Emanuel
Fewbie Drive Report – Murquab to Qudra Secret Dunes Thank you everyone for a great drive yesterday, starting in Murquab and making our way through to the Qudra Secret Dunes. A big thank you to the whole convoy for arriving on time, with only one minor delay when a driver responsibly stopped to check an unusual noise on the way to the meeting point. Safety always comes first, and it was good to see that level of awareness. Welcome & Skill Building A warm welcome to the Fewbie club, @Hansmtb! I believe this first Fewbie drive was a solid and positive experience for you. I intentionally designed the route to include multiple opportunities to practice new skills—good hill climbs, a mix of long and short side-sloping runs, ridge (flat’ish) approaches, and an overall slightly faster pace. You handled it well and adapted nicely throughout the drive. I believe @saumik1989 benefited from this practice as well. Special thanks to Hans Jr. for keeping everyone entertained with wildlife spotting. The official count for the drive was 29 camels and 8 gazelles—well done! Learning Moments Both Hans and Saumik had a few moments where the line wasn’t ideal and resulted in sliding off the ridge. Well done to both of you for not fighting it and instead choosing the safer option with some guidance from me—steering down and calmly making your way to the bottom. That’s exactly the right decision. With more experience, you’ll also be able to position the car to face downhill on your own when needed. Pace & Convoy Flow Overall, the pace was good across the convoy. One small note for improvement—@Chrismayer, you could have been a bit closer to me at times to tighten the convoy spacing, but otherwise things flowed well. Two Nice Surprises We had two unexpected and memorable moments during the drive: While in Qudra, we suddenly heard a familiar voice on the radio—much to our surprise, it was @Ishak, who happened to be having breakfast there with his wife. We stopped by to say hello, took a picture together, and I finally returned a spare wheel nut I had borrowed from him a couple of months ago after a tire and spare socket failure. Nice timing! Shortly after, we came across a single Jetour cresting a dune, driven by a gentleman with his family. We assisted by shovelling a bit, helping the car clear the crest, and safely guiding the family back down to their vehicle. A good example of the off‑road community looking out for each other. Final Notes & Thanks A reminder from @Suneedh Wrangler, and a good one for all drivers: always ensure you start every drive with a full tank of fuel. You never know what might happen once you’re out in the dunes. Thank you Chris for acting as Second Lead, and Suneedh for his support and timely reminders. Overall, a very enjoyable and productive drive—well done everyone, and see you on the next one! Here is the Relive video of our drive. Enjoy. https://www.relive.com/view/vMq5RX1KEQv 1 1

Jose Luis Campos
Hi @Emanuel, I already heard you had a wonderful drive yesterday! I was with @Hansmtb in the afternoon on a Desert BBQ and he was amazed with morning's ride. But at the end of the BBQ he had a problem with his air compressor and I showed him mine (Mean Mother) but I also told him about yours, although I don't remember the brand or model. Which one do you have?

Short convoy and fine driving made it a free flowing drive. 1

Not perfect but close enough for me. Some people have noticed that when using 4 way hose system one tire sometimes isn't at the same pressure as others. I only use one hose now and it's fast.
