Totally agree with @Simon D, word by word. Oil is cheap and the engine rebuild is expensive. Folks still in doubt, please check your owner's manual as it has two columns. Normal condition: 10K. Adverse: 5K. In Dubai, many dealers consider road driving is under adverse too due to extreme heat and the presence of sand in the air. If you drive one off-road drive in a month, then also my highest recommendation is to get your engine oil and oil filter changed early. The reason is with extreme heat, when oil cools down it's no longer as efficient as before. So after 5-10-20 drives engine oil loses its lubrication property and starves engine critical components when you redline on the next drive. I busted one engine on top of Faya, by listening to the same BS. Must be around 8-9K when that incident happens. So bottom line, if you like to do 10k service, join NB drives only.

Good morning guys ! @Tom V@Rajiv Sam@Pavel Pashkovskiy@Gok Krish@Srikumar Looks like a small but very capable convoy The plan will be to start from the Ritz Carlton in RAK, this sounds very far but in fact is only just about 1hr north of Dubai and this area is known as the wadi desert, with plenty of vegetation, but also steep descents and lots of soft sand. The itinerary looks like this: We will make our way down south through the various technical patches and dunes, and based on the progress and timing, either make our way down to Falaj Al Mualla, or go east towards Adhen town. In any case, we will have fun as we always do and i think this will be a splendid Saturday night out See you guys soon !

The limit we aim to break is that of 2,000 meters of total ascent. We'll try to achieve this on a long rage drive, from Nazwa's farm to Bezhad Ranch, via Pink Rock, Big Red, and Badayer's many groups of dunes. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. As your patrol is Y62 model (you mentioned front suspension arms) this is not possible. The bent axle is only a probability on the Y61 models.

@Frederic and @Mario Cornejo how could I check the front axle is bent or not ? if I am not aware of what could be done then I cannot verify that it is well done. The // were done last year with Laser system.

@vince6485 If the car was used for off roading, then there is a slight probability of having a bent front axle. So, in addition to Fred's suggestions, if the front axle is not reinforced, then have it checked. Do this as the last option, and get the opinion at two places. Hope this helps.

Hi @vince6485there is unfortunately a big difference between different alignment shops. I have tried multiple ones and always came back with different results. Make sure they use the laser alignment instrument while doing the alignment. It is indeed possible that worn bushings on the suspensions arms, or a slight dent in them, could throw off the alignment and result in the issue you are having. You have two options when changing the bushings of the suspensions ams: 1. Press out the old bushings and push in new ones (hard work and not many shops like doing this). 2. Replace the entire arm (more costly option but you will be sure the bushings are inserted properly).

From my humble experience with cars ( oil and fluids are cheap while engines and Transmission box are expensive ) The oil changing intervals are only estimates and recommendations based on the Oil companies and the vehicle manufacturers expectation of the driving conditions and driving behaviors of normal drivers on normal roads( which we are not ). so, it depends on how much are we pushing the RPM and redlining the engine and for how long and what's the temperature of the oil that we have reached all these factors combined will directly impact on the Oil characteristics degradation and will no longer be able to protect the engine components . As my personal rule ( for only my off-road vehicle, for the other vehicles i use some more relaxed protocols 😂 ) i change the oil around 7 to 8k in combination with the following routine : check the engine oil status using the dip stick once every 3 to 4 weeks ( or before a long IM drive like sweihan in AD) you will need to get your hands dirty and look for - the oil level it should fall just below the MAX line ( if the oil is closer to the min , will have to top it up) - the oil viscosity ,this is the most important characteristics of the oil ( if it is water like fluid then its about time to change ) - while checking the viscosity with your fingers try also looking for some solid particles in the oil if you do find ( change the oil immediately and flush the engine ) if some sand escape into the engine , this way you will save the engine before it get damaged. - If the oil Smell has a burned like smell it means its about time to change soon . - use only Fully Syntactic , as the oil which have the word "Syntactic " it means its a blend between syntactic and organic - change the Oil filter with every oil change ( no cutting corners on this one sorry ) Very important to make sure to wash the engine bay before the oil change or at least to air blow and clean underneath the engine oil cap otherwise some trapped sand under the cap might fall inside the engine when opened !!! While for the Gearbox, Transfer case , and differentials change the fluids between 30 to 40K . but if it happens and you drive in water for a long period of time without an elevated breather ( change all these fluids immediately after the drive ) For the airlifter i have and K&N oiled filter i knock the sand of it every 4 to 5 drives and clean it every 7 to 8 drives ( this might vary from one car to the other depending on the intake position in the car . as in my case i have a snorkel with a pre-filter There are other things that needs maintenance like the engine coolant flush( usually 100K or 5 years ) break fluid and others ... etc you should follow the owner manual for your car ( changing these fluids will protect protect the bearings from corroding and will lengthen lifespan of these systems .

@Mark B here you go Freddie ! I am inclined with this, but till my warranty, will go with regular 10k Service, and 5-6k oil change with my trusty mechanic, alongside those other maintenance intervals at 2-3k. Is this your story too ? @Frederic
