. Until i purchased it, it had zero off-roading history. The people who know me, know that i am very particular about my cars and how i maintain them. This car got all the needed maintenance from independent 4x4 garages in Dubai who know what they are doing. Only last week i completed the 80,000km as well. All invoices are available. I kept the car mostly stock and removed the front off-road lights and cold air intake to sell the car like i got it from my colleague. Just trying to get few more details: - Did you have a Check Engine light? Or only the blinking center diff light ? - Did you shift from 4LLC back to 4H in one go, or did you put the gear in neutral first ? - Did the orange light keep blinking in 2H on the way home ? Did it ever stop blinking even after restarting the vehicle ? Or does it only start blinking after about 20mins of driving ?
