  1. RIP Fan clutch. Fan should stop soon after the engine is switched off. Yours is freewheeling like a bicycle tyre. Get the fan clutch changed.
  2. The Dakar rally cars already have built in jacks, so can't be long before shoveling also is introduced!
  3. Start checking with the fan clutch first instead of throwing parts at it and if your rad, fan and theromostat are around 10 plus years. In this country and it's weather its better to do some preventive maintenance have replace all three. Included coolant hoses. And if you can afford it even the water pump. If you are planning to keep the car fpr sometime that is Better to do that than get stuck on the side of the road with a overheated car. Comes out cheaper labour wise also instead of paying fpr each item individually. But from my personal anecdotal experience this is usually the either the fan or a clogged radiator. Start with checking the fan clutch first. If thermostat was faulty it would be heating all the time.
  4. Ok let me get this right you want something with a 5 second 0-100, 300plus hp non American non German reliable under 30k car. Would be easier to find rocking horse shit than something that checks all those boxes. Good luck and let us know when you've found that elusive unicorn
  5. Why are you getting in touch with Toyota UK ? You should be getting in touch with Toyota Middle east
  6. You were able to do 112k miles, almost 200k kms on one CVT that in itself is a miracle. I say get rid of it, instead of replacing with a used one already through 50% of its life seeing your bombed at 112k.
  7. Cool didn't know Jeep did that. If I were you I would give it a through once over. belts, hoses, plugs etc etc also change all fluids, including x case and diffs. also check to see the qudra drive and those varilok diffs are working as they are supposed to and does it still have it OEM HD suspension or its been replaced with cheap bits. Also make sure what oil the transmission xcase and diffs need. Don't assume they all use regular stuff.
  8. Street cred is always nice to have, check out this video and how this ordinary joe get special treatment just because he drives a bentley. Same here people treat you differently on the road and otherwise too if they know or see the car you drive. I can testify to that. Even though my old range rover is not worth more than chump change but people still think its an expensive car and you must be some big shot or high roller. I know its shallow but hey I'll take it.
  9. In my experience cleaning flushing having it rodded out really doesnt help fpr some reason. Only proper cure Ive found is to get a new radiator and don't skimp and get a 400dhs dolphin radiator too.
  10. .Classic symptoms of Choked radiator or fan clutch on its way out. If the cooling system is working properly than it should not matter whether standing in traffic or moving. Temp should stay normal.
  11. I've seen a couple of airstreams here but all US imports
  12. Literally a place to kill time when I'm out havin' a smoke or in the crapper. Including this post.
  13. Basically its for old Carb engines, newer ones not so much. Try driving away in my buddys 1991 Toyota carb and it will keep splattering and shaking until it gets up to temp. Even worse on a cold morning. Might even take two or three tries to keep it started. And since it has no choke you have to hold the gas pedal down.
  14. 1991 E190 Those things are like Tanks. Also the 1997/8 S Class. After the 2000s Mercedes quality went down the drain. Also the C63 doesn't have as much street cred as must as thr G does. And uts all about the street cred here
  15. Those are standard on all G Wagons. And we did know a dude Big T who took his G wagon off road. But 9 times out of 10 it would go home on the back of a flatbed
  16. Well that's no excuse if 72 is your year of birth then you are slightly older than I am. I'm also a 70s kid.
  17. My absolute favourite ride for offroad use is the Bu Shanab i.e Land Cruiser Pickup. I dunno about the current generation with the V6, square lights plastic bumper version, But I have driven, used and abused off road and on road the previous generation in every imaginable way possible. I'm talking about this, one with the round lights and steel bumper Built like a tank and virtually indestructible, inside out. And will go anywhere with anything loaded on it. Personally tested it up to 2 tons with generators and watertanks in the bed and then hit some decent dunes and soft sand. I just love it to bits. But very rough ride, but you get used to it after a while. and unfortunately individuals cannot register them on their name.
  18. Just posting this for the three inteeresting features seen, 1st the bouncy suspension, which can be pretty handy once stuck and plus looks funny with the car doing it on its own. Second the ability to set height of each wheel individually and the third the ability to ride smooth on the whoops ( wavy track ) Obviously no one in their right frame of mind unless loaded till his eyeballs will use this for any serious and regular dune bashing.
  19. Yup, it's white goods. Going from going point A to point B. But then again Nissan has gone out of their way to make it super ugly and boring. Previous rental was a Yaris and compared to the Sunny it was a Rolls Royce. Took many inter Emirates lomg journeys on that and even at 120-140 it felt stable.
  20. Yup, even my washing machine is more interesting.
  21. I don't. I like all the bells and whistles. Like my new rental only thing powered in the front two windows. The rears one are hand cranked! Imagine that hand cranked Windows in 2019!!!!! Blech!!!
  22. Comfort, luxury and style and in that order. I really don't give a damn about the rest. Having said that new ride, just got delivered today is a Nissan Sunny with only 65kms on the clock. Total opposite of comfort, luxury and style. But hey its a rental and a free car is a free car!
  23. Thing is you give way too much credence to a woman's car buying thought process over the years I've learnt one thing. They have only one category the use to select a car. It has to be cute. That's it, Unlike men they really don't care about anything else. But then again what do you expect from a gender who will torture themselves all day long by walking in high heels just because they look good in them. And we men are suppose to be shallow!
