LED Light bar questions
M.Seidam replied to Christian Andras's topic in Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum in UAE
Roof LED bar is ain’t for regular highway drivers unless you go really slow which also not safe on highway ( low speed ) . This is the main reason why i preferred a front bumper installed one as well as a side shooters which I am happy so far even if I am the first car 😅 -

Good point @Felix Obst we can take this into advantage. However we might not be able to do all the manoeuvres we want as Safety comes first . Let’s see tomorrow it’s expected not to be as rainy as today but this will leave us a firmer ground and no slip faces to crisscross as smooth as usual . Nevertheless the good accompany and fresh air is all what I am looking for 😉

Recovery Point on Frame or Recovery Point in Hitch Receiver
M.Seidam replied to Cha's topic in Offroad General Discussion
For Xterra yes , not sure about pathfinder, and I have replaced the left and added a right one as well as I mentioned before. Two points that give flexibility in difficult situations as Sri mentioned . Planning to add front left as well soon -
The desert night drive is quite different than day light . Some people like it while others don’t . It’s different world. the visibility is reduced and limited so comes with that the pace is reduced as well as the distance between cars becomes closer enough not to loose track and minimise risks . In addition your senses become more focused and the vigilance increased . don’t worry Alfred , just check that your stock headlight high beam and your fog lights if present are working properly . And that should be adequate as we drive in convoy . We will say more about it during the briefing . It’s your decision eventually but if it’s me I would give it a try 😉

Recovery Point on Frame or Recovery Point in Hitch Receiver
M.Seidam replied to Cha's topic in Offroad General Discussion
For option one three bolts for each recovery point is required for option two as Fred said the load is distributed on minimum 4 for the whole block which is even better in my X Terra I still have the stock front one and still in good condition while the rare one I installed option one with three rated bolts for each recover point -
Dear Friends @Ashok chaturvedi @Felix Obst @Alfred Alinazar @Tom B @Peter Hager @Harshad Ashraf Thank you for the RSVP for this Afternoon Fewbie Drive in Al Qudra Desert . my intention is to have a relaxed drive in a Twilight time which is thought to be fascinating in these cloudy days. just few things i think worth mentioning as a reminder : the second part toward the end of the drive is going to be in the dark and a high beam light is sufficient and off road lights are not mandatory except for the first car 🙂. off course if you have them you can use them. there will be enough time for break and the most important one is at 18:55 were you can RSVP for your next weekend drive. should you need to exit your vehicle please keep your radio with you all the time and look where you step in the dark ( torch light advised ) : watch out for night creepers. last but not least please be on time so we can enjoy all the maneuvers attained for this level, ( side sloping , ridge riding and crisscrossing , bit of technical crossing in between areas of long range dunes ..etc ), while still in day light , as the pace and distance between cars becomes naturally slower and closer. looking forward to see you Inshallah . Cheers Seidam

Pre drive info This Drive is an ideal for an intermediate level and i believe can be the ultimate one for what a fewbie plus level can crave for after a fine adjustments attainable for the level off course. In this drive we will be crossing a long distance making a semi loop of three quarter almost, starting from Murqab heading east and south east crossing dunes which varies from low/medium to high ones at some times leaving the highly technical patches on both sides as we progress ,and across Faqa ( west part long range dunes , away from the eastern part which is close to AD boarder) and back toward solar running over long sabkhas but still in times clearing up some technical sections connecting them. if we are lucky we might pick up few sidys at little sweihan before we end up in Solar park our intended last destination where we exit there. please pay attention to the following points : Please come to the drive with full tank as this drive is long in distance and fine in performance ( no need for a extra fuel ) make sure that your vehicle is in its best condition with all the lubes and fluids checked ahead. Check your off road gear as well as your recovery points integrity please, the last thing we want , God forbidden , a tow point failure in case of difficult recovery situation. make sure your radio is fully charged , keeping a fully charged spare one the better Such long dives with various maneuvers at times may induce a motion sickness for some individuals. so please make a choice to select who can come as a passenger and who can stay home 😊 Be prepared of about an hour time buffer of extended time . last but not least , if all goes ok and according to plan and excellent response , and to spark an adrenaline in you from now , we may be able to close the ring and end in Murqab again.😅 This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely.
