@Gaurav AC isn’t my forte. I just hook it up to the machine and let it do the hard work for me.

Mitsubishi Pajero head gasket is gone
Barry replied to Frederic's topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Forum in UAE
If all the engines you’re getting are scrap I would just rebuild your own. It’s not a massive job. Pull the heads off and check them for flatness along with the block decks. Skim a couple of thou off if necessary. Stick a couple of gaskets in and it’ll be as good as new. If you skim the heads or decks, it’ll up the compression ratio a bit and you’ll gain a couple of horsepower. -
Yes and no. Just my personal opinion. Im not an off reader, just speaking from racing experience. A locked diff is always locked which does the job it’s supposed to do. A proper 2 way LSD doesn’t fully lock up, maybe 95% lock, but it’s better than nothing. Minimal slip on acceleration, minimal slip on deceleration. Would be better than nothing.

I never understood why they don’t fit LSD as standard to all 4wds

Something like this. Just pop a sim in and away you go https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Vehicle-Motorcycle-GSM-GPS-Tracker-Locator-Global-Real-Time-Tracking-Device/232330069435?epid=853903004&hash=item3617f385bb:g:E5kAAOSwtGlZEst~ I know a guy who used one to catch his wife cheating on him. You can get magnetic ones too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/TKSTAR-tk905-Car-Vehicle-GPS-Car-GSM-Magnet-Hidden-Spy-Waterproof-Tracker/323276976475?hash=item4b44cf315b:g:F2cAAOSwcklZjXOG Popular with car thiefs in the UK. They go around the shows, see something they like then stick the magnetic tracker under the car somewhere. Then they can see where the car is kept at night and go steal it when it’s quiet.

Here’s a random video I found online For anyone who believes texting and driving is ok, I have been in this situation. This is a true story. I was coming home from a backyard babies concert. Me and my friends were sitting in the back of the bus drinking cans of Guinness. The bus went around the corner and slammed into the back of a lorry full of bricks waiting to turn into a road. The driver of the bus wasn’t watching what he was doing. I ran to the front of the bus and pulled him out. I never heard anyone scream in so much pain in my life. The bus drivers legs were cut off. A couple of us took our belts off and tied them around his leg stumps so he didn’t bleed to death. He lived thanks to us but now he’s in a wheelchair Texting and driving isn’t cool. If you see anyone texting and driving, please inform them that it isn’t cool.

This is an old article but it’s the first time I’ve seen it. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-autos-singapore-idUSKCN18B1KM We all know Dubai is supposed to be the epitome of excess where you can go to a vending machine and buy gold bars but it seems that Singapore have taken it one stage further. They have loaded an automatic car park with super cars where you can stick your credit card in and get a new car.

Adh mor Renwick! Irish for good luck Renwick. It was always a pleasure to chat with you. Would be nice if you came back to carnity and shared some of the Indian car scene with us.

1 - You should be able to find a spoiler for 2-300 in the aftermarket parts shops. If you want to go for NISMO parts, obviously it will cost a lot more. Allow for 1-200 if you want to paint it. Installation maybe another 100. People here are fighting for sales so you can always ask for free installation when you’re haggling on purchase price. 2 - Depends on the spoiler. Some are stuck on, some are screwed on. Windscreen bonding glue is great for sticking them on, almost as strong as screwing it on, but it will damage your paint if you want to remove it. Bolt on spoilers can also be stuck on this way. Either way, whichever option you choose, removing the spoiler will cause some sort of damage. Personally, I like to screw and glue. Double security. 3 - Yes, your gas mileage will be decreased but the amount will be negligible. You probably won’t notice. A set of roof bars would have a more noticeable impact on mileage. Anyway, you drive a patrol, when did gas mileage become important? 😊

Full black style is called murdered out. White with black accessories is stormtrooper style. If you search google you will see loads. I’ve had a couple of stormtrooper cars and it does look cool AF. Legality aside, I wouldn’t tint a windscreen. If you’ve ever driven a car with heavy tints at night, you’ll now how hard it is to see anything. You’re just looking for the lights of other cars in your mirrors and it’s difficult to see anything else. Imagine that on your front window. It’s just asking for trouble. I’ve seen a few cars with fully tinted windscreens but the kind of people that drive them are generally people who don’t care about anyone or anything other than looking cool.

As per the title, what advice would you give to a new driver? Ill start with, Adjust your seat and steering wheel so you’re comfortable. Being crunched up on the steering wheel is dangerous. you can’t steer fast enough in an accident because you have T-Rex arms. Adjust your mirrors so you can see properly without swinging your head around like a death metal fan. Put your seatbelt on before you even put the key in the ignition. If any of your passengers don’t want to wear a seatbelt, ask them to get out and walk. Remember most of the damage in accidents is done by dead bodies flying round inside the car. Mind your own business. Don’t stare at cops. If you stare at a cop, he will think something is wrong and pull you over. Don’t get into road rage. Some people are assholes. Let them go. You’ll spend a whole day being angry, that guy will forget about you in 2 minutes. You’re ruining your day, not his.

I feel a mini Discovery vibe going on from these pics. It’s about time LR had a real update on the Defender.

I’ve been off road with you guys a few times and every time it scares the heck out of me. Im not a real off-roader. I love flat tarmac. Drifting and donuts. I’m a racer, not an off-roader, but I appreciate the heck out of what you guys do. You guys have chromium clangers.

Amazing write up once again @Rahimdad bhai. Reading it almost feels as if I was there. Is it time for @Carnity to produce a magazine and make you a senior story writer?

As per the title, do you think you could pass your driving test again? A lot of the members on here have been driving for many years, and as I can attest to, it’s easy to pick up bad habits, maybe not habits that are necessarily bad but not conducive to passing a driving test. If you were asked to do your driving test again tomorrow, do you think you could pass it first time?

Bargain 79 Mk3 Capri 2.0 Pinto for £3,500. These are going up in value and impossible to find something decent for this money. Proper useable everyday RWD retro. Seller says it comes with a free Darkness CD so that swings the deal for me. If I was at home, I’d go pick it up.

Now that we’re on that subject, had anyone tried snow chains in the sand?

What are some useless car facts that you know that are completely irrelevant in real life situations? Here a few to get you going, 90% of drivers will sing when driving alone. We’re all karaoke kings here. There are more Rolls Royce’s in Hong Kong than anywhere else in the world. Cars are the most recycled product in the world. We’ve all heard of the Shelby 350. The number is nothing to do with horsepower, it’s the number of feet from the Shelby offices to the workshop. The old Honda warning chime for leaving the key in the ignition spells H for Honda in morse code.

Ticking/clicking noise - Mitsubishi common issue?
Barry replied to Keithryan's topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Forum in UAE
No, that doesn’t sound right at all. You need 2 rocker cover gaskets (maybe, maybe not depending on condition) at around 30 dhs each. I don’t remember the exact cost of the tappets, maybe @Gaurav can remember, I changed some for him. They aren’t expensive but if you change all 24, it will add up a bit. The new ones are a better design than the old ones so probably better to change them all. From what I can tell, it sounds like the mechanic is taking you for a ride and wants to strip the cylinder heads off and build it on a bench. Its half a days work to do it. Inlet manifold off, rocker covers off. You can use a bar to push the compress the valve springs a bit, lift the old tappets out and drop the new ones in. No need to even remove the cams never mind take the heads off. Its not something you need to do right away but it can lead to cam and rocker wear and the car will be down a few horsepower. If the car is a keeper, best to just get it done and out of the way. Make sure the mechanic measures the cam lobes, rockers and clearances so everything is even. -
Have you given your vehicle a name? What is it and why? My favourite was an old Kawasaki GT550 I used to have. I named it Lucinda. Me and my friends used to take turns riding the bike to the shop to buy beer. There was a girl named Lucinda who used to hang around with us and everyone took turns riding her so it was a natural name for the bike we took turns riding. She was so proud that I named my bike after her until I explained it. She didn’t hang round with us much after that.
