Doubt it, from what I can remember stock jero size is 265 so its only a tiny bit bigger. I went fro 255s to 75s on my Discovery without feeling much change but that could also be the LR V8 is a very torquey engine starting from very low down in the rpm range
Stock for 18inch is 265/60/18
this size is 275/65/18 about 124mm difference in circumference. Huge tyre

I'm using 275 65 r18
Did you ever felt you are loosing torque with that upsize? While climbing?

The dobinsons have been good both on and off road. In addition to 2 inch dobinsons lift I decided to upsize the tyres which gave me an additional ground clearance.
Which tyre size you are using now?

I read heap of articles and already very confused on which way to go. Spacers are cheap but at same time I dont want to damage any underbody but also i dont want to spend too much for full suspension change when spacer can give that little lift. please help guys
There is an offer for Amada Xtreme complete suspension kit for 1800 for a pajero. Ok

Hey Derick,
Go for a full suspension system, and I'll tell you why.
1. Spacers will lift the body of the vehicle and not provide an actual increase in ground clearance (You are basically high centering the car and raising the center of gravity which is bad for cresting with no added benefit) (Refer to the pics below). A suspension lift is what allows for that ground clearance increase as you are lifting the car from suspension up.
2. Spend the extra cash and you will get a suspension which gives your performance! Fast paced rides on the sand will be smoother and the car on the road will have less body roll and a better driving style.
3. As far as Camber goes, don't worry.. A re allignment will settle that back to normal
- I myself am waiting to get the suspension lift done for my 3.8 SWB, Planning on going with the MRR Dobinsons (Expensive but I intend to keep the car for long + its fully tunable so with time I can get the car suited for my driving style.) Reservoirs will provide you with good cooling in the shocks so they don't fade!
You will always get what you pay for! 😆
Dobinson MRR excellent choice. 😍

Could it be AC filters ? I changed those 2 weeks ago in my Xterra and it was like if I got a new AC. Now it’s almost freezing in there.
Usually pajeros doesn't have an Ac filter unless we have installed one. But may be @LewisCocks90 you can have a check for it.

Hello All
Ive noticed that the AC on my Pajero has stopped cooling and is also making a whistling noise.
Can anybody suggest what might be wrong and if there is a simple fix? If not, can anyone recommend an AC technician in Abu Dhabi.
Thanks
Lewis
Is there any blinking on this light (fan Speed Button) ?

Oh, you recently busted it, I thought you were telling from your past experience.
Sorry to hear that, are you rebuilding or going for swap one? Which year your Pajero is?
Got a swap with 2014 gearbox
mine is 2012.

Well A/T light is never good and you should never drive when A/T light is ON.
Well, you were lucky that you just lost the transmission that can be rebuilt or replaced, but in some extreme cases it can heat up to an extent to blow off a hose and car catching fire from underneath. Impossible to tackle that fire unless you have fire extinguisher pointing at the base of a burst hose - extremely difficult to trace while the car is catching fire.
Yeah exactly.
Waiting for New transmission and will be back to meet you guys soon. 👍🏻

Is that the central diff lock light or transmission A/T warning light.....?
If it's A/T warning light, PLEASE DONT DRIVE and put it on recovery and let professional mechanic diagnose and change gear oil and filter first and see if that light goes away. Please explain if it's A/T light then we can advise you further.
@Gaurav perfect.
i am a victim for transmission heating and i lost it. 😔

I will always prefer the complete suspension kit change which is expensive but only needed when you are an regular off roader as the reach for offroad suspension is good compared to the stock.
Spacers doesn't feels good for me as we are adding another extra piece to your suspension( Coils ), But not the shocks, thus extending the suspension reach, compression. Best option is to save up and buy suspension.
@WiLfY you can explain it the best way as you have upgraded your suspensions to dobinson.
Automechanica is on June. You will definitely have some offers on offroad items.😉

Thanks for sharing your experiences so far @desertdude and @Javier M. Still waiting for feedback on other models, I didn't even know Toyota adopted CVT thanks @desertdude to add to my knowledge.
I hope toyota did as when i went for servicing 2018 model corolla for service they were mentioning some items need to be changed and later dropped that telling me its not required as 2018 transmission is CVT. I am not sure.

In my search for a family 4x4 for my wife a while back, I came across a very decent Gen 3 2004 3.8 LWB for 12k. I ended up going for a Gen 4 2008 3.8 because the price difference of 7000AED was in my opinion justifiable for a younger car with more whistles and bells, and much lower mileage.
The LWB is very good for camping and family outings, but for off-roading purpose a bit bulky and heavy, but hey it works of course. Lift-kit might come in handy if required.
Be aware that the cars you will find for 8-10k range are NOT for immediate high performance Off-road drive. You'll need to get a complete checkup done of suspension, engine, gearbox. Most probably another 3-4 kAED will go into that, and if you're unlucky like me that 250K engine will misfire or head gasket might give up the ghost and that's another 5-6 kAED minimum. Adding this up your 10k car comes close to 20k. I just want you to realize that old cars perform only as good as the care you or the previous owner took of them.
Excellent review. Old car - need to build up to make it sustainable for offroad conditions else will be in deep trouble.
👍🏻

Both seems to be good in terms of reliability and maintenance. I did not come across any decent PF 2002-2005 but came across few Pajero LWB. My personal choice was PF 2005 followed by SWB pajero. It is hard to find both in the budget of 10K. How about Pajero LWB for pure offroading let say 80% offroading and 20% of family outing or daily drive. i came across few LWB in 8-10K range with odo reading around 250K.
Yesterday there was a bidding for pathfinder 2005 in excellent condition Automatic (250k)odo and ended up in 10800aed.

Xterra is more expensive but, if you can afford a little more than 20K for a clean used one, you won’t regret it.
Seems like wanna make an Xterra Mafia here. 🤣🤣🤣

Well that takes away all the fun then, one more reason to go with a PF or Xterra
Pajero owners who had done Unichip Q is enjoying it a lot. No Rpm limiter nothing and boasts a gain of 25- 30Hp which makes the machine roaring.
Pajero in stock 👎🏻 But when tuned 👍🏻

I like cars regardless of the brand, not much of a fan of the big Pajero though but I like the one @Gaurav drives, its small and light.
I am sure there are shops that know how to fix that 🤔 Pajeros are very common here so I can imagine a fix for that
Dont think of it much. Need to rip off all the sensors or remap ECM. Wont be a good idea to rip off it. For eg.
Gen4 has rpm limiter 4.5 but Gen 3 vroom.
4 minutes ago, Rahimdad said:For the gearing issue there is some Omani fix which @eduardo had mentioned on the last drive. Maybe he can guide us better.
Oh yaa. @eduardo Omani Hack for gear holding in Pajeros. This is mostly applicable to pajeros from 2008-2011 which has gear issues.

Due to gearing issues with Pajero pre 2014 models, I would recommend any model after 2014. SWB your 20% family outing goes out of the window, only good for off-road and daily commuter. But if you are going to invest so much, better to keep an eye on the Xterra as well. I recently saw one from a first owner for AED 18k.
Gen 4 have a lot of computers and sensors restricting from roaring up. 😭😭😭

Same in a Honda Accord. If you keep holding the unlock button the windows would roll down. Good feature in the summers.
My dad's GMC has a remote start feature. Very useful in summer when the car would start and the AC would also start running. Helps keep the car cool when you enter
I recently found out for my Accord . It keeps on rolling all the windows and Sunroof. 😬

2005-2007. I dont mind any yeas. Do let me know if i need to avoid any particular model in case.
Its better to go for a 3.8 SWB 2006 Gen 3 because it has less computers compared to Gen 4.
3.8 has a diff lock and a lot of torque.

Which you will choose and why?
I am evaluating smartwatch evolution from last few years and I think now it has reached to a stage where I can ditch my old fashion timepiece due to sturdiness, battery life and varies watch faces available with these wearable smart watches now.
I'm not a smartwatch kind of a guy yet, so prefer to hear from someone who is using one on actual things to consider before buying your first smartwatch.
I'm confused between Samsung watch 4 - 46mm vs Apple watch 4 - 44mm.
Basically the answer for this rely on which OS version you are using IOS or Android?
IOS- Apple Watch
Android- Samsung Gear
