As we all know the performance of any vehicle is how it handles in the different road condition ( speed , brakes , suspension , aerodynamics ... etc ) . for the newer version of Nissan Xterra I believe it’s a completely different one and incomparable to the X from 2006 till 2015 even for the ( 4WD ) titanium and platinum trims of it in terms of performance . I am really unsure how a vehicle of 4 cylinders 165 HP / 2ton can navigate the terrain we do? NISSAN-X-TERRA-CATALOGUE.pdf

DESERTS OF THE WORLD - Stories around the campfire
M.Seidam replied to Ale Vallecchi's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
10 years later .... In a weekend I and my wife paying a visit to our elder son’s house .. after a nice dinner my son’s wife prepared , we decide to have our dessert on the terrace to enjoy what was left from the reflection of the sunset on the landscape.... time for bed every one got to bed and next morning and as my biological timer to wake up at dawn for the prayer and never go to sleep after that. Walking on my cracking toes in an attempt not to wake up the folks... gently preparing my double espresso without sugar ( Lavaza has been always my second wife , she knows it and happy as long as it doesn’t go further 😆 ) .... watching the fascinating sunrise I leaned my back on the super soft couch and closed my eyes and just let go ... 10 vehicles unrecognizable from far away , though their flags to the contrary were familiar carrying the symbol of big Gray C in a red back ground enclosed in a black circle.... in a sec I wondered was it a dream .. when I opened my eyes the sun as It didn’t move as if it got stuck waiting for a rescuer ! ... I turned my head and as if a shock struck me when I read the title of a book on my son’ s side table DESERTS OF THE WORLD - stories around campfire by @Ale Vallecchi -

Underbody car wash after off-road drive
M.Seidam replied to Thomas Varghese's topic in General Discussions
My experience regarding OD in my X I keep it off ( dash bored yellow indicator for OD appearing ) while navigating tight technical and keep the gear on 2 , no hassle at all no lag and I trained my foot on the accelerator ( one variable only ) . I keep it on 3 while the space is bigger but the pace slightly faster like in F+ I never switch to gear 1 unless climbing / descending a steep long ridge ( also in this to start the gear from moving and not on the way ) in other words : fix your gear to what the situation dictates from the start and play with the gas control this way you grab the initial momentum and mostly won’t slip for on road D only and no numbers ( OD )😉 every one has his own style and what apply for one vehicle might not apply for another -

Hearty congratulations @Nivin Looking forward soon for your drives postings -
@Foxtrot Oscar Dear Angela please I am requesting you to add me on the manage ( or any of whom are more experienced from the intermediates with us if they agree ) as you see it appropriate for the drive. reason is the slot will accommodate the next on wait list , as of my knowing to most ppl going rarely will be drop out unless it’s an urgent matter appreciate and looking forward to drive with you Mohamed

And It will be my absolute pleasure to learn from you bro , bet on it @Ahab Shamaa 👍
-
@Ahab Shamaa trust bro being a doc is the only situation where I can’t unstuck 😁 Lets see on sat FJ vs X two beasts driven by passionate drivers what can they do 👌
-
It’s not wrong to have most of the offroad toys especially when solo ( not recommended being solo ) but what really matters is when to use and when not to use as in a particular situation one toy can be useful where in other might be afraid to say deadly!
-
Thank you @Ahab Shamaa it’s good to know about this type of soft terrain or sand dedicated anchor which could be useful for solo use despite its massive dimension. ( I am not saying that I am a lone desert wanderer 😄 fan ) however as @Frederic said and agree that you are governed by the situation and cresting ( my favorite stuck situation ) the proper shoveling and controlled gas is all what you need. and for this 👇 The hilift jack can be used even as a winch as well and anchor in same time ( not for sand terrain obviously , mountain maybe yes ) see you on Saturday inshallah 😉 cheers 🚙👍

@Atif actually you have a valid argument. however for our practice in sand rarely we need the max lift range for the reason you mentioned of the additional wooden blocks and not mentioning off course that we shovel under the outer side of the pop rather than lifting more. i hope this work really.
-
@Gaurav please is there a specific indication to the winching? I agree 100% that learning to acquire the skills of self recovery is number one , but it’s good to know them as well.
-
@Gaurav really I didn’t open the video . I want to guess or think , shoveling from under the car front or back depends on the inclination to let the sand fall toward you ( sand under tire not to touch in order not to loose balance , now we have all tires on ground and after that we start what ever is available low gear or diff lock ... etc
-
Exactly

-
Hi Aus i am not expert honestly in those. But what I think that ground anchor needs a solid ground and we are doing sands mainly . I have seen ideas in you tube of digging a hole in the sand and letting the spare tire in and Berry it as anchor to the connected strap to the winch . I think@Gaurav and @Frederic can give specific opinion for the indications about it . cheers
