Leading in the desert is one of the most rewarding off-road experiences โ€” blending raw adventure, strategic decision-making, and real-time teamwork in a dynamic and unforgiving environment. In the Leaders Lead โ€“ Third & Final Session, youโ€™ll put everything you've learned into action. After mastering convoy management and GPS navigation, this final challenge pushes you to apply your leadership skills in one of the most technical and demanding desert terrains in the UAE. This advanced session is designed to test your capabilities across three critical areas: Mastering Technical Dunes: You'll be leading through intense, no-go-level terrain, where every crest, bowl, and drop demands precise control, route planning, and advanced sand reading skills. This module focuses on driving judgment and maintaining convoy rhythm through the harshest dune structures. Adaptive Leadership Based on Convoy Performance: Learn how to dynamically adjust the drive level in real-time โ€” scaling up when the team is confident and scaling down to ensure safety when needed. This teaches you to interpret convoy synergy, driving skills, and situational readiness without compromising the driveโ€™s flow. Managing Complex Recoveries: You'll face high-risk recovery simulations that test your ability to assess, lead, and execute under pressure. From stuck vehicles in side slopes to near rollovers, you'll learn how to orchestrate safe and efficient solutions using the right tools, communication, and leadership composure. Drive Details Level: Selective Advisors - @J-P L and @Frans M When: 9 October 2026, Friday - Third Session Meeting time: 3.00 PM, (Sharp, without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ogE8dYKyQssyggrh7 Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. BY POPULAR DEMAND: The Al Adlah Strip Weโ€™re starting from the easternmost edge of Al Adlah, heading straight into a narrow corridor packed with some fantastic star-shaped dune formations. The opening section will keep things tight and technical as we thread our way through the stars. As the terrain opens up, the smaller formations give way to large, long-range dunes โ€” ideal territory for practising smooth criss-crossing, controlled transitions and maintaining flow across the ridges. Expect a drive that rewards good positioning, momentum and reading the terrain ahead. The aim isnโ€™t to rush โ€” itโ€™s to find that sweet spot where the convoy flows effortlessly across the dunes. โ˜• The final 20 minutes are reserved for something equally important: iced coffee lattes, camp chairs and some good conversation under the desert sky. Camp chair is mandatory. No chair, no latte. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Youโ€™ll be home before midnight โ€” assuming you live in Abu Dhabi. ๐ŸŒ™ MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities DRIVE DETAILS Level: Fewbie and above Meeting time: 19:00 (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QmZdwYr1DbAMgVCS6 Meeting Coordinates: 24.4137780, 55.0222218 Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. Thanks, everyone, for a great day out in the dunes yesterday. A big thank you to @ChrisW for organizing and leading the trip. The route was excellent, from the double bowl through the long ridge lines. Lots of fun ๐Ÿคฉ. Many thanks to @Infazfor an outstanding job as second lead and to @Beide Workufor a great sweep and for being the mobile tyre workshop ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Congrats to @Enrico - Mountain on completing his first FB+ drive. You handled the bigger dunes and the double bowl really well, and it was a pleasure to see you step up to the new level. I have prepared a short recap of the trip, which you can find here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeG323Zo2La/?stkn=MWRjcmp4djNqZno2cQ==

  23. @Chris Redmondyou recently changed to Pajero. Any feedback to share on the BAIC?
  24. Hello, new here with a BJ40C mounted with 285/70/17. Will gladly like to exchange on the car's behaviour with other owners. About any specificf Baic club, I learned that the dealership organises runs for its 4x4 owners... the question is when... and how to get on a list. I have mentionned to them that I wanted to be informed. If any news, I will post here. Cheers, Stephan
