  1. I've seen couple of them on the road, look so cool! Not general UAE style, for sure 😃

If you want to stand out, it's your choice!

Overall, more competition we have, better for us! Pajero is going, we have only a few options for proper off-road and Suzuki is a nice small addition to the market.

Go for it! I would love to hear what it's like driving all the way to Jordan.

Unfortunately, I did not go all the way to Jordan from UAE but rented a car there 😃 Anyway, it could be useful! Will do 😃

You shouldn't be asking such question, as everyone here is knowledge seeking folks than the blind folded ones.

    Go for it 100%

Things you should include is in the same sequence as you planned so people reading it know what all to expect in chronological order like:

Distance, drive time, weather, visa, accommodation, places to visit, heritage, famous food, tradition, people, language, local food etc.

All right, will do! 😃 Thanks

  3. Hello, guys!

Recently we did two trips on a car: to Salalah in August and to Jordan in October.

I'm thinking of writing a review which could be useful for some people.

Are you interested? Should I proceed?

If yes, what would you like to see in a review, anything specific?

If you are not interested, it's totally fine, no worries 😃

    You mean car dealers show....?

It's good for someone looking for buying new car and wish to see all car dealers inventory in one place than visiting there SZR showrooms one after the other.

Been to this few years back and I was totally disappointed.

    Well, I expected something better.

Thanks for sharing! It is not something I'm looking for.

  5. Suspension is not only about shocks but about all other parts as well.

Shortly, it depends. Simple suspension could easy to diagnose, more complicated ones are not that simple.

I suggest to pay a visit to some independent mechanic just to check the suspension. It should not be expensive and should take around 10-20 minutes of your time.

Where do you go for a good view of the stars? That’s one thing I miss from home. In the city you’re lucky if you can see Venus and maybe 3-4 bright stars. At home I go out my back door and I can see the Milky Way clearly. On a good night you can get a glimpse of the northern light.

Empty quarter is the best place being the darkest in the UAE! 😃

What is your view about the quality of engine oils being sold by ADNOC when compared with other international brands. I am going away from agency service for the regular servicing of my vehicle so wanted to know if semi-synthetic oil offered at ADNOC is safe to use for my Prado.

I was told by my mechanic that oil sold on petrol stations with their own brands is not good for the engine.

He showed me some pictures of the engine full of some dirty old leftovers of the oil even though the owner was changing oil every 10000kms. The only thing that it was petrol station oil.

I personally can recommend Shell Synthetic oil from one of the authorized sellers. It is known to be good and reasonably priced.

It's my old Camry. 2006. I don't think it has an alarm. Infact my Prado Sideview mirror was removed too in the same location. This time I reported it to the Police.

    I am shocked!

Is it possible to remove the mirror without opening the car?

    And is the location?

    Be safe, guys!

  9. Hello!

I would like to try something american, I didn't have such experience before.

I noticed that on quite a lot of american cars side mirrors are so narrow-angled, it is so hard to observe traffic on the road!😮

Is it like that on all american cars or only on some of them?

  10. For me new Defender looks just awesome, well done!

But I am disappointed by its small wheels, clearance, etc. Even if engine and, hopefully, transmission is capable, I have some doubts on the overall performance.

But it looks superb! Probably it will be sold very well to those people who do not really go off-road but just pretend that they go there. There are a lot of them!

So, from business point of view, it is a right decision.

  11. Hi, guys!

Just want to share my experience with you, it might be helpful for somebody.

These days you can notice tons of LED light bulbs designed to replace conventional halogen light bulbs.

First of all, I have some doubts that it is legal.

If you are ok with it, you might want to install them because they are so bright!

First type. A lot of LEDs on all sides of the light bulb.

    image.png.0b83215767e0e916fb0a8e37ff0bd64c.png

Looks great, but almost useless. The light is blinding fellow drivers but the road is not lit well.

Second type. Two big LED chips on both sides of the bulb.

It is a bit better but still it lights everything around and not the road.

Third type. Three tiny chips on both sides of the bulb.

    image.png.a78e7a6aad28af7bd22e5cb8693e0d1a.png

It is almost perfect. In reflector type headlights it is not ideal, in lens type headlights should be good with descent border between light and shade on the road.

Quality of the light bulb and precision of LED chips placement plays a big role here.

    Forth. A-Brand light bulb.

    image.png.c21473deb5da6f5956c29344bb6011a1.png

Almost perfect in most of situations but considerably more expensive.

    General rule.

The smaller LED chip, the better shape of the light. It is like that because conventional lights are designed to focus light from tiny halogen light, thus, position and size of LED chip should be as close to position and size of halogen light bulb as possible.

    My experience.

I bought my car with second-type bulbs installed in high-beam lights. Well, for high-beam it was not that bad, for dimmed light it was not suitable at all.

I decided to change it to something better.

I bought third-type light bulbs for High-beam, dimmed and fog lights. Some with active cooling (with fan), some with passive (just radiator).

After several months, one active-cooling light bulb failed in dimmed head light, the rest is still fine including passive-cooling fog-lights which I use a lot.

After the failure, I decided to buy Philips light bulb to install them into dimmed headlight.

Generally, LED light bulbs are bright. Not as bright as Xenon lights but still way brighter than halogen light bulbs.

I'm satisfied with performance of lights and, important, its price. It is a significant improvement for a reasonable price!
