Barry
I’d love to hear some opinions and see if we can find the most hated car on carnity My nomination goes to the Nissan Tiida. In my opinion, the most horrible, bland, vanilla POS to ever grace the roads. The later cars don’t even have a temperature gauge. When your car is overheating, the first warning you get is a red coolant light on the dashboard and by that stage, the damage has already been done and the cylinder head is warped. shadow79
these cars are only good for the first 5 or 3 years of ownership after that they are available for 2 to 5k in the market...they are just buy use and throw cars...
Barry
The only reason they only last a few years is because they aren’t maintained properly and people don’t give a shit. Go to Europe and you’ll see plenty of 15 year old Peugeot, Citroen and “Ford of Europe” still on the road and working perfectly. 4

Rather than blaming the cars, blame the people who don't maintain their cars at all. This guy who helped me with car purchases and registrations initially didn't do any kind of maintenance on his cars other than the standard oil changes (with no regard to oil grades, API ratings, etc). His first car (Mazda 3) died of a transmission failure (He never once changed his transmission fluid ). His following car (Camry 2008) had an engine seizure(never checked his coolant levels ). Such folks owning even under-tuned, over-engineered-for-minimal-maintenance Japs eventually kill them. Give me a Peugeot or Citroen here and I can drive them daily and can keep them running for 20 years. PS: For those not in the know of 'Ford of Europe', I googled it for you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_of_Europe Edited September 29, 2018 by stig
sertac
My father bought a Ford Escort in 1995 and i sold it at 2011. We had it for 16 years. I remember only problem we had was a sensor and on of the door lock in 16 years. We bought a Peugeot 206 for my mother at 2006. She drove it for 4 years than i got it and drove it for 7 years. I just changed fuel pump and AC Condenser. All was dirth cheap. Like 250 aed for both. That was my first car,i abuse it i mean i made off road with it, i went to track days with it,i made thousands of hand brake turns with it. Nothing bad happened nothing. For me it's easy to choose. I don't hate cars as such, but to me, anything with wheels is no different than a washing machine or fridge. Therefore, a Lambo or a Rolls is just a washing machine with more bells and whistles than say, a Camry that only has the basic functions you'd expect to find on a budget washing machine. Nonetheless, I made lot of money over four decades fixing cars, so there is that. But to Barry's question- If I had to choose the most hated car on Carnity or anywhere else, my choice would be based solely on these criteria- 1) how difficult a given car is to work on 2) how difficult it is to find parts, and, 3) how often it breaks down Thus, based on these criteria, Land Rovers and all French cars would win hands down, every time.
