Morning Newbie Desert Drive - Lisali Loop - Dubai - 15 August 2026

DRIVE DESCRIPTION - WHAT TO EXPECT

Join us for an overlanding and desert drive through the Lisali area, exploring a mix of flowing dunes and technical patches with some vegetation. We’ll head west initially towards some taller dunes for the area, then head south long those dunes until we get to one of the traversing sand tracks where we'll take a break. From there we will head east through a technical patch and then make our way back to the entry point. The route will be dynamically adapted based on convoy experience and pace.

🚙 JOINING OUR CLUB FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Please share a small introduction on the forum and provide the following details:

• Vehicle Make, Model, Color, and Year
• Any prior off-road experience (if applicable).
• Confirmation of front and rear tow hooks / recovery points
• Confirmation you have a programmable radio and safety flag.

🕖 DRIVE DETAILS

• Level:  Absolute Newbie, Newbie and above (all levels)
• When: Saturday, August 15, 2026
• Meeting time: 6 AM (Arrive 15 minutes early to get setup as the briefing will start promptly at 6 AM)

• Approximate finish time: 10 AM

🚗 VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

• Any proper 4x4 vehicle. If in doubt, please mention on the drive topic forum post.
• Front and rear tow hooks / recovery points.
• 8–10 inches minimum ground clearance

🎒 WHAT TO BRING

• Loads of water, snacks, smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We also recommend adequate protection from the sun and closed shoes.

🧰 OFFROAD GEARS

• Tire deflator and Tire pressure gauge.
• Air compressor.
• A programmable Walkie-talkie radio.
• Off-road safety flag.
• A proper shovel.
• First-aid kit and Fire extinguisher.

✅ RSVP

• Confirm your attendance by clicking on "GOING" in the Calendar Event. Your name will appear on the RSVP list.
• If the RSVP is full, add yourself to the waitlist. As soon as a spot becomes available you will be moved automatically to the RSVP list.
• The RSVP closes one day prior to the drive
• Latecomers will be turned back (no exceptions)
• No RSVP = No Drive
• Please withdraw your RSVP if your plans change
• Repeated no-shows may result in 1-month suspension

I attempted to RSVP for this drive, but I couldn’t. Could you please add me to the going list?

Hi @Asif Ahamed, this means you've already signed up for one drive - Friday afternoon. That means if you want to join another drive you have to sign up to the Wait List for this drive. Once Friday arrives if there are any remaining openings on this drive you will be added in order of signing up on the Wait List. This process ensures everyone can sign up for at least one drive each weekend.

Thank you for your prompt response. I haven’t signed up for the Friday drive, but my name was added to the list last week as well. Could you please advise on how to fix this? I’d like to sign up for the Saturday newbie drive.

Hi @Asif Ahamed. You will need to first remove yourself from the Friday afternoon drive before you can sign up to the Saturday morning drive. Go to the event calendar for the Friday afternoon drive and click Change RSVP.

Then you will be able to sign up for the Newbie drive with me for Saturday morning.

I see you are quite keen to join the Saturday morning drive. This is good to see.  However, please do not sign up to drives under the Manage tab. That is for Support team members and above. I'll remove you from that now. Unfortunately there is no way to control that automatically at present. Sign up for all drives under the Going tab.

I could do this for you but really we all need to manage our own RSVPs.
