OK I'll start...

Im trying to work out what the best solution is for mounting a phone or tablet that we can use for navigation whilst driving in the dunes....
my previous phone holder fell off,

Currently I have concoted this weird mount made from a cut-up kids ipad case to hold the ipad which solts into the various coin holders and against dials on the climate control (pics below).....

its not pretty, but does the job,.. (like 90% of the time).

What solutions do you recommend or have hacked together to have a good mounting solution?

One word.... well actually two: RAM MOUNT

I don't use an ipad in the car, for the simple reason my car is a bit cramped, and there's already other stuff mounted in there like a built-in radio, Gaiagps phone, Garmin device, and some other gadgets  😁

@Luke K P why not just use it through android auto/car play on your main screen?

gaia on the android auto is quite laggy for me and after a an hour or two just seems to stop?

Hey, someone's preparing to be a Second-Lead GPS Navigator for the Challenge :D

Looking from pics of Range Raptor interior, your options may be limited to these:

1. RAM Mount Stubby Cup Holder

2. Your Driver A-Pillar Grip Handle should have 2 screws hidden at the top & bottom. Open the cover, measure, then go to ACE or Materials Shop to find a longer threaded bolt and some RAM Mount (from Amazon.ae) C-size ball:
