  1. great to see you promoted to IM Faraz. Too long between drives.. we need to get out there together again!
  2. if you are getting a rubber burning smell i would go to mechanics and have it inspected. Just from one wheel? or all of them? the kumho at52s are pretty popular in australia for offroading, if they still have tread i wouldnt swap till i find out what is making that burning rubber smell. they have a pretty good rep for sand/beach usage
  3. Nice one mate. Glad to see you move up to FB+. Enjoy the new level and experiences 🙏🙏
  4. About time mate! 😁 Looking forward to watching your shovelling skills in action on Sunday 😎 Always good to drive with you together
  5. Congrats JP. Well deserved! See you in the sand soon!
  6. the Garmin Tread phone app is quite nice. I have been using this for route mapping, organising waypoints, and tagging routes etc. It is nice that the organisation is tag based instead of folders... so a waypoint or route can belong to multiple categories. the downside is cannot navigate using the app, so really it is my 'master collection of data' If only could navigate on the phone, I would give it 100% recommendation,. but then garmin would never sell a piece of hardware ever again. whilst i use the garmin hardware when driving, i usually select the tags i have planned to drive near (waypoints, routes etc) and 'share' to gaiagps on my phone as a backup.
  7. hopefully back late next week and ready to drive on 23rd
  8. Congrats mate well done!! The hard work paid off!!! 😁👏👏👏 Hope to see you on the sand sometime soon!
  9. Users of the Baofeng UV-5R also get to contend with completely random versions of firmware installed by default. I have bought a lot of radios now due to breaking them, having them confiscated etc... and none have had the same firmware. But doing squelch hack and having a good antenna does WONDERS to avoid noise. My current setup is a UV-5R with a longer 25cm whip antenna as my primary radio, 5W broadcast.. small light package for wearing around the neck), and a backup is the larger UV-5RH with USB-C charging(10W, bigger battery that lasts multiple drives (did 5 drives in a row without recharging), but it is bulkier and i think its heavy and annoying when wearing on a lanyard. (thats why its the backup!) Get the cable, get an antenna, squelch hack if possible,.. then enjoy noise free comms (most of the time )
