Hi Gaurav. Vehicle details: 90 Defender - white - 2023 . Driving experience: limited drivers in desert over a few months. Motor head at heart. The vehicle has a built in recovery point front and rear. A un-programmed radio is available. Have a flag ready to go. Have a recovery rope system. 🙈 A small Compressor and tire pressure gauge is available in the vehicle.

Hey @Emanuel, Apologies for delay, came back from camping to an avalanche of work. Here are some photos of the platform, I've included photos with everything set up for overlanding, and when mostly empty (for dune bashing), so you can see the platform clearly and in context. The idea was to use the XJ for dune bashing and overlanding... both have contradictory needs, so I tried to marry them together. The platform is all-aluminium frame, with plywood platform. I didn't want drawers, because those add weight and minimise flexibility. Instead I can slide in storage boxes, tools, and anything else, where it's needed. The frame lip at the back of the frame holds the boxes and bags secure, while the lid itself holds everything within the platform storage space. When I lower the lid, it acts as a table I can cook on, work on and eat on, etc. The fridge was chosen specifically because the lid opens both ways... so I can access from inside or outside the xj. And with it right behind the driver, I can even access it while driving by reaching my hand around. During dune bashing, I replace the heavy fridge with a lightweight cooler. Clearly I had to remove the rear seats, but there is also space under the frame to the floor of the jeep where I can store even more things. The platform needed to be set up so I can sleep inside. I also have my spare tire in there for when I'm dune bashing, but I can remove it and install on a rear hitch tire carrier for when overlanding. I needed the tire outside for overlanding, and clearly a rear bumper would have added excessive weight, so this was the best solution, and I just remove the hitch when back to dune bashing. The large storage bin behind the passenger seat can be opened and closed with and without the tire inside (everything was measured accordingly). The platform is incredibly light, and can be maneuvered in with one person... although two is better to help with the awkwardness. But I still have the rear seats and can return everything to stock very quickly. Only 4 bolts hold the frame to the base of the jeep. The tall box on the platform holds water jerry on one end on a slide, and on the fridge side I can install a power bank to run the fridge and peripherals. I remove this for dune bashing because it's extra weight I don't want and the extra power is not needed. Anyways, I hope this can provide some ideas or inspiration. Any questions, ask away! I dont think that's a fair conclusion tho... you're asking in a Carnity Forum but applying it elsewhere. Carnity Intermediate is not the same as other club's intermediate or experts. So what works here may not apply elsewhere, and it all depends on the car. Granted, you're asking for Jeep Wrangler, but when you're leading a drive, you get a sense of what works for the whole convoy, and the Seniors of Carnity have given that input by suggesting 4Hi. This I concur, all my 100 drives with Carnity I don't see a need to go 4Lo except to self-recover. Once when driving with friends outside this club, we did notice my friend's Jimny was struggling in certain climbs we're doing, so I asked his permission to try out his car and him in passenger chair. After various trials we find that the Jimny performs well in climbing with 4Lo instead of 4Hi, and his Jimny was a manual.... thus we have a combo where some ppl drove in 4Hi and some had to go 4Lo, whatever works for that individual driver... So all these 4Lo vs 4Hi just depend on the car and the kind of drives, no one formula for all kinds of drives and for all clubs everywhere... Jimny changing to 4Lo to get out of bowl

Hi @Gaurav , Julius (the Red Wrangler in my DCT team) did that and sent me his comparison of tires table below. He switched to Cooper AT3 4S (19.5kg per tyre) 285/70/17 for 5 years and still drove in 4L. Recently before DCT he switched to Geolandar P-rated (20.4 kg) 285/70/17 and again still drove in 4L. Told me the reason was "more controlled" but I'm also guessing habits don't change easy With @Naveen Raj confirming he drove in 4H 2nd gear, this confirms both 4L and 4H can climb Nagra (last minutes in https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cy5P6SaJU9s/ ) , so it doesn't matter 4Lo or 4Hi as long as you're confident you can make it

So my Carnity friends...I have finally got a 2023 Bronco Wildtrak. Thanks @Gaurav@Looper@Rizwanm2 @Gautam Bank @Hisham Masaad @Frederic @Alexanderrr @Stumpy Flowers @Bravoecho @Krishna R @Pavel Pashkovskiy @Benjamin and all others those who had shared their wisdom and tips on the card ...ranging from Pajero, Prado, Patrol, Safari. Rubicon and Bronco. Had something to learn from all your experiences / suggestions. Also explored some of the other chats on the car forums. Lots of insights there! Last time i owned a 4WD in Dubai was 22 year back was when i had a 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero (Classic Green). Used to do some desert drives then but after that it has been only family sedans / other cross overs since 2001 ...once i relocated to Singapore. But it is great to be back here in Dubai after 2 decades. The off road landscape and vehicles have changed a lot. And...some really great offroad communities are here now. Last couple of months have been very exciting as i was looking for my off road car with all the advices, research and test drives . The new car prices (and availability) and used car prices (and the evaluations / conditions) have also been humbling revelations. Was also lucky to get some management contracts at Ford that facilitated the final Bronco purchase and delivery. But had nearly finalized and bought 4 other vehicles! Have been the desert in the heat a couple of time now...and driven a (reluctant and worried!) friend's Nissan Patrol V8. Great experience. And..no nothing happened to his V8 Y62 ..though he was biting his nails (more worried about his car than me!!). Ultimately ..as per my learnings here in the Carnity Forum...it is the driver, temperament, skills (and willingness to continuously learn more from all) and the community (for support and encouragements ) and not entirely about vehicles and modifications. Looking forward to seeing some of you soon!
