Thank you all for joining the drive today. The foggy morning gave us enough time to prepare the cars and do a first briefing. Then we started on the track, crossing ghostly camels and by the time we reached the dunes, the fog had cleared up and every one was ready to flow. The first portion of wide open dunes was perfect for warming up, even if the quiet flow required your full attention for some higher steps, a few steep descents, and crossing some ridges where the required momentum was not always easy to assess. @Jose Luis Campos got crested on a sharp ridge, @Yurybel 's bumper faced a bush at the bottom of a dune (the bumper was saved). A few other refusals, but nothing major. After a small break (thank you @Luke K P for the tea) we continued into a more technical area until the hidden Ghafeteen Bowl. Nice place to play around and push those engines a bit.... and learning to control a steep descent. Getting out of the bowl was not easy, with a few cars getting stucked just on the outside, but once this was over, you were all focused for the last technical portion until we reached the exit track. Very well done for our first time joiners @Jose Luis Campos, @Steve Farmer @Yurybel @Hetal @Sam_ π. Excellent driving from the more experienced NB @Abhishek Chikara @Arvindraj @Gilberto and FB @Jeevan Koshy, thank you @ChrisW for watching the end of the convoy as Sweep, @Luke K P for correcting my lines as Second Lead, and very big thank you to @Mark B to support from the middle of the convoy. You were everywhere when needed ! Enjoy the weekend and see you soon!6 points

Dear Desert Wanderers @Benjamin, @Pramod B, @Mahmut, @Michael asir, @Zubair, @Mike M., @Zubail, @Gary F, @Andrei S, @Deepak Eswar, @Bjoern, @Jeandre Bezuidenhout and @Mehmet Volga Thank you all for being on time especially as there was a lot of fog in the area. The drive started off slow as we had to wait for the fog to lift which eventually did around 07:45, when we able to move off, are first few climbs were met with a few refusals, but as the drive progressed, we certainly got into the swing of things although the cross tracks are back with vengeance and did cause some areas to be extremely bumpy. You guys handled everything that was thrown at you very well indeed. From patience during the foggy start and few issues on the first climbs. to driving extremely well once we got a rhythm in the latter stages. The sand in places was extremely soft which did cause us a few issues but again you all dealt with this extremely well, so weel done to all. At the start we thought we were entering Shaik Ziad Road, we did encounter a bit of traffic at the start, but we soon found we had the desert pretty much to ourselves. we did have a couple of incursions into and through our convoy, but you all handled this very well keeping everyone safe so thank you for your vigilance. Our outstanding S/L for the drive @Benjamin did an outstanding job of smoothing my lines as well as supporting the front end of the convoy during the few issues we encountered. My two center forwards @Gary F and @Bjoern both played blinders as both had several refusals and stucks to deal with in the middle, great job guys. Lastly our Sweep @Mehmet Volga did a fantastic job of keeping me informed at all times and keeping the back of the convoy in check and safe, thanks buddy excellent job. today's adventures https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAdeEwqSt0C/?igsh=amZqdXJtbjVhYWo0 Have a great rest of your weekend and see you all in the sand again very soon5 points

My 2018 JL has developed so much play that it is becoming dangerous at high speed, and a pain to drive with some level of precision, there is a dead zone when turning the steering wheel, (already aligned and balanced, new trackbar, also tight a bit the steering box adjustment, checked joints etc), so doing some research online... oh surprise, I find this: I found the TSB pdf online, went to Jeep (my car is still on extended warranty), complained about the play and after some "pushing" they confirmed my car is affected by the TSB and they will order the steel steering box and install it. Hopefully done by next week! FYI! Regards!2 points

I'm down in Abu Dhabi, but I believe there is quite a few wreckers in Dubai Sharjah that can help with finding Pajero front bumper. @Gaurav is probably the man I would ask for advice on where to look around Dubai π1 point

I'm sorry I have to remove myself, I was hoping to fix the steering today but I couldn't. I don't feel 100% safe going up and down big dunes and wandering all over the place π1 point

Hi @Luke K P, about that. Today we were talking about getting a second hand Bumper to trim and use it on off road adventures, while keeping my original at home until I sell the car. Do you know or have any suggestion where can I search for a Pajero front bumper?1 point

@JeromeFJ Iβm setting off shortly. But I could not read the convoy order in your message. Looks like the attached file did not work? Not sure if anyone else has this problem. Anyway, I guess we can clarify order in the briefing.1 point

Congrats @Jose Luis Campos on your choice of vehicle to start your off-roading journey. This will make you a very skillful offroader in no time. Welcome to @Carnity!1 point

Thank you @Simon D I enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the drive hitting off all the key dunes in Tawi Nizwa. I think drives like these are always important not only for the support team but for all attendees, it allows us to practice and sharpen skills that are often left untouched, nevertheless this drive had everything from paced dunes to problem solving recoveries, I hope for everyone involved learned something new about different terrain landscapes and how we can repair pop-outs alongside torn tires. @Imteeaz Great seeing you again mate, thanks for the amazing support. @Mahesh_ @Andrew John Melvill @RiadJL it was great catching up with everyone I hope to see you on the next one. Enjoy the rest of your week.1 point

@GauravSoni Apologies mate - I will need to remove myself from this drive. Our office has signed up for a competition this weekend against other companies couple of weeks ago, and this event slipped through the cracks. I understand that this will most probably mean that the drive will be cancelled; @Mahesh_ @Mahmoud Taha please accept my apologies for being the bearer of bad news today. Sorry.0 points
