  1. I'm sure you remember Idriss, he had a 4 pot Forturner and he went everywhere with it, I believe he is still driving it in Sudan.
  2. Granny had a lot of free time on her hands
  3. You expect a pure red neck sport in heart of the American bible belt accepting "dem forun chink cars" "Its gotta be 'murican V8 muscle"
  4. It already mentioned there, you have a misfire in Cyl 5. Could be a fouled spark plug, bad plug wire, coil, injector or wiring OR Trying clearing the code and see if it comes back.
  5. That is true, some cars you can't reverse the odos because the Kms is stored in more than one ECU, technically you can reverse it but i'll cost you more to do that then the car is worth. For example : Range Rovers, even the older ones the KMS is stored in 3 ECUS and they all have to match, thats why you'll rarely seen one with low kms for sale, this really does make one wonder all these 10-15 year old cars with under 100k kms come from!!! Some cars its so easy you can reverse the mileage you can practically do it from your Andriod phone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gsO0ddMl2g
  6. I've never bought a new car too and just like Barry don't plan on buying one either, and luckily for me all the cars I like have horrible resale value and I get them for a bargain. I think the only cars if I could afford them and I would buy new would be high end luxury vehicles like a Rolls or exotic or super cars like Lambos or Ferraris. And get rid of them as soon as the warranty runs out. Although I despise super and now hyper cars with a passion.
  7. One of the reasons I don't like jeeps and sold mine only after 3-4 months of owing it. Every time I took it to the dunes the gauge would go up exactly as described above and since there were a ton of jeepers around, they said this is totally normal and all their vehicles behaved in the same manner. I just couldn't get used to it and never really enjoyed it as one eye was on the dunes and one eye on the temp gauge. Hence as soon as I got a good offer I sold it without even thinking twice.
  8. About time, I've always wondered how the much broader, 3 lane Shj Airport road which runs parallel to Maliha is 100, while Maliha much more congested and narrower road is 120kph. Much more dangerous specially during the time when heavy vehicles are allowed, basically one entire lane is occupied by almost still standing trucks.
  9. Well you haven't been fined yet, just making a mountain out of a mole hill now. It could have flashed another car close to you or even in the opposite direction on the other side. As of now this is a non issue. Has happened many times to me, I could have sworn the radar flashed me and I never get a fine for it.
  10. If I knew anything about investments. I'd be a rich man today!
  11. A very happy and prosperous 2017 to everyone here on Carnity. Cheers
  12. What car? What engine? What kind of trouble? P.S : I have two cars one is 19yrs old and the other 14 both with 200k Plus on them on original motors and both pull like stabbed rats
  13. There should be some kind of class action suit taken out against the makers of these transmission who sell this fantasy of sealed for life boxes, if science has advanced so much why don't they make seal for life engines, save everybody a great deal of money and time including the dealers of having to do oil changes every so many kms ! Anyways, I would also say get a complete oil filter and flush, not change, there is a difference, and make 100000% sure you use the correct oil and not just any ol' transmission fluid.
  14. Barry asked a very important question which wasn't answered, that does the engine rev up before the delay and then the transmission kicks in or there is a delay in the engine itself from the time the gas pedal is pushed to the engine actually getting up and going.
  15. OBD readers are like a GP doctor which can just diagnose basic sicknesses or at best lead you in the right direction, You'll need to visit a specialist to get to the heart of a sickness, I.e diagnostic tool specific to your make and model. P.S I know my analogy sucks!
  16. Resurrecting a dead topic, here is video I came across, its a flat tappet cam Vs roller bearing cams and mentions ZDDP ( Zinc ) oil if you want to run a flat tappet cam, also useful for people who have no idea what flat or roller cams are.
  17. That was pretty much everyone's opinion who had looked into this issue, that there was an issue with one or more valves.
  18. This was the logical step to take but for me, All the Audi Q series and the BMW X series all look the same, including this new one. Although I'm sure its going to be a fine ride if they concentrate less on the sportiness and more on the luxury bit, That's why Rolls Royce and the Range Rover have a lock on this segment, their attention is more towards luxury than towards sportiness or you could say just the right amount of sport spirit mixed after all the Rover Supercharged is no joke and the turbo charged Rolls in a straight line drag can give a lot cars a run for their money, Their are dime a dozen sports SUVs but only one proper Luxury SUV which is also a full fledged 4X4 off roader. So depends if BMW just comes out with another bigger more sporty version of the X5 or they plan to make the X7 a proper luxury SUV,
  19. All's well that ends well, at least now you know the issue and first step to solving a problem is knowing you have a problem and what it is.
  20. P.S :The Y61 Patrol 2dr variant used a 4.5 I6 carb engine well into the 2000s
  21. No I'm not that's why I exactly said, I'm not sure in my post.
  22. And hence it is a very black and white issue with no grey areas at all.
  23. let me guess it has one of those shitty new Nissan CVT transmissions
  24. I can definitely live without an electric car, I dunno why manufacturers are trying to push electric cars down peoples throat, when clearly that is not the way to the future. It has failed miserably in daily practical life. And the myth they are green is also almost of not already busted
  25. I think a 04 is a carburetor fuel system, not sure though, sounds like that needs a tuning, of the usually spark plugs and wires is also the obvious thing to look at
