I just visited Automechanika today and in Automechanika Academy - Innovation Zone I happen to watch brilliant discussion from James Piecowye and Vitali Bielski. James is a professor at Zayed University and in the night run the "Nightline" - Car tech talk and Car Clinic at Dubai Eye radio station. Vitalli is a senior consultant at Frost & Sullivan from automotive practice. Their point of discussion was really eye-opening that we all are witnessing the Electric, Solar, Hydrogen and Hybrid automotive technology growing all around us, but are we actually "ready for it".....? From consumer to the service provider and parts manufacturing companies? They shared some awesome slides of some deep research showing some shocking data of how "not ready" we are and we all claim to accept the innovation....! In the end, this research concluded by a panel discussion of 4 senior people from different levels of the automotive industry. All of them kind of agreeing to the fact that embracing of new technology is not enough and we all need to work together for offering a complete end-to-end solution to the customer who is buying or planning to buy such alternative fuel vehicles. And the majority of workshops here are purely experience based without any certification or technical knowledge. Musafah is the area in Abu Dhabi that has a lot of automotive shops and workshops if you are new in AD. Make a visit to a couple of workshops and see whose most competent and reasonable for your need. Btw, what is the issue at hand? If it's the only service then anyone can do it and you don't need to visit specialize workshop for Jeep, as far as you are following the owner manual schedule and specs for lube.

Until the time you actually fix the issue, use the windshield sunshade while parking the car and leave all 4 windows 1-2 cms opened so that heat won't be trapped inside.

Totally agree 9500 lbs are pulling strength and not breaking strength, usually breaking is much higher so that rope or cable doesn't snap if load exceeds, then simply will stop pulling as per winch limitation. Last week I have encountered this winch crying when recovering an FJ uphill so I'm sure 2 ton FJC must have become 4-5 ton and that's the first time I heard winch literally crying for help. In that scenario, I rolled the winch in a very small interval and stopped on every cm we have recovered.

Fraying is gonna occur in metal or synthetic rope equally as per usage. Mine is aluminum cable, better for high load strength and has better breaking limit. Price was just a tad expensive 3500 for aluminum cable and 4000 for synthetic rope, but TJM seller told me that 9500 lb Aluminium cable has better breaking limit than 9500 ln synthetic. For same breaking limit, I need 12000 lb synthetic rope and that will be a bit tight for the roller.

I agree with Sertac, that you should not have low profile kind of tires. Regular or the medium profile generally acceptable. I forgot to mention this earlier, I think I presume that you have been going to wadi and mountains so you must be having good regular profile tires.

I know it's hard to prevent winch cable from fraying once it is used regularly, but I still like to ask this question in case some of us has figured out the way to stop winch cable fraying? Firstly it will extend the cable life, second it will offer safer recoveries and third no more bleeding hand while operating the cable to align while spooling in.

You can get it made to size from any upholstery shop. I got mine from Warqa 1, there is one car accessories and upholstery shop behind my house.
