Thanks @Lorenzo Candelpergher really looking forward to this!
Just one small correction to your post, as @Srikumar correctly identified when we were there a couple of weeks ago, the gate will in fact only open if you shout the word ‘ABRACADABRA’ at high volume upon approaching..

Hey @Russ I know the hustle as I have been in the tyre/wheel quest since April. I was looking for any MR model colored Bahia Blue or Chrome without any luck. I finally settled for the Black MR-701
My issue was my car being blue with chrome mirrors, grill, and side lines that would make it look like a circus wagon if I installed the bronze MRs that are found everywhere here.
Now am planning a chrome-delete 😅😅
701 will be my choice if the 703’s don’t arrive soon…there is a good weight saving on the 703 versus the 701 (over 1kg per wheel) but they both look great in my opinion…I’ll see yours tomorrow after which it could end up being an expensive day 🤣

Hello @Lorenzo Candelpergher
I have just changed my tyres and wheels, and I do know for a fact that new tyres cause some trouble offroading in the first couple of weeks until they sit tightly on the wheel bead
Nevertheless, my new wheels are Method with bead grip technology that should be preventing pop-outs better than normal wheels, yet of course not as good as bead locks
I will leave this to your judgment. If you believe its not recommended to be on an intermediate trip when trying new tyres, then I will gladly withdraw
Hey @Rawad I have the same combo on order as typically the one that I want (703 in black) cannot currently be found in UAE whereas all the other combinations are 😔…which ones did you go for? I am interested in the technology and from what I can see they are the real deal, perhaps not quite as strong as true beadlocks but a lot less hassle for sure!

Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for allowing me to join this drive with short notice, it was new terrain for me and certainly some tight tricky spots to manoeuvre in and squeeze through in my truck!
It was pleasing to be able to help out with the recoveries (and inflate @Zixuan Huang - Charlie Charlie’s tyres before he’d even touched sand 🤣) which made an interesting drive even better.
The mountains in the distance and the setting sun behind us were amazing sights!
Great driving by all and see you soon 🌵- 4

Hi @Ale Vallecchi I don’t have a great deal to add to the comments already made.
We are lucky that there are enough drives available to select ones that spur our interest, although one downside of Intermediate level is that there is generally only one drive per week, so perhaps the choice is less if you want to drive at a ‘higher’ level and have a choice of the type of drive you prefer..
Although my vehicle isn’t necessarily the most suited to technical areas, I enjoy the challenge of them and on Saturday to complete such a long distance without any issues at all is a testament not to the fact that it was ‘easy’ but rather I was at full concentration and not taking anything for granted. At the back we have the added challenge of soft churned up sand of course which always adds to the test!
I appreciate seeing new areas and exploring parts of this country I never previously knew existed, so my message would be let’s keep trying to find new terrain and encounter whatever Mother Nature throws our way on any given day!

Thank you @Ale Vallecchi firstly for allowing me to join this drive (and @Wrangeld Richard’s presence for making it possible) and secondly for - as is common with your drives - allowing us to explore new areas previously unseen!
The drive to the meeting point is not one I would like to experience again, but it was well worth it! A fast paced drive with minimal issues and plenty of fun!
Thanks to all who were there and supported, and hope to see you all again soon 🌵

Many thanks @Srikumar for leading today’s drive and to repeat what I said on the radio at the end, that drive made the very early morning so worthwhile and I cannot wait to return to the area!
The sheer scale of the area, and of course the dunes, were like nothing I’ve experienced before - fantastic!Great to meet old and new faces and hope to see you all soon 🌵
