  3. I have a 1999 Range Rover. Currently even if all my doors are properly closed it still shows an LH-F Door open message. Anyone faced similar problem? According to someone the door lock needs to be replaced. Any suggestions besides that option?

  5. Yeah i realised that. Thanks for the reply, mine is a Gem setup as Bosch engines were implemented only after 2000 models when BMW took over. jackson wrote: > In older car rpm are usually controlled by vacuum switch than > electronically controlled like in newer car. Do you know you have Bosch setup or Gem setup > manifold & ignition? Bosch are much better than Gem (older > engineering).

The specific reactions vary with the type of catalyst installed. Most present-day vehicles that run on gasoline are fitted with a “three-way” converter, so named because it converts the three main pollutants in automobile exhaust: carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbon and oxides of nitrogen. The first two undergo catalytic combustion and the last is reduced back to nitrogen. Source - Wikipedia
  7. Hi Guys, I have a 1999 RR 4.6 HSE. I have recently noticed that the RPM whilst on neutral is around 900-950. But when in D it falls to 500 odd. Is this normal? Anyone else with the same model have noticed something like this? Btw how many ppl are there with a 1999-2001 RR model over here?

  9. People who change their tires or wheels may risk getting a speeding ticket because their speedo reading may be wrong. I recently changed my stock tires on my RR ('99) from 255/65/R16 to 265/70/R16 and was quiet surprised to the see a difference in my speedometer reading and my Garmin GPS reading! Research tests have shown that there is an increase in your speed by up to 8 per cent without you being aware when you change to a different profile tire. The tests compared the cars' actual speed to the speedo reading plus how the speed was effected by altering tire pressures and changing to a different profile tire. So guys please use tools available online to determine the actual speed of your vehicle after altering your standard tires. As the number of mobile sped cameras have increased in UAE we should not rely on speedometer reading alone.
  10. I read somewhere about the same problem and they said: "You guys might be referring to the solenoid that controls the variable vanes on the turbo. It is quite common for the D4D's to do this. To test, switch the ignition on (before starting the vehicle) open the bonnet and look just next to the turbo a tubular plastic black "thingy". If you touch it you can feel the solenoid opening and closing. See if it helps.
  11. I think its a feature designed to let fresh air now and then and not let the user suffocate on recycled air.. I read somewhere it is a safety feature, to avoid the possible buildup of stray exhaust gas in the cabin and no its not programmable.
