  1. What a beautiful drive indeed it has been . Thank you @M.Seidam for this pleasant gift that you planned for today. Despite the dense fog, everyone was on pretty much on time - which shows how everyone was looking forward to this one ! Thank you for showing up ! To save time, even though it was foggy, we had our de-brief about 7.30 and waited for the fog to clear , but without any luck on it clearing. We then decided to proceed and enter the sand, to see if visibility gets better - if not , have a good time conversating in Sands. So finally the convoy was on the move at 8am. Despite dense fog, the visibility did permit the convoy movement and we did a nonstop 45 mins of drive, for our first break. During this time, the drive was with very fluid movement with hardly any major refusals. The second half of the drive did offer a mix of broad ridges, technical patches and while with visiblity getting better , it did offer a patch full of vegetation requiring more focus to maneuver ! We had couple of refusals but all well managed by self recoveries - thanks to @Mehmet Volga anchoring the convoy in the middle. Well done for your first SL job @Faraz94 - I noticed you were my SL from the time I reached the meeting point - Well done on keeping that adequate distance. Congrats all the first time FBs - @Prithvi Raj @Sandeep Nayar @Sohini who did well given the conditions today ! Guys at the back were also am sure having good time in this relaxed but quiet a few times requiring full focus on those drops ! @Mahmut @Shiju Raju @abdallah @frederic demolder @Gautam Banka@Abhilash Kottakkal ! Considering the time limitations, I decided to skip the last planned patch of Murquab, which offers some more technical challenge without vegetation - which is my fav area of Murquab and hence we exited on time near the Mosque. Thanks all again and this for sure is one of those rare drives which offered such fantastic weather. Below some stats of the drive for your reference !

  14. This is probably the oldest surviving Valentine’s letter in the English language. It was written by Margery Brews to her fiancé John Paston in February 1477
  15. DRIVE DESCRIPTION 14th Feb - Valentines day also called Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine is celebrated annually on February 14 . It originated as a Christian feast day honouring a martyr named Valentine and through later folk traditions, it has also become a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world. The day became associated with romantic love in the 14th and 15th centuries when notions of courtly love flourished, apparently by association with the "lovebirds" of early spring. In 18th-century England, it grew into an occasion for couples to express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. What better than starting the day, with your partner on this Couples only Drive. This drive is a highly likely chance to have your partner's permission renewed for a reasonable period of weekend desert drives - thanks to you - that your partner will be happy to start the day with you, while moving swiftly through Lisaili dunes, with a romantic view of those Hot air balloons in sight and a beautiful sunrise. Please note : This will be strictly a on time start and on time end - The idea is more to gather as a group, have a relaxed drive, take a break for coffee/muffins, have some photos clicked and then head back to start point to be able to exit on time. Dress code : Not mandatory but encouraged - Red + Black. 19. CONGRATULATIONS @Simon D The lead ! - Great to have you in this journey ! See you soon my friend ! Where's the party ?
  20. Dear technical drive lovers ! Below quick drive summary : Thank you for joining and most importantly being on time ! Having immense experience of Murquab/Solar park, @M.Seidam as our SL was something that I couldn't have asked for more ! Thanks Doc for joining this drive and having you in convoy was very special ! With quiick, but detailed briefing, specific to FB level and specific to the drive terrain and plan, we started the drive about 7.30. Soon the convoy was offered with the challenges of testing their skills on maneuvering the interesting dunes of Murquab. We did encounter some vegetation which was nicely handled by the convoy. Overall, I must say it was very well done by the entire convoy. We all were well prepared for the next 4 hours of slow pace drive and it was indeed well executed. Thanks for keeping that extra one hour buffer and we exited just about 15 minutes ahead of time ( including the buffer;) ) The SWB guys at the front, @Ahmed Farouk @Renier Venter @Mahmut @Marek_was003 You guys did really well by your smooth movement. Specially the first 2, which was your first FB drive. @lucas amat - been long and good to see you what you do with your machine ! @Shiju Raju was a busy day for you but am sure lot of learnings from this one which you will cherish long time ! @Robk U continue to impress me with your LWB, specially in drives like this ! Am sure it was more easier today, since you had done part of this during Jingle Jungle drive :D! @Mahesh_ & @Gautam Banka - I hardly heard anything from you and well done ! Good to see you guys ! @essam ibrahim - I hope you enjoyed the drive and with every refusal/stuck you had a take away and more learnings ! You did well in handling the churned sand, despite those refusals you encountered! Well done sir ! @Imteeaz and lastly @Benjamin - Thank you for making it a relaxing lead for me, handling all those refusals with immense patience, absolute clear inputs to guys managing those refusals and helping with self recoveries ! Always pleasure to drive with you ! Below some interesting stats from today/s drive. ! See you all soon in Sand, and wishing you all a great evening and week ahead !
