Jazak Allah khair @Abdul Basit Khan bhai, You have a keen eye in seeing the adventurer in me, but as I keep repeating that I am a people person and love to meet new people and make friends. I post drive on Carnity to give people a chance to join, learn, enjoy and see new places. For me without participants like you, there would be no motivation to continue. If you can arrange for a 4x4 it would be an awesome experience to learn a new art, but I would suggest you can still meet us at the meeting point and hop in with one of us. We can drop you on the way back from the trip. Would love to meet you on Friday. @Kavin welcome aboard pal. Now this drive is looking great with so many fun people. I have a feeling that this is going to be the best trip ever.

Thank you for signing up Basel, there is always a huge space in the convoy for your amazing monster.

@tamils_siva thank you for your kind effort and gesture. Your name has been added to the main thread and I am looking forward to meeting you on Friday.

Welcome @tamils_siva Good to see you have an FJ Cruiser, looking forward to seeing you on Friday. Kindly advise your mobile number so that I can add your name to the main list on the first post.

You got it right @Gaurav bhai. But very few people know how to enter the base of the mountain on the track going up. Even I had tried a couple of times driving around the mountain to find zero clues as to how to go up, fortunately one of our common friend Saeed showed me the way last year, and I make sure to visit it again this year so I do not forget the route. Last time I was up there we decided to sit for 1 hour, but ended up spending over 3 hours due to the awesome temperatures on top, when at the ground level it is over 35 degree.

Dear friends, We are blessed to have new routes and challenges every week and the satisfaction of sitting and sharing a meal/snacks/drinks together and laughing over a few jokes or discussing the experience of the drive. Continuing that same spirit I am pleased to announce a secret route which not many people know off, this will include some desert driving which can be managed by all levels. The real secret lies in the route which will lead us to a ghost town through which we can approach our climb on the mountain where a path has been laid just for the known few. The promise when we reach on top is that you will find the climate there at least 4 to 5 degree lower than the temperature on ground level, so if it is 30 degrees down than on top it will be around 25 or 26 degree which is just beautiful. This is a flat, kind of table top surface on which we can lay and enjoy our spread for a few chats and laughs, plus for those shutterbugs there is plenty of beautiful scenes to shoot as well, and if we can adhere to the timings we can get shots both at sunset and by night. The beauty of this track is there are several exits, so anybody who would like to do the sand bit alone can do so and head out within 5 minutes to the closest road. If interested please sign up for this once in a year opportunity. Friday evening drive: Date: 07 April, 2017 Meeting point : Adnoc Petrol Station Maleha Road (https://goo.gl/maps/mzb26kxzte72) Meeting time : 15:30 PM - 9:00 PM Plan: Lets drive from the petrol station through the silk route to the ghost town and up on top of the mountain to enjoy some cool weather. Basic recovery equipment such as 2 way radio, flag and air compressor are very important and carry lots of water and some snacks to share on top. Absolute compulsory to bring your stories, sense of humor and willingness to learn and follow instructions during the drive

What could be better than experiencing the best birthday ever. Having it beautifully written in a place where I can live through my best birthday ever again and again. This write up is just as wonderful as the thoughts that went behind to make all this possible and I would like to thank everyone for their efforts in making this birthday a really special one. I always wear a Superman T-Shirt for my drives, but this time I really felt I was flying, could be because I was over 1700 meters above ground level. I am humbled.

There is not a single day in my life when I don't thank Allah SWT for keeping me blessed with the best of family and friends. They help me, encourage me, praise me and criticize me so that I can be the best person possible. Today is my birthday and from my daughter Sadia Kadwani who stayed awake till midnight to wish me. My wife who woke up early on her off day to greet me and be with me and my mother who besides all her pains woke up early to be with me on my birthday on an adventurous trip. My friends particularly one who with his family went beyond his means to make me feel like I was really important, he made me feel like Superman. His planning is immaculate and one cannot guess that he has such a big plan while we try to scout an area. Coming back to where we left everyone, I was awe stuck, have no words. I was made to feel like a celebrity, balloons, banners and my posters in hundreds all stuck on everybodies car. Wanted to cry with joy, but my smile was so wide it did not allow any tears. Time to cut the cake, and a mystery on what a chocolate cake looks like. Wow, it is the symbol of Superman, it matches my T Shirt. With cameras around clicking numerous photos I was flying any high and for the first time my feet couldn't touch the ground. What a moment. For those few minutes I truly felt like Superman. Above all the pride in my others eyes to see so many people so in love with me was priceless. She did raise me well. The day has come to an end, but the love, respect and the moment will live on for ever. I would like to thank all my family and friends and continue to pray for their health, wealth and happiness. Special thanks to my best friend who made it possible.... Gaurav Khanna and Sohini. The first gift I received was from my brother Karam Kadwani, the best perfume in the entire universe. Gaurav bhai than added with LED for my Pathy along with remote for keyless entry. Jason with some sweet indulgences and a sweeter birthday card, Waqas bhai a perfume which smells and looks amazing. Millions of birthday wishes and prayers to make this day the best ever.

And than there are a lucky few to find @Barry who does quality work at less than the Sharjah garages would charge you.

@Danny with all due respect, the manual is a very general outlook and does not really consider the temperature and conditions variances throughout the world. For me I keep my stock rim size and increase the size of my tire as I need more rubber when I am off-roading. Although my Jeep Commander Hemi stated that I should keep my tire pressure at 32 PSI with the Michelin Latitudes my tires were looking deflated even on 35 PSI, all it needed was 1 PSI more, that is, 36 PSI and it was just right.Sometimes you don't need a manual or a piece of chalk to tell you what is right, you just feel it from looking at it and driving it around. Just my 2 fils. BTW, I don't know many people in the UAE who follow manuals, and Carnity is a perfect community to share such information and store it long term for anybody it can help.

You can also “calculate” your tire pressure with the chalk method. This involves coloring a section of your tire with chalk to see how much tread is making contact with the ground. Start by finding a flat road surface. Concrete is actually the best choice, but you can also do this on asphalt. Make a mark with soft chalk that goes all the way across your tread. Then, gradually drive your truck forward about 50 feet and then backwards 50 feet. Analyze the chalk on the tire. If the chalk is only worn off on the center of the tire, reduce the tire pressure slightly and go through the process again. With the adjustment, you should see the chalk wear off more broadly. Keep making tiny adjustments in the tire pressure until the chalk wears off evenly and all the way across the tread. You will have to complete this process for each of your four tires. Once you’ve found the right street pressure, add 10% to all four tires. Then, measure the tires and add pressure to balance them. As explained above, you need to measure from the wheel to the ground. Start by balancing the profiles of the front tires with each other. Then, balance the front tires again with the rear tires. Always adjust the tires with the smaller profiles by adding air. If you go through the process correctly, you end up with the ideal tire pressure. But, this method is tedious and there’s a reasonable chance that you will make a mistake.

I agree with @Jeh The rear mounted cam footage is awesome, specially with the Pajero coming like a monster approaching its victim. looks just awesome. As for the drone footage, we don't have one yet, so maybe that will change if we get a sweet deal during this Gitex and have some drone footage too. What say @Gaurav bhai.

Bigger or smaller tire increase fuel mileage?
Rahimdad replied to harryd's topic in General Discussions
@harryd is it a 4x4? I have increased the size on my tires as we off-roaders need more rubber on the soft surface in the sand as when we deflate the more rubber we have means more flotation. However if I am not mistaken people increase the tire size on some sports cars to give them a better grip. Bigger tires mostly means heavier tires and any weight added will only increase your fuel consumption, although at times very negligible. Some tires are bigger but are softer and lighter than others with a meaty thread and only add to the comfort level, and being lighter help you save fuel. If you are a bot more specific on your vehicle and tire size we can help you better. -
Worst Off road drive ! .........
Rahimdad replied to slick72's topic in Meet up and Drives - Off-road / Scenic
Excellent rant Dipak bhai and yes Gaurav Bhai, I am with you on this one, let's not scare Manu and Shariff from the duties we want to hand over to them on the up coming drives or we will have Dipak doing all the digging. -
Thanks @Gaurav bhai and @manums bhai for such excellent pics. The are was not an easy one and we have done this before, but this Friday was a totally different story. It was easy due to the hard sand on the surface, but dig in 2 - 3 inches and the sand was melting soft. So that challenge was to enjoy ourselves on a hard surface that did not challenge us so much, but at the same time one wrong move would mean danger lurking whenever we crossed over a ridge or from top of one dune to another. I must praise all drivers for sticking closely on my tracks, as in some spots a little left or a little right and there were some very awful pockets which could have done a lot of harm. My salute to Dipak, Basil and Mujtaba for managing the dunes so well, my hats of to Manu and Shariff for being good riders and getting such awesome pics. The highlight of the drive for me was the sighting of the Gazelles just after a quick round of rain had subsided and giving them a little chase. Even more amazing was that after that quick little chase the rest of the convoy was right behind me although I felt I could have lost them on any one of the many ridge crossings. It was my first time to give the Gazelles a chase and they are so agile running through the desert sands and its amazing how high they can jump to clear a ridge so easily, this is one of their tricks to get us stuck on the ridge. It was a good idea to cancel the BBQ for different reasons, but the amazing fruits from Dipak and sandwiches from Gaurav Bhai just gave us enough energy to exit in high spirits and drive back home. Thank you to Mujtaba bhai who has taken being second lead as a natural progression and managed so well in different situations. My suggestion would be to give someone else the chance as a second lead for the next drive and keep him in the sweep duty as part of a sweep team, either Gaurav Bhai or myself in the sweep can help him understand the sweep duties and help him grow in that direction as well. Thank you Gaurav Bhai for posting and giving me the opportunity to lead such a wonderful drive in a brilliant area and I would like to apologize to all for my delay and the change of BBQ plans.

From where to buy Kia Optima accessories?
Rahimdad replied to Amar's topic in Kia Optima Forum in UAE
No issues with RTA if you want to foil it using the same color. As for the price you will have to google it up. When Foil a car started it was very expensive, howver you have people who are doing it for below AED 1000/-, just need to check and hopefully you will get a good deal. -
Barry is looking for investors not clients. Hahahaha

You are in luck @cyborg. here is a complete list of banks with their requirements and interest rates. Emirates NBD tops the list right now. https://compareit4me.com/en/car-loans/

Wow, the poll is all tied up. We need a tie-breaker or else we will have to start the trip at 10 pm on Friday and conclude it on Saturday at 4 am. hahahahaha

Foil a car is an Aluminium Foil that used to come in Matt black, now you can get it in any color, Matt finish with a shine. Car looks good and the original paint stays protected.
