ABOUT THIS CLUB

Enthusiast Photographers in the UAE have the benefit of having one of the most beautiful scenic landscapes in the world at their hands, and all just a drive away from one of the most modern cities you will find in the Middle East.

Carnity Offroad Club has more than 800 off-road enthusiasts and this gives us the ability to leave the beaten track and find the perfect location for taking stunning photos in the deserts and mountains of UAE.

This club focuses on photography in general, either made with your smartphone, or DSLR, or Drone. You can share your photos in the blog section, but the aim is also to post your questions and create a community where we can help each other.

We regularly organize events such as meteor shower spotting, astrophotography, and landscape photography.

When joining the club, please introduce yourself with your interests, existing gear, and what you'd expect from this club. Don't be shy to share your photos, there is no such thing as the perfect photo and we are here to learn from each other.

You can join this club from Carnity Newbie level onwards. This ensures you have a 4x4 and can join us on the events in remote locations.

  1. What's new in this club
  2. I will bring my Nikon Z6 (first gen) with a 50 mm Prime 1.8. edited to say that it is Z6.
  3. Yeah I’m in two minds about camping. If it cools down enough it might be doable, but mid June is usually too hot. Let’s see.
  4. Looking forward to this one! Might even camp somewhere rather than drive back to Dubai at 2am🙉 Ancient Sony A6400 with some tamron lenses. Not the best for lowlight but i’m sure some delayed long exposure shots will do the trick… will def read up a little more!
  5. Boom Shakalaka I'm in Sony a7iii and Sigma 14mm f1.4 DG DN Art lense and 5000 memory cards and 70000 batteries
  6. oh! might be I also join, but I'll definetely will need a lift route for my Celestron 9.25"
  7. I've just opened up the RSVP I've just opened up the RSVP @Zsolt if you have a digital camera (DSLR or mirrorless) with a tripod you would be fine with a wide angle lens that you have. For night photography it would ideally have to be a fast lens (f/2.8 or lower). Even with Iphone you might get decent results, but you would definitely need a tripod as well.
  8. hi @Frederic - pls count me in (somehow can't figure out how to join). I'm not a big photo geek, but will figure out And would not like to miss the good company
  9. We will give you a free lift into the dunes. (old DCT start point). Canon 5D mk2 with Samyang f/2.8 14mm
  10. I'm in - can drive to meeting point but will need a lift for off-road section. Old Nikon full frame camer + Nikkor f/2.8 14-28 Seestar s50 telescope.
  11. Join us for a stargazing session in Al Razeen Abu Dhabi! What to expect on June 13: Best shooting window: roughly 10:00 PM – 3:30 AM Milky Way core direction: southeast to south Best composition time: around midnight to 2 AM when the core rises higher Moonlight should be minimal and likely only affect the horizon before dawn. Bring your Digital Camera, and we will help you practice getting the best results out of it. The plan is to have a meetup with max. 10 members to practice and enjoy the art of Night photography and learn from each other. Bring whatever Digital camera you have and have a look at the advisable settings in your camera's manual or ask in the forum. After the event you can publish your photos in our gallery! Meetup Location: Al Razeen, Abu Dhabi https://maps.app.goo.gl/AqfvMcdzgXsUsnrZ8 What to bring: Red headlamp and/or flashlight, camping chair, Camera or Smartphone, tripod, film/memory cards, extra battery, Recommended Lens(es). A tripod is recommended for night photography. Please do not bring big LED flood lights. We want to make sure our eyes can adjust to the dark. This is not an Off-Road Drive, but we will have to deflate at the entry point and head into the desert for 7-8 km so we have minimal light pollution. For the members who are joining us, please let us know which camera/lenses you are using and if you have practiced night photography before. @Imran Asghar@Luke K P@samamara

  13. Blood moon in Cape Town with upper station of the table mountain cable way in the foreground
  14. You can do it in Lightroom yes, but a little more manual and cumbersome - easier to crop them all in LR with the same aspect ratio, then import all as layers into PS. PS has an Auto Align feature that makes it easy.
  15. Thank you all, it was really a great evening under the moon! really looking forward to more stargazing trips in the upcoming season. Here is a quick pano of the phases, i will upload the rest in due course. Thanks again @Frederic & @JeromeFJ! https://www.instagram.com/p/DOVaAvUj3jP/?igsh=MWxoYXFwendmbzh0Zw==
  16. Thanks to everyone who joined last night! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and company we had. The weather was surprisingly pleasant, thanks to the elevated spot (thanks @JeromeFJ). I hope coming winter we can head out perhaps once a month for some stargazing sessions or meteor showers. We can combine this with camping as well. You can post your photos in this gallery: Lens Lovers Club - Lunar Eclipse Experience - Abu Dhabi - 07 Sep 2025 - Carnity.com I will upload my photos as soon as i have finished browsing and selecting 😅
  17. @JeromeFJ@Frederic I won’t be able to make it by 6pm, something else took longer than expected. I will be at 7pm at the meeting point.
