  1. Have one in Ajman that I know of and does quality work but asks quality money too gave my Rav to him for fixing...
  2. Recently I went for few car checks some cars really shine there if it's clean car you might not even need to drive it but some cars you need to look at every nooks and corner they hide sloppy body works where the paint is cracked and good knows with what they stick together the frame .have seen car only being serviced by Al futaim but had lower cover and fender liners tied by metal string's as per the seller....it's a tricky thing... The seller is singing the song that he has the best thing in the market but as you get a closer look and confront the seller all of sudden he becomes a surprised cat cought up in the lights or the second owner or he is just selling it for a friend who left the country or straight away leaves without a word..it takes much time and patience to get your hands on something worth it...
  3. When there is only 1 or 2 parts shop of certain brands then they talk as if they own your ass and also is alot of hassle when some part is bad and they still argue that it was from a running car and you should see your problem somewhere else instead of changing the same part for the gazillionth time as whatever they have is crap... I had the pleasure of fixing a euro Ford after much back and forth then towing the car itself there (as it had no plates) and spend the whole day till closing time only changing 2 sensors and taking a small round while reading live data
  4. Used parts wise it only has 2 full jaguar shop in Sharjah apart from sporadic one two cars here or there Just remember one thing when it's less on road the probability to find good used parts go more lower And also new parts will always be on order and sometimes even after ordering you won't get them I really appreciate those old jags but owning one is not going to happen So in short I am going to say unless you buying it new with warranty or else leave it...
  5. Had a relative of mine running away from the tigers in UAE roads (cops) while on the roundabout he slipped ended pretty bad on the day of his marriage till now he limps and needs support to walk....
  6. you must be kidding? Few years ago I was going to put a cng kit in a car so was sourcing parts and ways to make it happen so ended up in the office of shamil's manager in Ajman so talking to him about my aim he said run it on water I don't care just no modifications to the chassis...
  7. They will inspect it even if it runs on water just no modifications on chassis
  8. Cars are a magnet for fire it has all what is needed fuel the fire from paint to oils and fuel to upholstery everything is fire ready you just need to make it happen... Keep in mind that whatever is not in it's place is a hazard or a catastrophe waiting to happen... Like the fluids if not inside the fuel tank, engine , transmission , power steering break lines but dropping down is a fire hazard what do you think when driving in speed where those drops end up actually it gets all smeared up the undercarriage of the car and surprise the exhaust also is hanging there so what do you expect sooner or later on will happen...plus oils leaking and going in to the electrical components like alternator usually ends up with you servicing or changing it and it costs making you spend more down the road... Remember one thing once there is a fire nothing is worth your life just steer clear The next thing which I agree with is the electrics it should never be attempted by someone who has no understanding of load and using the right types of wires for the different type of application's I know proper gauge wiring and good work costs but what you gonna do when that cheap fixing components of yours starts a fire act a fool...
  9. Cvt is only good for fuel economy for all the other things torque transfer or speed it's crap...what you save in fuel and plus much more you will spend down the road when it gets ruined in about 150 to 190k
  10. I know 3 body shops in Ajman who do quite good work I just take them to all 3 for price then give it to the one who quote less...if you fancy a drive till Ajman then let me know....
  11. Buy a new car just roll out the dealer and try to sell it even without putting on the plates and see what you get for it...buy a Tercel 99 for 2 to 3.5 depending on condition and after using it for 3 or 4 years try to sell it and see for yourself how much you loose when selling...
  12. I had bought parts from there 2 months ago recently no idea...
  13. Could be a sticky caliper I had a customer come in with a 12 explorer he had changed the rear pads like 2 months ago and again I was saying him that you need the rear pads upon good examination the right ones were full new but because of sticking the left ones had finished so instead of fixing the issue he went and brought another pair of pads but changed only the ones which were affected...not my circus not my monkeys...
  14. It's not always change there is repair also here in the market but it always depends on the durability and customers budget... diagnosis is not limited to hooking up a scan tools and retrieving codes there are wirings to be checked, live data to be viewed and many other aspects only after that it's decided what to do about it...you have to make time and drop the car for a good old check-up...
  15. Insurance costs have lately been on the low side especially for tpl
  16. Recently we changed atf oil and 2 filters on a Jeep 4.7 grand it was working good after the oil change smooth shifts then I gave the car to customer then drove the car to Sharjah next day it was fine till he decided to return back it started to jump like a stallion and reached home like that after pulling the codes and checking the car we decided that the gearbox has gone cucu we had to put engine and gear together because the engine also was drinking some water...
  17. Not only that but sometimes you can get half of the bits from one brand and the other half from some other brand...
  18. Here its national rate mean all the gas stations sell at the same price
  19. Let me check with a friend he restores classics...
  20. Hello can you send me the chassis number might not be safe to share on a public domain...
  21. Sure I will be happy to assist and lend the tools infact there are 2 person I know who come to my shop and do their own car work one only does oil and filter change which we thought him how to do. the other guy it depends on his mood sometimes he comes in a kandora and won't touch a thing and other times he will come in a short and banyan and be pulling out the engine or opening up the head he is a good technician
  22. There is a website who sells BJ's and fjs old model's original and with basic upgrades like ac and power steering and auto trans too but it's pricey you might have to pay them with your eyes hands and balls too while you at it...😂😎
  23. Ac Delco which is available here in UAE usually comes from a factory in Saudi Arabia they don't have much quality the one from us are really good they last 4 to 5 years but they don't have them here another good brand here which lasts but is limited to some sizes is amron and they age pretty well here even heard the company has raised the warranty period too but the shops here are still stuck with 6 month to a year warranty... For tires if comfort is not much in your book only thinking of cheap then go for Chinese I have been using harmony for last 3 years and most of my movement is on the dirt roads of industrial areas
  24. Lately Don't see Kia and Hyundai with as it was before they have considerably climbed up the ladder by their work they are more reliable and not to mention their looks have a friend with a Sportage I am surprised his odo is reaching 700k it seems like milestone to me...😀
