Spotted this for sale. 205 Rallye. Rarer than finding a chicken with teeth these days. Never modified. Only 38k miles too. Impressive for a 1990 car.

Damn thats a nice one. Definitely worth the price. Everybody’s focusing on the GTI’s but the Rallye was bloody fast and nimble.

With cash in hand you could easily knock it down to 8500 and spend the remaining amount on total checkup and some replacements. Indeed a good deal for a weekend warrior.

You need very big remaining amount for maintenance. It is eating 10-15.000aed per year to run. Actually i am always saying this is good car for only rich men. But whatever i love it.

If you make the car a daily runner as well then it will definitely need a lot more maintenance like in your case Sertac where you needed to fix the AC. If you just keep it for the weekend you will start to spend a little less for the maintenance. My car is now used only over the weekends and I have stopped spending money on fixing small things which are no longer essential.

I am looking at buying a 2009 (or 2008 perhaps) Cayenne S/GTS or possibly a Turbo: I am wondering if forum members can advise what to look out for? I am told the drive shaft can get noisy and local agents will only replace the complete part rather than just the bushings, for example? Problems with Air suspension? Gearbox? What to look for/inspect when checking a prospective car? Are the Turbo's troublesome and to be avoided?  I am not that interested in 'huge' performance, so Turbo is not important to me, unless its the car of choice. Any advise from the collective forum knowledge greatly appreciated.
