  1. I always get amazed with car manufacturer thinking that they have developed so many new technologies and still all car manufacturers are ignoring the engine overheating aspect. I am yet to see a car that is designed with simple sensor logic to shut-off car engine by killing the fuel or air supply as soon as engine temperature rises by more than 10-15%. Are these all manufacturers not doing this intentionally so lot of amateur blows their engine and they make good business from spare parts and repair....? Shame on them. I just heard from a poor guy in my office who blew his engine this morning, due to lack of coolant as car radiator was leaking and he did not noticed and hence his engine temperature hit the MAX red zone and then died. Now car is not starting at all.

  2. Finally, just came across a real good news for car owners in the UAE, that car dealer service is no longer mandatory for retaining their car warranties. Ministry is planning to rate car services provider in 1 - 4 star category and warranty will be retained with top star workshops, which will be certified and fully integrated to the dealer system to honor the car warranty. Real good move. Thanks a lot. http://www.emirates247.com/news/emirates/uae-car-owners-relief-compulsory-maintenance-at-agency-abolished-2016-02-09-1.620419 Cost and timing will be very big benefit for the car owners in the UAE, as majority of dealer service has a waiting over a week and cost exorbitant amount. I remember getting my Porsche Cayenne minor oil change service for 2300 Dhs after 2 week appointment to retain my warranty. On second attempt I found an A Class Porsche specialist in Sharjah who costed me 600 Dhs for same minor service with Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil in less than 2 hours without any prior appointment.

  4. I know this post is done and dusted, but one of the oldest clubs out on the internet is ME4x4 , it's been around since telephones were used to organise drives...yes that is before the internet. Website is www.me4x4.me and facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/me4x4/ If you know the book by Michael Nott, "Advanced Off-Road Adventure Routes UAE-Oman, he used to be the chairman for the club, and many of the routes were done as club trips on exploration. The club has a grading system for the drivers, regardless of your past experience, and is geared more for longer duration and distance trips, so perhaps have look at the FB or website if it suits your nature of driving...and we are not associated with any offroad garage or shop so no one is going to sell you stuff you don't need. https://www.facebook.com/Advanced-Off-Road-Adventure-Routes-UAE-Oman-1391301034531568/?fref=ts

  6. Get ready for class A and B service center increasing their price by 100% and matching just close to the dealer rates. This will be the first reaction of any car business as soon as they get rated and ready for the customers.

  7. This move is nice, if rating is done fairly and every business that get successful doesn't grow two head in next six month time and start showing same attitude of "My way or highway". I suggest that rating should be evaluated annually to see if that business is really worth of those stars or not, like KHDA rates school on annual bases and based on school rating school can hike the fees only if they are above average standard. For all average standard school, no fees hike is allowed.

  8. This will definitely bring lot of respect and appreciation from car dealer toward their customer and teach them lesson to respect their customer's time and money. I have endless stories for wasting days for smallest service or maintenance with 5 different car brands. Really thankful to the ministry of being so thoughtful and considerate of the constant consumer complaints.
