My suspicion is that during the spark plug replacement and injector cleaning they might created a loose contact on the air pump, located in that same area.

If you error code is P0418, have a look here:

P0418 TOYOTA: Code Meaning, Causes, Symptoms, & Tech Notes (engine-codes.com)

Taking into account the problem only started after their works, i would be inclined to pressurize them on doing a real proper diagnosis, not just a reset.

Is this the dealership btw ?

    Hi Fredric,

I did my servicing from Al Nahda Auto, Ras al khor.

Actually there was one more issue (which I didn't mention b4) - after the injector cleaning & Spark plug repl. -> I started getting a slight delay in starting the engine from cold - that is, the engine cranked 2-4 seconds extra, before switching on. But this happened only when the car was resting for 12 hrs/overnight (not during when car was switched on, when it was in use). When I went to them a third time, yesterday, they cleaned fuel injector again -> & the delayed start problem went away (though it has only been a day)

Regarding the error code -> I didnt catch what it was (that was stupid of me)

I dont want to go back to them again - as they seem a bit clueless. (I am not sure if u are allowed but) if you can advise an alternate garage for me, that would be great (you can whatapp me on+971 502949628)

Also, I did some research - from the below video, it seems, this is a common issue in toyota/lexus - because of faulty fuel cap - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgUvPQg310E&ab_channel=TheDocMackCarChannel

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi All,

I have a 2.7L SWB Prado (2016) & I have completed 4 off road-drives with carnity (no other off-roading done on this car, prior to this - I am the 1st owner).

A month back I had done servicing of my car - which also included Spark Plug replacement & fuel injector cleaning. After 2 weeks (my wife was driving), suddenly she noticed that "VSC Off" & "Check Engine" Lights are ON. Because of which the car was not revving beyond 2000 RPM. I immediately took the car to the same garage - they ran the OBD & said the code came back pointing to the "Secondary Air Injector" - however it was evident they didn't seem sure. They did some cursory checks & when they restarted the car -> the lights went away 😐. They weren't able to explain why it exactly happened - but said "there is no problem - don't worry, u drive on"

Fast forward to today - (again my wife was driving 🤨) on starting the car - the 2 lights ("VSC Off" & "Check Engine") came on. And car was not revving more than 2000 RPM. On her way to next stop (after an hour), when she started the car again - the LIGHTS WENT OFF on its own (& car became alright again)

Can anyone please advise - what should I do?

    Hi Harshal,

The convoy and radio will be published shortly.

    @Udit S, @Issaa, @Ron.P &  @Harshal,

As this is your 1st drive after Absolute Newbie. Can you please confirm you have below accessories.

    1. Tyre Deflating Tool

    2. Flag and its mount.

    3. Radio with Carnity channel's set

    4. Air compressor

The above are must for NB drive. I believe the rest of the RSVP's members already have the above mentioned accessories. If not, please get them.

Yes Kailas, I have acquired all the mentioned  equipments (but not adept at using them)

    Hi Gaurav,

    Nice to make your acquaintance.

I have a 2 Door Prado 2016 model. Front & Back tow points are there, along with necessary clearance.

Off road experience :- Well, I have never deflated my tires before... Eagerly awaiting 16th Jan.

@GauravNeed your input on buying a tire deflator & gauge (have gone through the articles/forums here, but its still a bit confusing)

Option 1https://www.aceuae.com/en-ae/autoplus-tire-deflator-w/gauge/924864.html   Option 2https://www.aceuae.com/en-ae/bushranger-3-in-1-tire-gauge-and-deflator/204948.html   Or if u think, above are a waste of money - pls suggest what you have in mind.

Also, regarding inflators - I dont want to purchase one right now (maybe after a couple of drives). Just wanted to confirm, if there would be a Gas Station, at the end of the trip - so I can inflate my tires there.
