Get ready to conquer the most spectacular dunes of LIWA. This challenging terrain will put our off-roading skills to the ultimate test. Before we hit the dunes, please ensure your 4x4 is in top-notch condition and has been recently serviced to handle the demanding terrain. Our goal is to drive from Mzeer'ah to Moreeb Hill and towards Saudi Border covering some of the most thrilling Buggie's dune and HD dune and exit at Moreeb area.

Drive Preparation:

  • Your car should be in 100% pristine working condition, so double or triple check everything during this week
  • Full-size spare tire with a lug wrench to match your wheel nut size and its depth. For aftermarket rims - Your lug wrench also needs to match the wheel nut depth
  • As it's a long full-day drive, so catch up with enough sleep in advance
  • 5-10 liter of water per person.
  • Snacks for breakfast and lunch
  • Keep your car as light as possible by packing what is truly essential
  • Fully charged radio with spare battery and all other required off-road gears
  • Gas tank FULL upon arrival (EXTRA FUEL - JERRY CAN WITH 20LTRS IS MANDATORY)
  • Last petrol station is ADNOC: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xNeYXqrLGr4CzkZdA
  • Safety flag, tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, shovel, fire extinguisher, medical kit, radio (walkie-talkie), air compressor, tool kit, rated recovery rope and 2 rated shackles, GPS. Jack and Jack board.

I found a discounted rate at Western Hotel Liwa that includes half board- I could only find it by searching the hotel on Google MAPS (not Google), and then scrolling down and finding the hotel's own website. It's about 40% off. The rate didn't appear when I went to the hotel's website directly. It's almost half the usual price- it's their Valentine's Day special :D they've promised a heart-shaped cake, I'll bring it to share 😂

I’m rather looking forward to this!

I happened to be out in the same area last weekend. We found a really nice bowl/ridge down by Buggies Dune:

N22° 50' 46.8" E53° 41' 58.5"

Little video clip of it here…
