  1. Just for future reference, I'd like to share a couple of easy things to help diagnose battery without a tester that we discussed on the phone. These are not foolproof but it can give you something to go with when you have no tools available. Check if you have lights on the dash. Switch on the headlights and try to start the car. If the headlights dim very very low when you're trying to crank, start to suspect that the battery doesn't have enough power. Another indication is that you hear a click click click from the starter motor. This click click click could be a faulty starter motor solenoid but it can also be a low battery which is the first thing to check.

  2. Are you serious that Accord need 0w-20.....? Check your owners manual for exact specs. I had Cayenne, Range Rover and ML all of them listed 0w30 -0w40 for UAE climate. 1000 AED for oil change is really too much. My current Ford Mustang get full minor service for 500-600 with fully synthetic oil for 10k kms.

  3. I have '14 3.8 LWB and it already has a transmission oil cooler fitted behind the front grill, which is why I didn't get another external cooler fitted. For the fan, I was told by one of the service managers at Habtoor that they can fit a fan in front of it. It's the same fan that is fitted on the driver's side behind the grill so side is not an issue. It costs around 9 times more than the solution you posted ,but apparently that's mostly the cost of the OEM part. I guess it comes down to the driving style. I'm only using 1st and 2nd gear in manual so the gear shifts are not as often as they would be in "D". I've not done a 0-100 by myself before or after, but the difference on road is noticeable. My drive last Friday was my 1st drive with a combination of upgraded suspension, kill switch, and tuning. Overall the power delivery has improved tremendously but I'm not sure how much of it I can attribute to just the tuning. Pajero's after 2007 are known to have an upshift issue when you're climbing big dunes or pushing the rpm's even when driven in manual mode. The advantage with tuning is it takes care of this problem. Tuning was never about the fuel consumption for me. This car is 80% for offroad use so the tank never really reaches empty to compare the fuel economy. This is an interesting option. I'm sure it will be equally effective and a cheaper one as well. I'll probably stop by the workshop to talk about it sometime this week.

  4. Why not fit a fan that is easily removable? When you have to go to the stealer, remove it, then fit it back when the car is out again. Wouldn't be too hard to engineer a solution.

  5. do one thing when you put the cables. put one on battery plus and other on top of the engine that way you can figure out if the other end of negative is bad {body earth} and as for the batterys dont believe those greens blacks and whites they are for consumers to be fooled...i have dead batterys laying here showing green at the workshop

  6. The best thing you can do now is to have @Barry run a diagnostic check and see which codes pop up. There are a great many possible reasons why your car won't start, and disconnecting the battery without a good reason could have made the problem worse. I won't even guess at the most likely cause at this time- get the codes, and then we'll be better able to assist you. ETA: Does the engine crank at normal speed when you turn the key? Does the engine crank at all? Did you check battery/engine/body ground connections? Have you had trouble with the starter relay before? Is the starter relay OEM (Original equipment)?

  7. US and Japanese car batteries are different, and as you mentioned bad terminal then i'll definitely suspect them to be the main cause here. Just change the battery to exact same spec of motorcraft stock mustang battery and see.

  8. @Aumio as per my experience I had similar issue of my LR Discovery loosing power when operating at optimum operating temperature. However switch it off for 30 minutes and start it up with cooler engine and it used to be fine. This problem also occurred when my petrol tank was half or less than half. The solution as it turned out was simple, the fuel pump for my Disco had gone bad. Try checking the fuel pump, that might solve your problem.
