  1. Hi all nice pictures and work , although I am not a fan of modification ( body , engine , suspension lift , spacers ... etc ) as this may prevent renewal of my comprehensive insurance next year ! however some modifications is inevitable to some vehicles what I did for my stock X 1. Replaced the high way tires to A/T tires 2. Minimal trimming front bumper mainly to the side , may help increase approach angle. 3. Bash plate 10mm thick for the radiator protection as it’s the weakest point in Xterra ( but 8 mm agree would be ok ) 4. In the process of sorting how to Kill the ABS while keeping the 4 wheel drive “alive “ I believe suspension lift will entail spacers to balance the center of gravity . However the bearings will be half life Short cut even with the best spacers installed, at least now not going for it .
  2. Thank all for the different feed back @Nivin thanks for the diagram
  3. Thank you @Foxtrot Oscar , I am not surprised then as I heard similar story with ABS/ 4x4 issue . @Desert Dweller can you share please where did you sort out this issue finally if I may ask ?!
  4. Thank you @Barry for the tip , next week I will try sort it out
  5. Good day On my last drive i realized how ABS kicks soon , and I decided to kill it . However it was not killed as This will kill the 4WD along or that what I understood . I appreciated from the garage telling the truth rather than creating another problem. I need a trusted place who know how to deal with the electricity of my 2012 X many suggestion please ! thank you and as I always say cheers and drive safe 🌷🙏🏻🚙 Mohamed
  6. Hi @Frederic unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the Friday afternoon drive 😞, so I will update the RSVP now ! lucky the first one on waiting list now.😊
  7. Hi @Christian Andras in addition to what @Gaurav suggested and agree with him . Also beware that offroad cover is noted in the policy when it’s comprehensive and when the 4X4 vehicle is GCC registered up to my knowledge. personally I deal with RSA for all my past and current machines and I am happy with them.
  8. Desert driving dictates Essential knowledge regarding safety and under this later comes communication and directions, thanks to the current technology which became within the grasp of everyone Nevertheless the very basic “ primitive “ knowledge for the cardinal directions is of no substitute to our smart phone. When all things go out of order regardless of reason then here comes the basics when you find your self in the middle of no where ! i am sure that all know it as I do , but to figure it out I personally found this simple video explaining how to find your direction so useful for me and I loved to share it with you sand wanderers cheers 🌷🚙😎
  9. In addition to that at the end when the hit happened the driver said calling the name of the FJC owner : Why not Say something ? .... meaning that they had some sort of possible communication that could be used ( radio , phone what so ever ) for worming .... still neither being warned not to proceed by the FJ nor being asked for clearance by the one that hit !! ( active communication ) ,And each one relied on the silence as “clearance “ ( passive communication ) in Desert no place for “ passive” communication at all ! Same apply for other safety measures like flag , horn , hand language ... etc when applicable
  10. It’s really more than ever to abide to precautionary measures , MASK is one effective one of them

  18. In that box I keep every thing almost , apart from the flag stick every thing is in Like compressor , ropes . Shackles, tool kit first aid kit ( I have another one also in my driver side pocket fits Nicly) ...etc and still more space available in ..Capacity exactly i will look at it . When you have all “ the junck” in one big box and in order then the rest of the truck room can be utilized for shopping bags ...etc (things which has high turn over ) and the Permanent offroad stuff in only one place .
  19. Hi from speedex Skh Zayed road not remember exactly around less then two hundreds derhams
  20. I am so delighted to learn this good news . Another small step in climbing the Off road ladder and yet bigger one in bearing responsibility and ensuring safety to self and others. Thank you @Gaurav for all the support and help all along. @Frederic I always read your valuable “ gold mine “ posts that are related to technique and desert navigation , todays one I already have on my smart phone but it feels easier now.Thank you. Brother @Rahimdad I am overwhelmed with your appreciation and tolerance to others . Some other leaders still I haven’t driven with them yet but surely the pleasure will be all mine to see you all in near future drives. thank you all fine people here and congratulations for all who were promoted. Look far beyond dunes and if you can reach be ready To go further , it’s not our vehicles that carry us but our self determined spirit do! cheers and drive safe 🌷👍🚙
  21. Speed is one : couldn’t ride the ridge as it was curvy at the end to left. looking carefully and in slow motion maybe when realized it at the end decided to ride to turn again but already the momentum ( always faster then the intended turn ) pushed him to the other side which caused the flip .here comes the precise control with speed in action and the sense of danger , I would complete the side down especially when you are attacking the slip side of this complex dune !🤔 I might not be right entirely so let’s see our Carnity leaders say cheers 🚙👍
  22. I clicked in , but I will exit now, no issue at all dear @Wrangeld . best wishes to all passionate drivers cheers and drive safe 🌷🚙
