The 130 liter fuel tank 🤣

Not so much when you have fill it up

Dunno why Toyota went from the dual tank design to a single one big tank design in the 200 series.

The dual tank had a lot of advantages. Better weight distribution. Having two fuel pumps. If one went kaput you could still use the other.

@desertdude 9k is the max I'm planning to shed out for it. Manual is preferred; the car will be for desert use only. I'm not to sure about the parts thou but thanks for the heads up @Fuad

Don't be fooled. Automatic is not better for desert driving.

Plus it's got 300k on the clock. Most of it is already near ending of life and that means constant repairs and replacement for parts

I was checking this one out too, after the incident I've been thinking to get something that won't break the bank on repairs.

@Rahimdad I'm also inclined to get this one: https://tnydu.biz/DOy9Id

What you guys think? I'm not in rush to get something now.

Severely overpriced at 14k and a manual with almost 300k kms.

Shouldn't be more than half that price. MAX 9k

  4. Old school proper drive in theaters offered designated parking spots as well as a big flexible hole like ducting pipe that you could stick in your window and it would vent cool air through it.

This version of drive in is totally useless. The screen sucks and 180dhs plus your fuel for two hours of idling andd letting carbon build up in your engine is totally worthless to me.

I rather watch a Blu Ray at home

  5. I play skribbl.io with my 7 year old daughter and the Mrs.

You'd be surprised (well I was anyways) how many words your kids know and can even spell them correctly!

Also another discovery is that the Mrs is horrible at drawing!

It's totally family friendly and no rude words come up.

No this is new. I got bored and i remember the days i was going all around the country for off road drives. On the way i was enjoying the scenery. I wanted to see what is in there. This time i drove that direction. Next time i will drive to Ras Al Kaimah, i will drive around village areas. My wife likes seeing camels walking around.

Go to Jazirah Hamrah just after Al Hamrah Mall. The old deserted town is still there. Also Mawrid area in Ras Al Khaimah . Where Hilton beach resort and spa you can still find old houses and mosques right by the side of the road there

Take the scenic route along the beach side to Rak

Oh and drive within the speed limit!

Let's just hope then that the construction of power stations will also increase by the same factor.

And recharging tech and batteries and their standardization. Just like you don't need to go to a Ford petrol pump to pump gas in your Ford.

Even with Tesla only with their superchargers can charge your car quickly other wise from a normal wall outlet is like over 24hrs

And most EVs don't have charging connectors that are compatible with others

Thank you Fred! It was my childhood dream to own an E36 Evo M3 (inline 6 with individual throttle bodies, and 50/50 weight distribution). Found a clean one in Dubai, bought it, will never sell it  :)

Never say never. I thought the same about a rare Range Rover left hand drive P38 with only 40,000k on the clock which had spent majority of it life in England away from the summer heat and sand parked mostly inside a garage in London with entire service history. It felt smelt, looked and drove like a new car.

But the damn 2008 credit crunch got to it eventually.

    Very

There's only about 50yrs of oil left on earth at current production levels, so replacing gas-guzzling cars with electric cars should theoretically be much sooner than that. Also because of massive technological advancements in manufacturing and global distribution.

Yeah been hearing that for the past 40 years. Also that right about now the place I'm sitting at should also be underwater due to melting polar ice caps.

LOL! If I will run away from Infiniti and make Volvo my 2nd choice, what should be my first choice? With the range AED 150-190k? The full options of the Lexus NX is 230k!

I never said that, on the contrary I said seems like you've already made up your mind up on the Volvo so go for it, Just understand what you are getting into.

  11. Anything with a Nissan/Infiniti badge and a CVT gearbox in it. Run as far away as you can from it.

But it seems like your mind is pretty much made up on the Volvo, in that case go for it. Great cars and a great drive but expect expensive maintenance and resale at the price of dirt.

Update: So i spoke to their service manager this morning and got the following info:

Car battery was drained when it arrived in the workshop.  Then they've put in a test battery and started diagnostics. Apparently the ECM is not sending power to the injectors, which makes them think there is something wrong with the wiring harness and ECM.

I am pretty sure that the car can be back up and running with a bit of time and some parts (and probably lots of energy drinks). But as it sits now the workshop does not proceed without further ok-go on the quote.

Does the engine turn? If yes then it could very well be the ckp sensor as Barry mentioned.

Also after having the battery drained it could also be immobilizer issues and just need to be reset

From what little I know after changing the battery you need to turn the key into start position i.e not starting it. Let it sit there for 30 seconds or was it 3 minutes so the key and all the ecus can sync up again. Take out the key and put it back in then start it.

I think it's there even in the owner's manual. Look it up I'm sure you get more precise info if you search for it.

  13. These new cars cannot be left sitting for long or else they will drain their battery and throw all sorts of codes.

So the first step is to put in a fresh new battery or if the old one is still good to get it charged properly and I'm 90% sure the car will start right up

P.S : throw that quotation out the window or use it as toilet paper because that's all that is good for
