Interesting. Let me know more pls

This works perfectly on your facelift model as you have 2 screens, the upper one which i guess only shows the useless nissan map will be used for the android module (off course you can switch anytime to your original display by pressing the back button) and the lower one remain the same untouched.

The system, is running android 10, cortex A72 cpu, 4gb ddr4 ram, 32Gb eMMC. I Got a Data sim from etisalat on my same package, and connected it directly to the device using a 4g dongle.

The main reason I got it is for using google maps/waze and Gaia gps without the need of an external screen or device.

The system will connect to the cars speakers using bluetooth, as if you are connecting your phone to play music, however your phone will remain connected to the car's system directly as well for phone calls. ( In our cars you can have a phone connected to bluetooth for phone calls and another phone connected at the same time for streaming music)

Basically what the device doing here is running an android system in parallel to the cars infotaiment system using the same screen, like switching the HDMI SOURCE at your home tV.

You can see it and test it on my car if you like anytime you want.

If this pintle hook is sitting on locally fabricated cross member, make sure to use dampers or support rope on every recovery.

At least for first 10 hard tugs, to be 100% safe to find if this is fabricated and installed correctly.

The pintle hook is still installed to the cross member, that plate was just added in between.

@Lawrence_Chehimi, just preempting the end of the summer for replacing whatever I will break on my Y62 (the rear and front bumpers start to be tired)

I would just go to the scrap yards in Sajaa area (Sharjah), you will find 10s of shops selling used parts, I got both my front and rear bumpers from there, spent some time looking between all parts until I found a clean one that doesn't need to be repainted. As far as I remember I got the front at 150 aed and the rear around 300.

I usually get any cosmetic item from these yards, for other parts I will stick with the agency.

Btw if your car is till under warranty, any mechanical part will be covered by warranty.

Sand managed to get behind the buttons on my steering wheel and they are getting stuck sometimes, when I took it to service I told them the same, they were very helpful and ordered a completely new steering wheel and will replace it under warranty, just waiting for it to arrive from Japan.

  4. I don't think 2 month is considered a long duration that can cause any damage.

Best thing to keep your keys with a friend to start it up every few weeks so the battery stays alive, otherwise disconnect the negative terminal.

I used to leave my car for 5- 6 weeks and didn't even remove the terminal, it just starts immediately and never faced any issues with the tires.

  5. Yesterday I added an exciting feature to the Y62 Infotainment system, called Video/Android Interface.

I now have access to Gaia GPS, google maps, netflix, youtube etc.. to my OEM touch screen, retaining all factory features.

You can switch between the two systems by just pressing 3 secs on the "back button" on the car. Bellow are some videos I took.

Thank you Lawrence, this is very helpful.

It did cost AED 500 to install. Obviously, given the end result, 500 too much.

It is indeed too much, if not mistaken he Connected it to the brake fluid container not to the fuse box?

@Shaaz Sha has bought a new 4 cylinder compressor which can inflate all 4 tires under a minute or two. It has double outlets for inflating and its sort of semi automatic. I don't know the brand name but as per @Frederic it has some great reviews in the internet. Cost is around 600 AED.

Now, that's a good question. Why is it I feel dumb again 🤣

I am due to go to the garage tomorrow to learn more about it as it was installed only two weeks again. I will let you know by then

It is actually the high engine torque that got you stuck, you are used to drive on sand mode which limits the engine's torque on acceleration reducing wheel slippage that causes the wheel to sink. Check the below graph for your Y62.

One question, how much did it cost you for the kill switch?

I had a kil switch installed on my Y62 (2020) - It messed up completely the electronics, the car set itself in road mode and I got stuck after 200 meters into the desert. After switching off the engine, I switched off the kill switch so that I could change the settings in 4L and engage the Diff-Lock to get out of what would be normally a very easy soft patch but the car would not have it. it would simply do what it felt like, while I felt quite stupid (I most probably looked the par). Only after getting advice from @Ale Vallecchi to change for a random setting (I ended up in snow mode), the car ran like a charm again. Not saying the kill switch is not useful, it just does not work for me or I must learn what it does exactly to my car before I use it again.

Where was it installed on your car? Interested to know on the wiring.
