  2. In my last night drive I got stuck in weird position and realised that the self recovery would slide the car into more difficult situation ending its rear to  v pocket . The only way was to winch it forward to bring its left front wheel on ground. As we didn’t have winch I used long kinetic rope ( double rope ) and let the heavy LC to slide in forward direction without gas utilizing the steady ramp ( winching like ) and smoothly came out

the Nissan Xterra has very weak original tow points,

I still have the front stock one ( rear replaced as are weaker yes ) … but as mentioned above it’s how recovery is executed best and the importance of sand clearing is extremely vital to the success. Unfortunately with the “best “ recovery points still when not done properly we see disasters

Thank you @M.Seidam! I was a little nervous before the drive, asking @Jaro Tuzinskyif you will be gentle on us 😄 and a bit unsure about my car with zero modifications and city tires...but the night drive turned out to be more fun than I expected (minus the hickups which were a good learning experience anyways)!

looking forward to the next one 🙋🏼‍♀️

You have done more than great . Inshallah will plan a repeat to this in the day light with little modification .
And by the way your car doesn’t need modifications . I drive stock ( no major mods ) since day one in carnity till yesterday 😅

Thanks doc @M.Seidam for a nice Friday evening drive with all the challenges it had. Yesterday was a testimonial on what makes @Carnityunique and what it is all about: Focused on safety and a like-minded community that comes together ensuring the safety of everyone above anything and everything else. Yes yesterday’s drive was not smooth sailing but at no point was there any frustration in the convoy, on the contrary, everyone was scrambling to help. Your cool headed approach and leadership kept everything under control with all the winds that were blowing against the sails and we still managed to enjoy it. Thank you for that! @Ahmad Nerat hats off to you buddy on all your efforts yesterday that were coupled with a fantastic positive attitude.

See you again soon on the sand!

Thank you Mike for your kind words and yes SAFETY is all what is it about at all level scales .🙏

  5. Trip report

“Sometimes  winds come opposite to the ship desire “ .. the nearest English translation to what we say it in my mother tongue !
Running late for about 10 min ( apology for that ) I have arrived to the meeting point seeing everyone one set and ready. After checking and briefing we moved cracking the darkness and after few kilometers we encountered our first nasty stuck situation which was mine which ended eventually with a perfectly and smoothly executed by rope recovery that felt like winching more than a tug done by @Ahmad Nerat well done to all hands who helped shoveling and preparing. It seems my stuck triggered the winds pushing against our sails back and forth within the nastiest technical patch in Faqa area ! A series of refusals and crests   Followed and one pop out lastly before our time was calling for exit.
Apart from time slipping ,Safety is a red line and can’t be breached at all cost which made me to negotiate within its boundaries .
@Mike M. I believe you did very well as second lead thanks for being vigilant and spot on with the communication.
@Misha Puskar first night drive and first Fb in Such terrain , Maam 🎩 off . Hardly any issue very well done 👍. Same goes for @Parliament and @george charbelvery well done 👍. @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke you gave us all opportunity of how to deal with the pop out 😉🙏 . @Jad Moussalli I liked the stock back recovery points of the defender we learn every day something new .very well done . @Jaro Tuzinsky pleasure seeing you again probably next time with your new desert toy ( FjC 🤫😄) . @Bashar Besha nice to see you for the second time thanks for coming bro and for the help . @Hugo although I am not a fan of suspension modification but the one you have it makes the FJC to crave for more 😅 I hope you have enjoyed the drive . @Ishak apart from the usual don’t think you had any major issue thanks for coming bro . @Gary F I liked the sand runner , long vehicle which needs at time a bit of enough push over the crests . You did well in the night drive .👍last but not least @Ahmad Nerat honestly you were the key propelling our ship against the winds for the whole night . Very well done and thank you so much .

all and all very challenging Drive in the dark in a very challenging terrain and despite our struggles we all got out safely on shore . You were the Fewbie desert knights

    take care

    Dear Desert Knights

Hello and welcome to the second version of the dark knight series. this time the iterinery is bit challenging in terms of distance and difficulty. however i always have faith in the Fewbie desret knights. most important and especially in the night drive to stricktly abide by the convoy decipline to minimise the risks of misshappens to zero inshallah.

    Please note the following

    • Please be on time at 20:00 or bit earlier  and bring all your passion for off-roading and a Full fuel tank as much as possible.
    • Deflate your tires to 12 psi regardless of your tire type.
    • Please ensure your programable radio is on, fully charged and set to Channel 2 ( 446031 ). swich your radion on as soon as you arrive.
    • Briefing will be done  before we start moving
    • Please ensure everything in the car is tied down and there are no moving objects
    • Please check all car fluids, tow hooks, and ensure no hanging parts below the chassis.
    • please ensure you come with  all mandatory gear for this drive level ( each as per his existing rank ) specially your

    1. tire deflator,

    2. pressure gauge

    3. compressor,

    4. safety flag and

    5. radio. (NO FLAG or RADIO = NO DRIVE)

    Meeting point is as below

    https://goo.gl/maps/mQ7j5BxEZs6s7NRi6

( take care while driving on the asphalt as there are some holes to the side of the road leading to the meeting point )

    For night drive

    1. Use high beam and fog lamps - check you aren't glaring others

    2. Follow the track taken by car in front exactly

    3. If you miss track - Do not venture further  on your own

    4. please wear closed shoes and covered lower limb

    5. please avoid the shrubs and vegitation whenever we stop for break as night creepers tend to be there hiding. and please watch always were you step and keep a torch with you.

convoy list will be announced by 6 pm

cant wait to see you all

    cheers

    Seidam

Hi thanks for accepting me from the waitlist.. 🥰 am still waiting on my official promotion, though I applied on Monday. If I wont get it by tomorrow, I wont be joining you..

BUT if I get the promotion in time, am one those whose lights are rubbish-y 🙊

Hi @Misha Puskar actually the system takes the next one after a dropout from the RSVP list but doesn’t recognize the participant level 😅 … your promotion might take a while till approved after collection of a consensus . I am afraid that I will remove you meanwhile till you get your promotion approved .

  9. image.jpeg.7a0235776d47768c9286bc9af2c3f01f.jpegI drive with these over 2 years and happy with them . But as I said for the purpose of this night drive even if it’s your first time drive at night , only the lead car Offroad lights are a must  otherwise for all others not mandatory. Of course if you have them sure you can use them … will talk about it more at the meeting point inshallah .
In the pict above .. you can spot 4 lights could be of a third encounter 👽
