Tesla Cybertruck - All Electric Pickup Truck
desertdude replied to Gaurav's topic in Tesla Forum in UAE
I totally agree, the pentastar V6 can barely keep the regular Wrangler rolling adding another extra half car on it totally kills it. Usually a car is designed to be a lwb with a matching engine and when same unit is put in a lighter swb it increases performance. Jeep went the opposite direction. An designed for a swb they used the same in lwb and lwb pick up so obviously it's going to suffer- 41 replies

Would be nice if you posted some of your own thoughts instead of just links As for the SUV just a more tricked out GLS or is it GLK ? Hard to keep track of all the ugly crap Merc is dishing out nowadays

Tesla Cybertruck - All Electric Pickup Truck
desertdude replied to Gaurav's topic in Tesla Forum in UAE
LWB Jeeps have always been pathetic. I came to that conclusion when a well know automotive and off road journalist joined us for a drive in the then newly launched 4dr unlimited Later a good buddy also bought one and sold it in less than a year because of terrible off road performance.- 41 replies

Tesla wishes it was the Rivian Killer. And not to mention Rivian also makes an awesome SUV The R1S And biggest reason of all it doesn't look like a couple of blokes made it in their shed with some spare tin sheets lying around THIS VS- 41 replies

What an ugly POS. Looks like it came straight out of a B grade 80s sci fi movie. No thank. If the only choice was an electric SUV I'd stick with the Rivian.- 41 replies

We already have rovers on the surface of Mars for years. It's really not worth going there, specially considering with current technology it's a one way trip. Bring back even a kilo worth of anything Martian back to earth is still going to cost 1000 times more than the most expensive and rare mineral or metal on earth

You people need to stop thinking like broke ass ******* Like I said if was loaded up to my eyeballs I wouldn't mind. And if I was loaded up to my eyeballs I'd already have all the toys I would want So going to space would surely be worth it. At least when you are imagining things. Think big, doesn't cost a dime!

I say it's still worth it with the HUGE price difference. Ironically my range Rover just started to cough as well. A quick scan showed cyl no 5 was misbehaving. Having a spare part shop in the trunk of your car helps. So I dug through and found a good-looking coil I had taken off my free Range Rover donor vehicle before I scrapped it. Two 10mm bolts later the replacement coil was in place and car purring like a kitten once again. Infact taking of the blasted plastic decoration engine covers was a bigger hassle than changing the coil itself. I have no where to store them otherwise I wouldn't have put them back

Do electric jacks stand the test of time?
desertdude replied to Shamil's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
I had an electric bottle jack ( got it for free )similar to the one in the pic. Unfortunately I never got to test it. On flat tarmac and at full extension it would not even reach my lifted Discovery. -
Hey if I was loaded I would easily dish out $250,000 for a 90 minute space flight.

Dude everyone knows I have no love for the jero. I was just trying to save him the expense and heartache of polishing a ____________ P.S : Then how come it still looks plain jane McCain in your avatar? P.P.S : Long before this forum existed and when Gaurav started his fall from nice proper 4x4 with character into Pajerodom I was there to witness it, so seen enough of them "flying around"

Learn how to deal with road bullies in the UAE...
desertdude replied to Jeh's topic in General Discussions
LOL you just described my car when I was working as a Desert Tour Guide to a T right down to Picture on the back window and 4 digit number plate! Only difference mine was a Land Cruiser. Nowadays moving around like that just attracts extra attention from the cop shop. If today you don't want to be messed with either by the cops or public as mentioned earlier get your self a luxury sedan or SUV, a decent plate number also helps. I got lucky this time round and got one of those to, so I'm all set. Until I venture out in the sunny again. -
Well it does say "partner content" fancy way of saying advertisement. I usually don't bother with 'partner content"

Beauty is the eye of the beholder and each to his own, but is that really worth spending so much money, time and effort on? After all being said and done it will still be a plastic piggy albeit slightly more shiny. Now if you were chopping off the bumpers giving it a proper lift, some gnarly tyres, etc etc I would be on board somewhat

Learn how to deal with road bullies in the UAE...
desertdude replied to Jeh's topic in General Discussions
Or just a car with some street cred and avoid it all together. The difference is night and day. When I'm out n about in the rental sunny. People always cutting in, honking, flashing, not giving way. But when out in the Range Rover none of this happens. As an experiment I even pulled into U turns, not moved when there is space to get into the roundabout or light turn green. Situations if in the sunny people will honk and flash at you or pull up beside you and give you the stink eye! Sad but true. -

Trying to do sideys/side sloping while climbing. Not a good idea, specially on a chewed up track
