  1. Drive Report Waking up early can be painful, and summer drives can be brutal. That's why some of us decided to stay in the area overnight so we could arrive well rested. Once the weather finally cools down we will be able to camp again and that's something i am really looking forward too. With a convoy mix of relatively new Fewbie plussers, and very experienced drivers, we set off to the large dunes located north of the camel race track. This area is not spoilt by crosstracks so we could hop from one bowl to another and rev our engines to our heart's desire. And so we did ! Some small refusals that were easily dealt with, and a pop-out that took slightly longer as the balancing weight was causing the tire rim not to close properly, gave us some rest to chit-chat and socialize. Little by little the temperatures were rising so we kept moving where we could, and to keep ourselves and our engines cool. While i have been in this area before, this time i kept finding more and more nice dunes with large climbs, drops, and wonderful ridges to throw our cars over The convoy behind me took it all with pleasure and the fresh Fewbie Plussers amongst you drove superbly ! @Mohit Gurnani you felt you'd be having a bad day, but you drove amazing this morning. The pop-out in your case could have happened to anyone so no need to worry about that one. @FERNANDO SYRIO you had to push the pedal to the metal and you did ! The Fortuner flew through every obstacle and your big smile said enough well done my friend ! @Santoso Marjuki you were the most perfect second lead, smile from ear to ear but yet always focused and ready to help out. Thank you so much ! @Hugo i absolutely love your FJ and attitude ! well done buddy ! @Amr Aydin feels home at any place in the convoy and lays his tracks marvelously! Good to see you back my friend. @Mario Cornejoand @Zed got the freedom at the back to find their own tracks and with that combined experience i am sure you guys had good fun ! We exited at the well-known Sweihan underpass, and while inflating i was thinking about doing a drive from Al Hayer (Dubai-Al ain Road, all the way to the Telal Resort from where we started. That would takes us through both Sweihan and Remah area. What do you guys think ? Will start planning for it as soon as the weather cools down a bit. See you all in the sand again !

  2. Dear Friends I was so delighted meeting you all this morning seeing how much all of you were looking forward as well as i was too. I hope you lived your expactation. .. we started immediately tackling the mountain big red along its ramifications from all directions , and on top not leaving almost a single pit or dip negotiating it tightly at times. .. bouncing to the neighbour mountain attacking every slip curve switching back and forth till the back of pink rock taking the third bounce further north west where at top we had a proper picture break. the view reminded of the movie " close encounters of the third kind " 👽 .. crossing the camel rock and louping around the crocodile rock back to big red to just find what the wind did to our tracks on top almost gone and new crests reformed which increased the challange to crisscross it and that was just an immense fun. For the whole drive No ropes nor shovells came out and the couple of refusals we encountered was beatifully self recovered. @Benjamin you rocked man and thanks of correcting my slips in such high speed. briliant focus and driving as well . @Gary F considering its your first IM drive you managed the LWB sandrunner like a pro . and your self recovery on the top was impressive . well done . @Krishna R fantastic drive as usual keep it up. @Sunil Mathew and @Amir Amiri didnt hear you almost at all on the radio which says it all in the back , perfect driving. @Jaro Tuzinsky Thanks for sweeping us all in this windy day . you drove flawlessly as well. all and all i loved the day the action the drive and on top of all the accompany with such fine peaple like you guys. we all did it safely with big smiles at the end. till we meet take care and see you soon. 3. Patrol mission accomplished: 104 Km covered in 5:31 hours, of which just over 4 hours moving. Areas patrolled: Qudra's Western quadrant, Ghantoot North of the barracks, Southern fence of the shooting polygon, Little Sweihan Souther edge and Solar Park Southern border The first hour driven in 2 wheel drive (fun but challenging) with increasingly soft sand, to the point of halting almost all progress from noon onwards. Valorous patrol team, good spirits, and most of all great patience and endurance by the entire crew. @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke - Major Vladimir 'Popski' Peniakoff - Demolition Team @Faraz94 - Captain Michael Crichton-Stuart, Combat Unit G @Johannes Roux - Major Kenneth Henry Lazarus, Rhodesian Squad @Ben Lee - Captain Edward 'Teddy' Cecil Mitford, Combat Unit W @Richard Franks - Captain Patrick Clayton, Combat Unit T @Alphin Aloor - Captain Travers John Durrant Birdwood, Combat Unit P @Bjoern - Captain Donald Gavin Steele, Support Unit R Enjoy a good rest and recuperation before the next mission.

  4. Well done every one, amazing drive enjoyed personally and I hope all of you. All arrived on time, briefing and started the adventure. Mahafiz was full of plants and bushes, with nice small bowls, and all managed to cross all of them without any issue. We stoped opposite fossil rock, for around 10 minutes, and took our way to faya smooth soft dunes, and again all managed very well. Except one crest, managed by @Mohamad Anwer and @Ahmad Nerat in no time, thanks for the same. The last one as usual, faya big dune, which all managed to reach the top, except the old lay of @Ben Williams, which is fully understandable, little more training, vitamins, and exercises, and she will be good to go. Great to see you again @Naim Aoun and hope to see you more. @Cha congratulations on your new pajero toy, and thank you for being SL today. @Abhilash Kottakkal you did very well, unfortunately tires did not help you much, but all good. @Issam Atra you did very well with your old lady, no issues. @Srilakshman Karthikeyan @Abdelghani well done. @Ahmad Nerat thank you very much for sweeping today, and great support from @Mohamad Anwer in the centre today. Thank you all for joining and making the drive good, and look forward to see you soon in sand. Nice week end

  7. First Night Desert drive I was kind of skeptical at the start as it was my 3rd drive in the desert and that too at night, but excited at the same time. As a newbie, I knew that I would have few refusals but @Chaitanya D and @Simon D because of your guidance and experience every obstacle was crossed easily. @Waqar Sarwarthank you for being such a great second lead there were places where I was totally dependent on your tracks. It was great meeting @Arravind and @Xavi Moyano again. Thanks to the whole team Thanks to the core team for motivating us.😊 Got to learn a few new things in this drive like how to repair a partial pop-out tire, how to dig in the right way, and how to pull a car if it's stuck.

  8. Dear Patrols. As you have seen, tomorrow's rendezvous has been selected and shared. It is easily accessible from the Qudra's gas station, as you exit it toward the round-about, you may see it on your left. Do start deflating as soon as you reach the location. We will launch the patrol from Qudra through the western quadrant of this area, likely all the way down to Ghantoot, then across to Little Sweihan, and eventually to Faqa through sabkhas and long-range dunes. We aim to keep an average speed of 25Km/h, to complete the patrol within 4 hours. The lineup will be follows: @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke - Major Vladimir 'Popski' Peniakoff - Demolition Team @Faraz94 - Captain Michael Crichton-Stuart, Combat Unit G @Johannes Roux - Major Kenneth Henry Lazarus, Rhodesian Squad @Ben Lee - Captain Edward 'Teddy' Cecil Mitford, Combat Unit W @Richard Franks - Captain Patrick Clayton, Combat Unit T @Alphin Aloor - Captain Travers John Durrant Birdwood, Combat Unit P: @Bjoern - Captain Donald Gavin Steele, Support Unit R Do remember to wear the most appropriate combat gear, to make sure the Patrol is properly attired, and clearly distinguishable from enemy convoys. Looking forward to see you tomorrow. At ease !!!

  14. That's about 50km straight line @Frederic , sounds like a good half-day plan, but only when the weather improves... can't imagine shoveling at 11.30am at 40 Cels 😅
