ABOUT THIS CLUB

Enthusiast Photographers in the UAE have the benefit of having one of the most beautiful scenic landscapes in the world at their hands, and all just a drive away from one of the most modern cities you will find in the Middle East.

Carnity Offroad Club has more than 800 off-road enthusiasts and this gives us the ability to leave the beaten track and find the perfect location for taking stunning photos in the deserts and mountains of UAE.

This club focuses on photography in general, either made with your smartphone, or DSLR, or Drone. You can share your photos in the blog section, but the aim is also to post your questions and create a community where we can help each other.

We regularly organize events such as meteor shower spotting, astrophotography, and landscape photography.

When joining the club, please introduce yourself with your interests, existing gear, and what you'd expect from this club. Don't be shy to share your photos, there is no such thing as the perfect photo and we are here to learn from each other.

You can join this club from Carnity Newbie level onwards. This ensures you have a 4x4 and can join us on the events in remote locations.

  1. What's new in this club
  2. You really have an amazing eye!! This picture is absolutely stunning !!! @Frederic morning bro is there an album for last night we can upload to?
  3. Morning @Frederic it was a very special night and having had the privilege to experiance this with such a cool group of people is unique. Lissi said best night ever. Big thx to @Imran Asghar for the moments on camera. You are the best 👊
  4. It was crazy! And the last 60km or so into RAK was the same! Hope everyone is safe and well-rested now 😉! Wonderful shots @Frederic! Thanks so much again for the invite - it was lovely seeing and meeting everyone, and it was a lot of fun! Looking forward to the next one 😉
  5. Thank you all so much for joining us last night! The weather was still very much doable, the cookies delicious @Ana ,and it was so great to see old friends back in the Carnity family @samamara! Your commitment and support to drive all the way from RAK to Al Razeen is admirable. Thank you so much. I think we all had plenty of time to mess around with our camera settings, or in the case of @Zubail his bazooka 😁 and i was super impressed with everyone's results. Even @Thomas54675 that just showed up with his phone was getting stellar results! I just selected to upload two photos which i liked. One was with the 14mm Samyang f2.8 where Sam was just pointing her laser at the sky. Gives it a nice sci-fi atmosphere. The second one is with the 35mm f2.0. There's also a gallery made for this event. Feel free to put your photos also in there. See you all back in the sand! (or starry skies in this case)
  6. Ps. I should watch YouTube on how to prepare for installing a phone holder before drive 😄😄 it should not be very close to the eyepiece!!!, @Frederic, when going next time?
  7. The fog was beautiful, not too strong, where I was driving Hope everyone is safe, thanks again for amazing night
  8. Have to call it off, hurt my back. Bummer, I was really looking forward to look at how everybody does this stargazing, never got to grips witg it myself. Wanted to use this motorized rotating base for a nice timelapse. Hoping for a next episode at some point. Enjoy, and please do post pics!!
  9. "Bring a walkie talkie and let's use CH10: 446.231Mhz." @Frederic - I may need some help with this 😅🤔🫣...it's been a long time since I've used it...
  10. Oof that was soooo long ago! We need to do this more often 😂. I don't use that crop lens anymore - though I still have it if anyone needs to borrow it 🤔 it's a great Tokina 11-14mm (for Canon). Let me know if I should toss it in the bag.
  11. Great to have you in @samamara!! Already looking forward to it! I remember we spoke a long time back about the fact you were using a crop lens on your Full Frame 5D Mark4 to give you that extra throw. Must have been 5 years back or so.
  12. @Frederic apologies bro , will have to drop from this one . C u on the next one for sure ! Enjoy
  13. Thanks so much for the invite @Frederic 🙏🏻😍 - I believe I am in and am looking forward to it 🤩! I'll have a few camera bodies (all Canon, one modified)), two star trackers and a few lenses (14mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8 and 135mm f/2). And whatever else fits in the car 😂. Thanks again!
  14. Good evening everyone! You can find the planned track attached (GPX). There is a farm and some trees in the area, so we might be able to roam around a bit to find a sweet spot. I think the farm is abandoned and could turn out to be a great subject. I just hope Al Razeen prison won't have their floodlights on that evening 🫣 so light pollution would be not an issue. Let's all meet up at 9PM and deflate at the entry point. Bring a walkie talkie and let's use CH10: 446.231Mhz. Don't forget your chairs Milkyway_Razeen_Trip.gpx
